Looks like Reddit finally banned /r/Coontown.
Finally.
Looks like Reddit finally banned /r/Coontown.
Today we removed communities dedicated to animated CP and a handful of other communities that violate the spirit of the policy by making Reddit worse for everyone else: /r/CoonTown, /r/WatchNiggersDie, /r/bestofcoontown, /r/koontown, /r/CoonTownMods, /r/CoonTownMeta.

Lol 'groundrules'
Like the new CEO is my stepdad.
/r/WatchNiggersDie
How do you see a subreddit called that and not just instantly ban it? Why would it take a month? Same with the others; coontown and so forthBut there is value in the debate of watching Niggers Die.
And yet there's people still defending those subreddits because "they didn't break any rules." How hard is it to put up a rule that states "hey, no hate speech"?
reddit doesn't want to ban speech for being awful or hateful
they've said they're banning these subs because they're disruptive to the rest of reddit, which, while true, will probably not be enough to placate the absolutist libertarians who are all over that site

LMAO at this joker wanting to know why r/shitredditsays wasn't banned and getting upvoted to boot.
For a group of people who are given everything the, average white guy is so full of hate. I don't get it.
They're getting walled behind a opt-in.
SRS: the ultimate boogeyman, even on GAF.

A couple of very loud campaigns designed to get advertisers to pull out of Reddit over the hate subs (including one that got a HuffPost article yesterday) showed up in the last couple days. Wonder if that had anything to do with this abrupt about-face.

Apparently some of the loli/shotacon subs got popped in this wave too.
yep. I immediately know who's a terrible person on gaf if they get involved with the SRS boogeyman
Today, in addition to applying Quarantines, we are banning a handful of communities that exist solely to annoy other redditors, prevent us from improving Reddit, and generally make Reddit worse for everyone else. Our most important policy over the last ten years has been to allow just about anything so long as it does not prevent others from enjoying Reddit for what it is: the best place online to have truly authentic conversations.
Sooo....is /r/shitredditsays banned for their doxxing and vote brigading yet?
Like clockwork.
SRS hasn't been active in vote brigading in years, even going back to the last Reddit administration. The doxxing was hard to prove and more or less hearsay.
But sure, perpetuate the boogeyman lie. The last admins said it themselves, SRS hasn't been on their radar for a long time, and if they acted up, they'd be banned. Guess what? They haven't.
Even if that were true, that would be a weak argument, SRS participated in doxxing and vote brigading, and by now they are the only ones getting a free pass. Reddit admins should strive for consistency, banning SRS would've made a good example.
It makes you wonder, why they dont?
SRS not vote brigading? now I've heard everything
