I made the words big so no one would get their hopes up and hate me.

I STILL THOUGHT IT WAS RELEASED >:(

Trailer was fantastic. I can't get enough of these fucking reviews. I've been watching the Star Trek one damn near every day since it was released.

The prequel reviews are godly. Can't fucking wait.

And I just got the Black Knight reference :lol :lol :lol

I hope there isn't more of this in the review, the proportion was way off on the last one and this looks like even more random live action sketches in the middle of the review. The first one had an alright balance I thought.

What?! I live for his live action sketches!

"I like when the goo starts just too come out"

I just wish he stopped with the whole "i kill people in my basement blabla ex wifes" act. It was cute at first, but the actual review is way more interesting and i hate it when he interrups it to do this.

edit: beaten :lol

I don't mind the serial killer bits, but I did like that they were scaled back in the recent Star Trek review.

And Episode 3 the least bad of the prequels? That's a really tough call. They're all terrible.

Episode III had the worst plot and dialogue of all 3 movies, but its greatest crime is that it had the most wasted potential. Palpatine revealing himself to the Jedi, General Grievous, Obi-Wan vs Anakin, the eradication of the Jedi, Padme's death, the Darth Vader transformation...all handled so incompetently it felt like bad fan fiction.

And the space scenes at the beginning were fucking awful. Instead of trained Jedis dogfighting in the middle of a capital ship battle we got Anakin scraping robots off Obi-Wan's ship. The only memorable space battle in all 3 prequels was Obi-Wan running away from Jango Fett.

This review would need to be twice as long as the others to accurately critique how terrible this movie is.

my take on the prequels is that there was no way for lucas to win. Imagining how all the pieces fell into place is so much better than seeing them.

Plus he wrote some really stupid contradictions in there for no other reason than a) he forgot what originally happened or b) he didn't care.

Not to mention the whole "I am your father" scene gets completely ruined because of the new trilogy... I don't know.

Well, lucas's shoddy scripts and lackluster directing certainly didn't help.

Did you see any on the fights in prequels? Its all ballet and interpretive dancing.

Yeah, fuckin horrible. No emotion at all.

That moment still stands out for me though, that's when i laughed out loud in the theatre.

The fights have lots of fancy glowsticking filler in between the script mandated horribleness. You got the flipping, the twirling, and the lightsabers clashing. Then it stops abruptly, someone does something incredibly stupid and the fight ends.

I hope this time he focuses more on trashing the movie, ala Episode 1 Review, and less on stupid real-life "humor" cuts, ala Episode 2 review.

More exciting to me than any film trailer I've seen all year.

And you people hating on his shtick, you can't not have laughed at "please post your comments on this webzone and I will email you a pizza roll."

Come on now. There is nothing in this movie that comes anywhere close to "I hate sand". It's plot is the only one that isn't a fucking mess. To sum it up, we finally see Anakin become Darth Vader. I don't think I can sum up any of the other prequels in a sentence like that. Hell it wasn't until RLM's review of episode 1 that I understood the plot of that film.

This, on the other hand, is completely right. The fact that it is the movie where Anakin becomes Darth Vader...the movie Star Wars fans were waiting for since 1977 I'd say... makes hit close to home more than episodes 1 and 2. I still think it's the best film of the prequels, but it's undeniably a huge disappointment.

I am of the opinion that Revenge of the Sith was more entertaining than any of the Star Wars movies, Original or Prequel.

*hides in nuclear bomb shelter*

ROTS is definitely the best of the Prequels, and IMO is better than ROTJ and on par with ANH and ESB. I still do not understand the backlash that the film receives, especially since the fans loved it when it first came out. Hell, it has an 80% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Because green screen sets were boring, the Battle of Courscant was yawn inducing, the dialogue was terrible, etc etc.

Most importantly: The reasoning behind Anakin turning to the dark side was exceedingly ridiculous.

ROTS sure wasn't the worst film because of a lame fight that took too long. It's the unrelenting convenience and unmotivated stupidity of the characters, particularity in this movie. Although they finally kinda of had a protagonist in this one almost.

