You know, I still have this in my tabs and I have no idea now how I managed to stumble on it.

It so inflammatory and insensitive, but I honestly don't think he thought about it. I just can't help laughing at him digging a deeper hole for himself.

Actually now that I think about it I did know one woman in her mid 30s who was dating a guy my age (this was back when I was 22.) They were a pretty hectic relationship though :/

Yeah, I can understand that. I don't think I could have been fun to date when I was in that age group. Everyone is all crazy at that age, though I think by 18 I was more stable than most. In fact my first boyfriend broke up with me because he wanted to get lots of women and party. Ah well, worked out for me :D
Especially since all that partying and sleeping with random women ended up with him having a son on a woman he didn't care much about.
 
I sometimes feel like the stereotype that when girls are young, they tend to want the more 'badass' male archetype, and as they get older, they go for the safe bets - has SOME merit.

Well, it's more like... it feels like the older girls get (and I get), the more attractive I get to them. I've honestly had more girls make passes at me, hit on me and straight up proposition me in the last 10 months than I have ever had, collectively, in my entire life. And most have been around my age.

But, I think it also might have something to do with a general trend in almost idealizing the nerdy guy stereotype. I don't know when it started happening exactly, but nerds are in. That's why I am kind of surprised when Gaffers talk about their nerdiness being a detriment to meeting ladies.

Nah. Rebound-ish thing that eventually became more dates until suddenly dates became dating and dating became girlfriend.

But she'd do stuff like tell me to call at a certain time and then not answer, she just wanted to make sure I'd call. And "Who even does stuff like that?" was not a valid argument to her 21 year-old head.

Oh, and introducing me as her friend to one guy in specific and only that guy. That one was interesting.

I've always preferred nerds :D I'm ahead of the trends, as usual!

I actually got made fun of in school for always having a crush on the nerdy guy. And when I would tell them how I felt, they told me they would only date me if I looked like a super model :<
 
Eh my last two girlfriends were 30 and 31 respectively. I don't really consider that dating an older woman though *shrug*

Except my genetics make them look like they are dating a 23 year old bwahahaha
 
Last year, I had a one night stand with a 20 year old. I later found out she was married and had a kid. I felt a little bad.

EDIT: I didn't really intend for it to be a one night stand but her being married and whatnot sort of cut the budding romance short.

Like, really older, or is there a preferred range? I knew a guy who ONLY wanted to date 35+ women (he was 25).
 
My little brother's last catch was a 38 year old woman. I took him out one night, and she was having dinner with a guy friend of my fiance's whom we saw at a bar. Within about 30 minutes she'd took off with my brother not to be seen for the rest of the night.

He turns 21 on the 30th.

I've always dated girls 2-4 years older than me. Never once a younger one.

She wasn't bad looking. But I kind of felt the same way. 18 years is a pretty big difference.

A couple weeks following this, I was told she offered him $100 to paint her basement. I was not brave enough to ask if that was a euphemism.

Indeed I do, girls my age are still in that college party crazy stage and I don't really go for that. I know that there are older women like this as well obviously but I just think older women at least have their shit together and aren't as air-headed as college girls. Unfortunately I'm young as well so finding an older woman that would be willing to date a younger guy is nothing short of impossible.

Honestly I seem to be the only one in my group of friends that prefer older women, my friends and cousins feel like an older woman won't be as submissive as a younger one, something I don't care about, apparently they would feel like they weren't being big men being in charge of the household bringin' home the bacon and all that nonsense.

@Lissar: One of my other cousins dated an older woman, and while she wanted to settle down and start a family he was still in the party stage of his life so it didn't work out for him. I wouldn't want to date a woman who was more than 7 years older than me, but I just want somebody that isn't, for lack of a better word, an airhead.
 
I generally find older women (literal definition: women older than I am) more attractive but I don't think I've ever dated any.

