Wish online trophies where not in the list..
Oh how I love online trophies.

As soon as you see that, you know you're never going to 100% the game which is just infuriating especially when you're a solo player online most of the time. Saying that I think Rockstar just like to troll with some trophy requirements anyway. Especially collectibles. At least I've learned to deal with the trophy addiciton syndrome anyway :messenger_beaming::messenger_pensive:

Holy crap that's a lot of online trophies. And the single player trophies look to be your standard boilerplate ones with the hidden probably being story related. I'm fairly disappointed. Trophies and achievements can be a lot of fun when the developer puts some thought into it.

I have a weird rule that I never pay full price for a game I don't intend to platinum. It's kind of like signaling my belief that I will really enjoy the game and am committed to getting the full experience out of it. I think I'm gonna have to wait for a sale price on this next year now. :(

Over half the trophies are online... That is fucking lame.

Online trophies suck ass. They need to split that shit into 100% SP and 100% MP. Too many games have it all merged as one and if you come to something late you might find you can't 100% because the MP is dead.

I can't understand how 95% of developers are clueless in what people who like trophies want out of them.

It's not that complicated. For games where the main attraction is single player, the platinum should be basically akin to "100%ing" the game.

Leave online trophies out. Or just have 2 or 3 that basically just have to try a few modes.

Don't add trophies that no one would normally ever do while attempting to 100% the game. Things like kill 1000x enemies with each weapon.

Don't make your most difficult trophies tied to minigames no one wants to play anyway.

In games longer than 20 hours, no missable trophies.

Avoid trophies that are almost impossible without an online guide.

Make me see everything worth seeing. Collect everything worth collecting. Again, basically just what we've always considered 100%ing the game.

I’ve been thinking of these trophies all day. This has brought my hype lvls down a few notches. I’m not the biggest trophy hunter, but I’m on a pretty good streak about getting plats. I just hoped that streak would carry on. This trophy list being multiplayer heavy makes me think this will follow the gta route and there won’t be any sp post launch support again. Just more multiplayer bullshit.

I’m honestly not interested in this game at all. After the abomination that was GTA Online and reading about the weapon degradation my interest has dropped to 0%.

Strong similarities to the trophy list of GTA V.

Not that I'm complaininig. Love me some GTA V/GTAO.

Note that RDR2 Online only requires rank 50 to get the hardest rank-related trophy, while GTA Online requires rank 100. Assuming progression occurs at a similar speed to GTA Online, this makes RDR2's trophies SUBSTANTIALLY easier than GTA Online, as getting rank 100 is by far the most time consuming trophy in GTA V's entire online/offline list.

Online Trophies are just absolute garbage. That is one thing the vast majority of gamers can agree on. They don't require much "skill", but an ungodly amount of patience and grinding to reach whatever absurd level cap they provide and doing inane things that ultimately make the game less fun. Going to be a slog finishing Black Ops 4 thanks to that and its dumb "win 10 games of blackout!" trophies. Still haven't finished Red Dead Redemption or GTA V thanks to the endless grind.

I’m not going to not play the game because of online trophies, but I won’t make any effort to try and get them. I grinded for that one on the first RDR and so far is the only Rockstar platinum I own.

However I do think companies would be better served if they put some light online trophies that provided enough incentive to try them out. Doom, Uncharted games are examples of good enough online trophies. Farcry 5 IMO should be as far as it goes with online achievements.

Online trophies can work if they're limited and accessible:

Play an online match - Bronze.
Play 5 online matches - Bronze.
Play 10 online matches - Silver.
Be on the winning team at the end of an online match - Bronze.
Get 10 kills in online play - Bronze.
Get 25 kills in online play - Silver.
Get 50 kills in online play - Gold.

The above would encourage multiplayer play without (mostly) turning it into a chore. Otherwise, they might as well have one that says:

Defeat a Rockstar staff member without taking damage on a Tuesday between 7pm and 7.05pm EST.
