Rayman Legends |OT| "It's a bit like a porno" (Michel Ancel) WiiU/360/PS3/Vita/PC

Why do people keep mentioning a delay for the Vita version? It's supposed to come out in 2 days and retailers still list it as the 30th. Wouldn't Ubisoft have announced it by now?

Quick Impression for the time I spent on it today (Wii U) :

- It Looks AMAZING the art is fantastic and the levels have more animated background compared to Rayman Origins. Best Looking 2D game hand-down.

- The gameplay is top-notch. Same overall feeling than Rayman Origins. The Murphy's levels are actually quite good on Wii U. The first ones are a bit too easy to entertain, but the rest provides a bit of challenge. The fact that we do not control the on-screen character makes perfect sense as the action is intense enough on the touch-pad. Good use of the Wii U remote.

- Levels seems to show a bit more variety in style than Rayman Origins, situations are changing a lot. I don't remember in which preview I read something about it being as creative in level design as Super Mario Galaxy 2, but I understand the feeling (a bit too soon to say for the entire game, I just finished Teensie trouble).

I can't wait to test co-op.

Vita version sent to die? The original date was perfect. :/

Are you talking about EU version only? I haven't heard anything about a US delay.

This game looks amazing, but just like origins i'm really annoyed at these screenshots,
why the hell can't the game look like that on my tv,
I want to appreciate the art.
i'm hoping there is a camera zoom in option this time.
otherwise it's going to be origins all over again...
z00k.jpg

such a shame that this is probably more what it will look like,
the art is so nice that i hate the zoomed out camera due to multiplayer.
please tell me there's a camera zoom option.

Luckily on the Vita version you can zoom in and out. I do it sometimes to appreciate the art.

I played through the PS3 version and really liked it. I plan to spring for the Vita version, though.

Edit: I meant the demo of the PS3 version, not the full game.

Dunno about retail but DD Vita version for EU is Sep 11 while PS3 is today.

So its not delayed? I was just going by what was in the OP :/

Jeebus. I pre-ordered the Wii U version for $37.99 at Newegg on 9/17/12, when they had the game listed at $50 - $12 pre-order code. I have changed credit cards and purchased the PC version at $15 since then. Not sure if I want to hang onto it to see if it ships at that cost, cancel it in case it doesn't, just play PC, etc....

Mainly debating whether the Murfy levels are worth it.

Well, on PS network, the release date is on 11th of september in EU.

I based myself on IGN factsheet for the NA release. There is nothing really specific about Vita on the officialwebsite, so it might still be on track... I was surprised as well. Some sources are even referring to a 2014 delay for Vita (rumor).

Interesting, the Origins levels are actually remixed. It's mostly that they have ten hidden Teensies instead of the usual two, but it's something. That first desert chase stage is so good <3.

I think they are. Or rather, I think they are less interesting without touch controls (from what I tested on PC demo).

The slow ones yes, but rescuing Barbara is pretty cool, especially because you need to be precise to get the gold cup.

This confusion is frustrating, as the Vita version is the one I want the most.

I thought this was coming out the week before GTA V? Oh well, looks like I'll have something to play next week (I have the Steam version pre-ordered)

One of the few games I can play with my girlfriend (she is terrible at games, but instantly 'got' murphy).

But dear lord, with GTAV and W101 a few weeks away.....I might pick this up a couple of weeks later.

Just put up a quick little comparison video of a Murfy level in co-op on Wii U vs. "hold B to Murfy" as a solo player on Xbox 360.

Man. After playing the demos on the Wii U I feel like the non-touch versions are going to be really disappointing in multiplayer. How many Murfy levels are there again, in relation to "regular" levels? Might hang onto that Wii U pre-order after all....

Seems like I would have much more fun platforming and occasionally hold b button as opposed to completely be re-assigned to murfy and pretty much just watch and tap the touch screen. I hope I made the right choice going with the Vita version

+ Portable.
+ 5 exclusive levels, exclusive Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell skins.
+ Keeps all the touch functionality from the Wii U version.
+ DAT OLEDyaddayadda.
+ Cheaper than the console versions.

- Worse graphics.
- Multiplayer is 2 people only.
- AI-controlled character during the Murfy sections in single-player.

Nope...so not true. Someone clearly has not played Origins on the Vita. Even if the Vita version of Legends is missing a few effects and has different lighting, the OLED screen will more than make up for that.

I guarantee when all is said and done the Vita version will actually be known as the best looking version, just like how Origins was on the Vita. It can't be said enough how incredible Origins looked on the Vita.

In what world did the Vita version of Origins look better than the HD console version

I know you're prone to hyperbole, but let's not go overboard

I get it, Vita version delayed so we won't have a cross buy whining! ;)

Still getting it though!

It kind of is after playing both. Or it's just the amazement of how good the Vita version is!

He's factually correct, sorry.

It's 544p compared to 1080p. That is worse. I'm getting it on Vita too but it objectively has worse graphics, as did Origins. That doesn't mean it doesn't still look fantastic.

You haven’t played it on the Vita have you? I've got the demo for the 360 version and bought the full game on the Vita and the Vita version looks better to me.....

I thought this was well known? Do yourself a favour and play it on the Vita, it’s probably the best looking game I've ever played. It’s just ridiculously good looking.

Origins was so damn good aside from the mosquito flying and the pretty terrible bosses. Have high hopes for this.

I wish I could get into this game...currently going through Origins right now on vita and it's boring the shit outta me. I like platformers too...but I think Rayman's character design is actually horrid.

Third party Wii U games get price drops all the time dude :D
Yes, but they take forever, longer than the other consoles and retail rarely have bomba sales with Wii U games.

Still a little sour in the Vita delay! But it'll pay off since there are other games that are coming out until the 20th.

Rayman Legends and its predecessor really do have orgasmic visuals.

Currently I am replaying through Origins and often I have to stop and gaze at the gorgeous colors, backgrounds and animations.

I am also really digging the medieval inspirations in Rayman Legends. It might even look better than Origins. So hyped! Pre-ordered it yesterday for PS3.

Wat? I guess you don't like shmups.

Watched a couple of video reviews for this, looks absolutely fantastic and a nice throwback to some old style platforming. The graphics, music and gameplay really mesh well together... Now to decide what format to get it on!

I keep reading conflicting things on the inclusion of online co-op.... But amazon pretty clearly states it has it. If it does then this is day one for me... Anyone know for sure?
Four-Player Co-op: Once again you and 3 friends can save the Glade of Dreams in online or offline co-op. Jump in and jump out at any time during the 80+ levels of gameplay!
