I can't believe out of all the Metroid-based ones nobody has done this one yet; in my opinion one of the most disturbing boss deaths in videogame history (ESPECIALLY shocking since it comes from Nintendo);

Simply awesome. Just goes to show that you dont need fancy software or expensive machines to create great art.

OMG you win. What was that game even called? I just recall you could access it through QBasic. So ****ing long agooo.
Gorillas

The best was modifying the variable that controlled the blast radius, you could take out the entire city with one banana.

What can I say? I loved plaing Gorillas back in the day. I often wondered if this game would get the next-gen treatment...
back when Windows XP was THE FUTURE

The only thing named Apple Works on my Powerbook is in a folder titled text converters and it tries to open in Word. :/

But with all the Zelda entries, I'm dying to try to recreate the scene of Anju and Kafei's loving embrace in Majora's Mask minutes before the moon impacting Termina.

There's not just digital art, you know...

Great pictures in here. Maybe I'll try this myself...

I think what SlovanJedi did was sacrifice several first-borns to a pagan god, then sucked the computational ability out of his computer while simultaneously channeling the artists for Metroid. He then destroyed his mouse, jammed the mouse cable into his hand, then proceeded to coerce the computer into creating a masterpiece. Afterwards, he blew up the smoking husk of his computer and went home.

Otherwise, creating such an artwork is impossible. Impossible.

I question some of these entries. Many of them have embedded words "Adobe" or "Adobe Photoshop" when you open the images in notepad.
I would have saved my JGR picture in Paint but the JPG compression is crap, so I gave it to my friend to save using Photoshop.

Just tried uploading the original BMP to a few image hosts but they all converted them to JPG or PNG, wow, didn't know they did that. Anyway, here's the original image (no embedded words):

Thanks for the comments guys. Quite a few of the ones I've seen in this thread are amazing, some talented people here.

Edit: Re-uploaded with Tinypic.

I saved a Paint Windows BMP which I later converted to JPG using Adobe because Paint's JPEG compression is horrendous. *shurg* You want the BMP, I'll post that.

that actually works as a stereoscopic image if you cross your eyes.

I made this for some other joke a year or so ago... and I do recall slightly misaligning them so as to create that effect. The image is wider than my screen at the moment, though, so I can't test and see how well it worked out.

Holy shit, that's amazing. Makes me embarrassed to have even posted something in this topic now.

I use linux, so no mspaint for me. I used the Gimp. I realise that would be considered as Photoshop. However looking at my picture I think I would be excused from any cheating accusations ;).

It is one of the best, but how could anyone do it justice quite like this? This picture is amazing.

Anyway, this thing is tiny and incredibly shitty but to make that many buildings would have taken way too long for such a shitty picture.

Hey don't say that! The beauty of this thread is that it doesn't matter what your artistic skill level is. I've enjoyed some of the "amateur mouse drawing" along with the "masterpieces".

On that note, the Metroid pic is awesome. Excellent work.

booooooooring.. it's supposed to be CRAPPY, hence the MS Paint.

You may as well have put up a screenshot, and it would have been quicker.

Oh yeah, you did do a great job though :D
