Rate the Microsoft E3 Conference

Rate it, suckers

5/10. The five was because they showed a lot of stuff that I'm interested in. The reason it didn't rate higher is because the show info isn't in a vacuum. I KNOW about the rest of the shit that comes with the platform. Otherwise I would have given it an 8. Genuinely interested in stuff like Spark and QB but....damn MS. Whyyyyy? Why the other bullshit? I know, money. Still sucks.

5/10

It didn't looked next gen to me.
Well the little bit better of gfx does not equal the 500 euro price.

Besides that, killer instinct looked like a cell shaded mortal kombat game.
Character design was ugly as hell. This was not what fans wanted.
But it's still in early development, so...

8/10, I wasn't really paying too much attention (just looked at the games I was interested while I was multitasking), I thought it was pretty good.

What I like:

60fps for halo and BF4 (if I heard them right)
Dead Rising looks decent
Quantum Break looks awesome
Metal Gear Solid 5 trailer
Witcher 3

What I don't like:

Ryse was stupid
Dead Rising 3 framerate isn't as good as I expected, for a next gen game
Could've been more games not many 1st party exclusive that interests me
Pricing

C/C+

It was nice that they focused on games but those games mean nothing so long as DRM, 24 hour check in, Kinect, etc are in place.

I thought Killer Instinct looked terrible. Jago is unrecognizable.

Not pleased with the direction of Dead Rising 3. It seems to have lost all of its charm and looks like a generic zombie game now.

Not MS' fault but I'm so sick of hearing "open world" during this E3. Seems like the only thing coming out are open world games and FPS games.

10 Killer Instincts out of 10.

We'll see if Sony has an exclusive fighting game to announce that would make me consider their console, in the wake of this conference.

I thought it was a decent/good conference, so it gets a 3/5 from me.

I'm looking forward to Quantum Break and Dead Rising 3 as far as exclusives go.

Very nice 8/10
+ fm5 ai talk. Hope its going to be that way
+ heard the first time from a flashback remake
+ dr3
+ below looked amazing
+ quantum break, i want to see more

. No interest in KI
. Titan fall, dunno
. Damn, d4... Too short...
. Halo, dont care. Just a trailer. Same black tusk
. Price, dont care

- ryse looked as crappy as god of war gameplaywise. Even worse with those qte

Domt remember the rest... Star wars battlefront is in my mind

Quoting self from other thread:

The conference wasn't a train wreck, but it wasn't very exciting either, which is bad for Microsoft. The best looking games that had gameplay (MGSV, Titanfall, Witcher, Battlefield) are coming to other platforms or are cross-gen, the more interesting or new ones were just given short teasers with no real info, and some of the games (Ryse, DR3, KI) looked kind of rough and boring. Couple that with that price and the preexisting DRM stuff and it's really hard to be excited.

8/10

The only downside for me was the price announcement. Tons and tons of games and I wanted to play nearly all of them.

Pretty good.

I'd say they delivered on their "all about the games" spiel. Showed plenty of new games and a bunch seemed quite interesting. Unfortunately a lot of those are apparently Xbox One exclusive, so I won't be playing them.

6/10

I give them credit for showing games, games, and games. However, the ones they showed didn't really pique my interest...

4.99/10

- 3 weeks ago, 15 exclusives in the first year. Today 13 exclusives. Only showed about 6-7, and some were CG trailers.
- Putting the focus on multiplat games is not going to convince me to buy a XBone.
- Is Kinect required? Who knows. Used games? Who knows.
- Copying a bunch of PS stuff is not the way to go (giving free games on Gold, 3 and 4 year old games)

3/10. Not enough games for my tastes. The lack of Japanese support disappointed me immensely. The only game I want is MGS and I can get that elsewhere.

Any other year, it would have been a good show. This year, however, it felt like pandering to the hardcore--because they know they've neglected us.

They certainly brought the games. Shooters, shooters, a fighter. Kinect barely acknowledged. But not a word about the elephant in the room--DRM.

Aside from a few titles, there seemed to be a lot of filler and dreck, too. Ryse looks boring, that Insomniac game looks embarrassing, and to be honest, the only things that really grabbed my attention were Battlefield 4 and the Respawn game.

And I have to say it: I thought the visuals, in general, underwhelmed. I thought Metal Gear V looked wonderful for an Xbox 360 game. As an Xbox One game, however--it certainly lacked punch. Good thing DICE and Respawn (and Remedy) were there to demonstrate some graphical chops.

