This happens to me while watching Mad Men. All of a sudden I have a craving for a drink and a smoke.

As a smoker I watch with both envy and horror at people smoking everywhere in Mad Men et al. The addict wants to live in that world, the rational mind knows that I can't keep smoking forever.

Not gonna lie, I start pretending to smoke whenever they have a TV show or movie like that.

Boardwalk Empire was the last surprisingly gratuitous thing I watched. It's just boobs and gore constantly. That's tolerable, but everyone smokes constantly too which just means I keep jumping up for a cigarette every few minutes.

For all the health reasons and money reasons and whatnot, this is probably the main reason I quit. It's a very disruptive habit in today's society.

The closest I've ever come to quitting entirely was using the Alan Carr method, but I never managed to fully convince myself that I didn't enjoy smoking so I didn't keep it up. My next option is hypnosis which could be fun.