I like that moment in the Anakin - Obi Wan fight when they just stand in front of each other waving they lightsabers without hitting each other.

That belongs to an anime, or the Matrix, not a Star Wars movie.

This is what im talking about:

Look at how cool we are!

Whining about a 3 second flourish in an almost 10 minute fight? Come on theres so many actual bad aspects of the prequels, but the amount of nit picking is beyond ridiculous.

AOTC is far worse in all these aspects.

This week? Pfff.
Looking at his past schedule this mean we should get it around New Year. That said, weeee, RotS is on the way :D

Yeah, but there were 3 more years of green screen CGI fests shoved down my throat in between. I didn't like it in AOTC, but by the time ROTS came out, it had grown from mild annoyance to outright hatred.

I do think that AOTC was worse then ROTS, but thats like saying that shit is worse then this shit.

Please, expand on this. I thought that Anakin's motivation for turning to the dark side was plausible given the circumstances.

I remember people cheering when the movie started and absolute dead silence when the movie ended. I've never seen a crowd turn on a movie like that, but the last 20 minutes went from Attack of the Clones boring to The Room levels of stupidity.

Even bad movies get some small amount of discussion, but it looked like people just didn't care enough to form sentences. Just looks of depression and disappointment.

From his point of view the Jedi are evil!

It's cool, all my classes have only a midterm and a final, no partials.

I didn't even see it opening day and there was applause and cheering at the start and ending of the movie.

I remember watching in the Ziegfeld in NYC and the crowd erupted when the credits rolled.
BTW, when I watched Avatar in IMAX there was no crowd reaction when the credits rolled either.

IMDb gives ROTS a respectable 7.8 rating, so the public and critics like this movie. Seems it's the vocal minority (butthurt SW fans) who bitch about it.

"Oh no, I'm having a dream of my wife dying in childbirth! I better... explore absolutely no options about this except for sulking. What's that, Dark Lord of the Sith? You can supposedly manipulate life in vague undefined ways? Well you sound sinister and manipulative as a PSA pedophile, but okay!

"Wait, Samuel L. Jackson is about to kill that Sith even though he surrendered! That's... something that my character established over the last several years would probably do, but I'm objecting to it anyway! Objecting with a lightsaber! Well shit, Palpatine killed him. I guess I have no choice but to become a Sith Lord. Huh? Go kill innocent children? Yeah I guess, I'm supposedly evil now and stuff, I got no choice really. The Jedi are evil and all that all of a sudden.

"Hey! It's my wife! Fuck you wife! You're with the evil Jedi and evil Jedi kids and... wait, what was my motivation again?"

The critics and public loved Star Trek reboot, but GAF and the internet detested it. Same thing with Avatar, so much gaf backlash.

GAF and the internet actually kinda liked Star Trek. And there's tons of people who still like Avatar.

What a terrible false analogy.

The Star Trek Red Letter Media review thread says otherwise.

As with all things on the internet, the haters are always highly vocal. Not saying ROTS was a good movie, none of the prequels are. But people go overboard with this stuff.

"The haters" and "vocal minority" are the worst attempts to deflect criticism known to man.

and the people who give it a good rating are the blindly loyal SW fans.

I can see him killing Mace Windu, but then to go "Fuck it" and start murdering kids? Yeah, I don't buy that.

Also, Anakin is kind of smart, I think he would get a second opinion about Palpatine's diagnosis and treatment for Padme. You know, death of a loved one doesn't usually start with crystals, it usually starts with a doctor.

And yes, Padme's death was exceedingly dumb. Losing the will to live? Good god, here is a way to finish it off: Have Padme try to intervene on Obi Wan's behalf, but get knocked in the head by a box or something, which distracts Anakin long enough for Obi Wan to throw him in a lava pit. Boom. Done. None of this eye rollingly bad broken heart crap, and real guilt associated with Darth Vader. Also, no "Yelling at his burnt corpse", but Obi Wan having an actual reason to not finishing Anakin off, and having to get Padme to a doctor.