No, I feel this conference was a calculated effort to make the hardcore (and everyone else) forget about those terrible, anti-consumer policies that are in the works. And in my view, that takes several points off of what would have normally been a quite capable showing.

yeah it was good but not good enough to make me want to buy an Xbone. also that price is ludicrous which doesn't help things

3/5 for that MGSV reveal. A lot better than I expected.

Any other year, it would have been a good show. This year, however, it felt like pandering to the hardcore--because they know they've neglected us.

Come now. If they weren't "pandering" to us they would have been pandering to casuals or the mainstream. Which would you prefer?

I thought the show itself was good. Right pacing, all games, and they even the on two or three non dudebro games amidst the shooters.

Still, you couldn't pay me to have an xbone in my house

Overall great. The price is disappointing, but Ryse looks too QTE heavy, but I actually found most of the games appealing.

I'd give it a 7. Actually thought they did a good job of showing games, but Microsoft has a propensity to show games at conferences that never come to fruition. There were 3 or 4 games shown last year that have yet to hear about again except for a behind the scenes thing for Lococycle.

My big problem is they danced around and tried to justify DRM at the same time. Lots of mentions of Cloud processing, which to me just says "lol screw you, play online". Also I got an insinuation that Live is going to change price later.

2/5. Anything exciting was multiplatform and I'll get on PC or PS4 instead. Still not being given a single reason to want the system.

OK, just got through it. I'm not convincing at all. Smoke and mirrors, yet again....

RYSE - No fucking way was that running on Xbone and looks like it has the playability of Dragons Lair.
Forza - Touted as game play but it wasn't. It was essentially the same reel as the reveal 3 weeks ago
HALO - No gameplay
Dead Rising - OK, not bad but nothing earth shattering
MGS - Looks OK but is an open world setting the right direction? Konami have to condense that claustrophobic, tentative feeling from previous outings somehow. I remain doubtful.
Battlefield - More impressive than the initial reveal I suppose.
Sunset Overdrive - No gameplay
Project Spark - Interesting
Killer Instinct - Fan service. Will it have SF4 levels of depth? Doubtful.
TitanFall - Easily the reveal of the conference. Looks great.

I don't know guys, maybe I'm too hard to please. There really wasn't anything I could honestly say ignited my interested for NEW, COMPELLING experiences. I imagine Sony's will be the same in which case I'll just head under the nearest rock and play DOTA2 for the rest of my days.

2/5

6/10. Showed some good stuff, but at this point they need to go above and beyond to get past the DRM issues, not too mention the price $599 and a gold subscription.

5/5

Best Show

Salty people due to nabbing exclusives

Didn't really do much for me, but I guess I wasn't part of the demographic they were trying to reach anyway.

Between the majority of what interested me being multiplatform, or not much Japanese support to speak of, this was just not a thing for me.

7/10

Some neat looking games, minimal fluff, price isn't that much for me. Decent show overall. Not sure if I'll buy one yet, but I'm way more tempted now as opposed to after the reveal presentation.

I'd say 2/5 considering what it means in the post but honestly that's a bit harsh. None of the games sparked my interest/imagination. Nothing showed me why Xbox One is the console to own. But on the other hand I can see why people would like it. MS delivered, just not to me.

Probably would've been a 3/5, since there were a few games (but only a few) that were kinda interesting.

However, those sound glitches completely ruined Crimson Dragon's showing, which bumped them down to a 2.

Was tempted to give a 1, because of DRM shit, but I decided to be a little generous.

If the context of the rating is "did they succeed in their goal of getting people over the consumer rights clusterfuck that is their console?" then definitely lol/10.
If the context is "was it a good conference?" then I'd give it somewhere between a 6 and a 7. It was better than it has been in years, no Usher performances, not much Kinect. The main issue is that a lot of the "exclusive" games they showed are or at least WILL be available for PC. Titanfall, Battlefield 4 which was RENDERED on a pc. There's not a single exclusive I saw that I'm sure isn't going to be available on pc in the future for me to be excited about.

3/5

it wasn't awful, and actually a pretty good focus on games, but nothing really amazed me enough to overcome the shitty drm. I've been saying there was nothing they could ever show off that would get me to support their new policies, so maybe it's just me.

The 360 slim slim is cool, I usually love those very late last revisions like the psone and ps2 slim.

2/10
Some nice trailers but Quantum Break remain the only game that interest me in the whole Xbone line-up. Most of it I'll be able to get on PC and PS4 anyway.
