I'm still kind of lost on the point of this ice bucket shit tbh. All I know is 'it's for charity'... somehow...

Basically, you have a challenge; either donate money to the ALS or you dump ice cold water over your head. The water is supposed to be an approximation of what Lou Gherig's Disease does to you; locks up your joints, makes you feel numb, etc.

Unfortunately, the "ice cold" part was lost on a vast majority of teenagers and other people simply looking to make their own viral video. I mean, it still attracts attention to the thing, but there's a bit of "slacktivisim" there if all a person is doing is dumping water on their head and challenging their friends to do the same without actually donating any money.

Seems like a few celebrities and the video gaming people have the right idea which is to donate money anyways. They've certainly raised a lot of money for a great cause...unfortunately everyone will probably forget about this by next year, and the ALS will be back to raising a tiny fraction of what they raised this year.