Maybe I'm only good at convincing younger women to go out with me. :P

Neither do I! Nor do I physically. I used to be fat and sit on my ass all day every day, so it's like my muscles were in stasis for years and I'm really now only 22.

Yeah, it didn't spontaneously stop then start up again. I had kept it pretty short for a few years, but now I need to shave my head, and there's little point in doing that if the hair isn't donation-length.



As for 30, it's a weird line between being perfectly comfortable and feeling weird about my hoodies/video games/not being settled down with family/kids (mind you I don't feel any rush for the last bit, just weird that I'm 30 and most of my friends have been there for years).

Sad for her then. I started looking better when I hit 27, and I'm in the best shape/look of my life now at 30, I think.

I have failed this very badly. Girls like me if they're older or a lot younger. My ex was 8 years younger than I was, so at least that was just inside the rule.

I have not, though, done anything to make that certain bear proud, no. :P

Older women are more attractive. I once dated a 31 year old when I was barely 23.

On the other hand, there's always a limit to this sort of thing.

I get hit on by older women all the damn time. Even at work! It's terrible.

Rarely has a younger girl come onto me. When they do it's usually awkward and indirect.

I think I've actually been approached by more guys than I have women my own age or younger.
 
Though i'm probably in the worse shape I have ever been(which isn't that bad since I was always scrawny) I think I look much better than I ever have. I was an awkward bald headed twig growing up.
 
I pretty much have the same problem as la1n although mine is more legitimate since I'm actually asian. It's actually hard to find girls my age but that's probably more due to the fact that I'm still in school and I still look like a freshman.

I'm 26.

I have this curse, except it only applies to younger girls. No 14 year old girl, I'm not smiling at you because I'm flirting I'm smiling because I'm working and I have to be polite. I once went to a wedding where a 13 year old asked me if I had a girlfriend...

Woo, looking-better-at-30 GAF! Lost 50 lbs last year, started dressing like a grown-ass man. Much, much better.

Also, in regards to the age differences of couples: my step-mom was 10 years younger than my dad. My mom was 17 years younger than my step-dad. Bothered me when I was 17, now I think the gap lessens as you get older. Life is less tumultuous.
 
All this age discussion is making me feel really, really bad. I'm 27, and ages are never really mentioned when I'm starting to talk to chicks, but many assume I'm much younger so the ones I attract are....well... :(

Creepy. But also, true in a way (at least about younger vs. older women.) Young women who prefer to be a housewife and take care of husband and children are far more likely to get married early than someone who would stay single until their late 20s and 30s.


Anyway, damn you German! Everyone says German is such a logical language, but then (much like English) it has more exceptions to rules than things that follow the rules. I wonder why it got such a reputation? Because of the (rather false) stereotype that Germans are a tidy and logical people?

She looked pretty run down (but still good looking) in The Wrestler which is what I'm guessing what you'd normally catch her looking like.

She looks gorgeous there, but any semi-attractive woman with their hair done and a nice outfit shoots up at least 2 points.

Haha. Well, thank you. I'm pretty happy/confident with who I am and how I look, but I feel like I'm in stasis sometimes. Not in a rush, just time moving faster than I expected. And, no one gets the bottle without a fight.

When I was in my late teens/early 20s only guys 10+ my age wanted to date me, and now that I'm 30 most of the guys who hit on me are 5+ years younger! I'd gather the latter is because many guys in their late 20s/early 30s are already married/have kids.

I also remember your tag story. It's good to be appreciated by both sexes, but you always seem to get harassed. :P

Yeah they were basically laughing at me when I said I preferred an older woman and when they presented this as their argument it got a bit awkward. I could see what they mean but from my perspective it's like I don't want a woman who needs me to hold her hand for everything she does. If there is mutual respect between the two and they both have moved past that college party stage then I think such a relationship can work.

I remember when I was 17 (and still a goth) this guy who looked around 30 or so in a business suit came up and started hitting on me. I was like, fetish much?

I've always seemed to attract 50+ age guys more than anything else though :<
