Red Dead Redemption |BC OT| Backwards in the Saddle Again

So far, so good. Pretty smooth at 30fps even in town. Much better than on 360.

Kind of off topic but not really, seeing as its about the same game maybe you guys could help.

So I don't actually own any Xbox consoles (I wish I did now so I could play this game) but I have the PS3 version and not only does the game look worse than the 360 counterpart, but it honestly feels like its running at 20 - 25 FPS. Is there some way to improve the graphics, or at least improve this performance? There are moments of brilliance in this game I simply can't enjoy because of this shitty performance. How did PS3 players handle this back when it was released? All the reviewers must have surely played the 360 version.

I really wish I had an Xbox one :p

Is there a complete package with the base game + all DLC available on the Xbox Store or Xbox.com? Or is retail the only way to get everything bundled together?

Buy a cheap Xbox 360 or an Xbox One. The new S looks sexy as hell and got 4K BHD if you need to sell it to your spouse.

I don't know, I'm just desperate at this point. I knew that most likely there was going to be no "magic bullet", but its really bumming me out I can'y enjoy this game, especially with my own love for the wild west and all the praise it gets.
 
Oh man - I want to get through The Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 and <insert all other games> - should I go back to this...I mean it's one of my top games of all time - but I 100% it many moons ago...what to do.
 
looks like the game is much more GPU bound than CPU, which was why the PS3 version ran like crap and looks like crap. Good thing in this case.

Was playing some castlevania SOTN all day yesterday...while streaming it to PC. So imagine the input lag that causes. But it was pretty dang playable and I made it to the inverted castle which I haven't done since the late 90's. Honestly SOTN is way too easy.


On topic, to people saying the Undead Nightmare DLC was in the store or in the game hub, it wasn't for me. I had to go to my apps, highlight RDR, press start and go to manage game. UN was listed there under my "Ready to Install" tab.
 
So pumped. Backlog is huge but IDGAF. Already basically finished the main game but haven't tried Undead Nightmare.
 
got to the early part where you have to shoot the rabbits and it felt unplayable because of the input lag to me. this sucks

Is the disc not working yet? Asking for a friend, I have digital and am downloading he has the disc and says it's not available in the BC list.
 
If I no longer enjoy the GTA games, would I still like this? I tried it years ago on PS3 and it didn't quite click with me.

Something definitely is up on your end I'm afraid, just finished that section myself and it played just finer for me... game looks and runs phenomenal and I tested all kinds of movement... have you thought that maybe you need a new controller?

Understandable, the ps3 version is way worse.
To me it had similarities in terms of gameplay but overall it was a whole different experience. And a fantastic one.

Yep nailed that spot without an issue.
 
I also notice input lag. It felt like a deadzone issue with the sticks. Try moving the thumbstick very slowly and see if the camera moves.
 
So far performance has been a non issue. Game runs great. Maybe a little bit of input lag but that's never really been an issue for me in games. It's been so long since I've played this. It's good to be back.
 
Definitely noticing the same input lag issues I have with every backwards compatible game but with the lock-on aiming I think it'll be mostly a non issue.
 
General question: are loading times reduced on Xbox One? Even more when the container is put on an external ssd?
 
Not really noticing a lot of input lag. I do notice the slightly large deadzone on the right stick though. Not as bad as back in February which is good.
