I replayed Crack in Time within the last couple of years, and its still one of my favourite games of all time, I just love so many things about it, I really loved moon challenges. Was going to do ToD but I played the PS4 Ratchet instead, definitely down to play that again.

I think those games are old enough that you could literally just whack them up to 4K and 60 (originals are 30fps I believe) and it would be a massive upgrade with no redone assets (Maybe skyboxes and 2D elements could be touched up if they look particularly crusty at 4K), remake in new engine would be amazing obviously but thats probably too tall an order.

Doing that challenge in CiT where you can't be hit at all while you fight all the mini-bosses + other enemies together was such a fun challenge for me, you could even cheese it by using really upgraded guns but it was still tricky in parts even with that.

Finding the parts for the Ryno is always fun too, great reward for the end of the game where you can just smash everything in sight. The Ryno IV in ToD was really freaky with its red "death beams" and I loved how it was REALLY OP even for a Ryno, while the Ryno V in CiT was great with the classical piece that played when you fired it.

Crack in time, TOD and QFB were 60fps but it could dip. Nexus was 30fps. And agreed, 100 percenting ratchet was a blast always
 
Man I'm really waiting on GT7 and Horizon Forbidden West but may pick this up. Shame they didn't show it off running at 60fps.

Are they releasing it on Bluray as can't see it on Amazon?

Will definitely be worth owning a PS5 by the year's end. Ratchet, DeS and GT7. They've definitely prepared better than they did for the PS4.
 
Looks amazing! I'll get later this year if I can hopefully get a ps5!

On the downside, this just makes me think we aren't going to be getting any normal state of plays from now. Seems Sony's going down the route of Twitter updates and that it's :(

Being that you literally can't guarantee that, it would be unwise of you bet on it.

Fact of the matter is, Ratchet and GT7 are specified as 'Playstation Exclusive' in their respective trailers (as were Miles Morales and Horizon Forbidden West) and Returnal is specified as Playstation 5* Exclusive.
Godfall is the only other game thus far that has the 5 next to it in it's trailer (plus the added specification of 'console exclusive').

So..I dunno man, good luck with that bet whoever you decide to make it with.

Played the OG on back in the day and that was alright. didn't bother with the others they released.
 
Arguably top 5 franchise in gaming. Some of the spin off games were mediocre but the mainline games are magical. Can't wait to play this. RE8 and R&C are the 2 games that make the PS5 a must own for me.

The first game has aged the worst, the remake is good but not as good as the prior titles. R&C 2 - present are all absolutely fantastic. If you have a PS3 the remaster collection is totally worth playing. A Crack in Time on the PS3 is honestly one of the best games I've ever played. It's just straight up flawless as far as I'm concerned. Gameplay, story, graphics, music. It's just pure magic.

The first half of this year is pretty bleak for game releases until this comes out.

Hoping Biomutant will be decent I guess.
 
Well this release date was later than I expected. Guess this cements that GoW 2 will be releasing early next year, probably Feb.2022.

i always assumed it meant within the first 4-5 months of a consoles life. Like infamous second son was launch window until it came out in march of 2014
 
This is one of the games I'm most hyped about for the PS5 since it isn't crossgen and it isn't a remaster. Besides being the first major "new" PS5 game, it's a game my kids will love, and it's Insomniac so you know it's gonna be good.

i just wish they wouldnt use that term if they cant commit to releasing in the first 4-5 months of the consoles launch. Thats all.

I'm sure they wanted it out sooner, but looks at how so many games are being delayed.

Deathloop was launch - delayed to May
Kena was launch - delayed to spring
Destruction was launch - delayed to Feb
Returnal was March - delayed to April

I could go on and on and on.. so many delays..

If last year they had said "its coming out in February" and then got delayed to June, its the same thing really.
 
Looks very good and very fun. But I'm more interested in Returnal. Sony firing on all cylinders with their first party output. Nonstop quality content.

I LOVED the PS4 remake of R&C but it's not worth full price, I bought it with a very deep discount, these games aren't Mario quality, hell they're not even Banjo quality. But they're fun, but you can fudge almost any of the encounters and the boss designs are pretty simple, the story... HAH story?

This is going to be awesome and June works for me. I have a dozen games (ps4 and PS5) I need to knock out still.... and supposedly GT7 is coming this spring. I need more time to play games!

Insomniac has already confirmed months ago that Ratchet & Clank will only release on PS5, and not on PS4.

Explain how Insomniac cracked the code to have Inter-dimensional warping on PS4 HDD's which can only read 50mb-100mb per second. They would have solved the limits of read speeds and should share that invention with everyone ASAP.
 
First next gen game I'm really looking forward to.

Only one of those is a Sony game though.

I still believe Ratchet and Clank is basically finished and could have come out already. But, it would sell less, simply because they haven't produced enough PS5s.

Ratchet needs PS5s out there to sell. PS5 doesn't need Ratchet to sell - they'll be sold out as fast as they can be made either way.
