Remember Me - Media Blowout [New videos/Screens]

It sort of reminds me of that old game called "Oni"

Also it's rather ironic how many of us keep forgetting about this game until we hear of it again.

Looks interesting from the exploration video I watched, there seems to be a demo coming from the comments on that article, will probably give that a try.

The OT for this game should consist of only this GIF, since it tends to get posted in every Remember Me thread.

My interest in this game lies mainly in the city's aesthetics and design. Yeah the combat and memory remixing don't look amazing but the city itself is gorgeous.

Also, I would probably recommend to play this in a non-understandable language or at the very least French - the dialogue and voice acting are very, very, very bad based on the released material. Additionally, like UrbanRats pointed out - the game takes place in Paris, of course they should speak French in some way or another.

If I can play it in French with English subtitles then that's what I'm doing.

I think it looks awesome so far and I am french(canadian) so there is no problems there lol...looking forward to seeing maybe a little more combat though...

Ehm.. dude, why is "use highlight" plug-in highlighting your posts, as well as mine? It happened in another thread, too. :o
What's going on?

You post quoted by ilnadmy shouldn't be highlighted.
And it happens with you only.

Drugs.

It's probably because I explicitly mention your name and the highlight plugin assumes it's a post by you?

Maybe GAF is trying to tell you something? ;)

Dun dun dun duuuuuuuun.

Yeah, the mentioning the name thing makes sense.

The artstyle and color scheme are incredible, if you told me the bit in the railway station lobby (2.30 mins I think or was it 3.20 in the first video) was next gen I'd believe you too.

Too bad the gameplay looks like a wash though :( Feels like a mix of AC and batman which for me is a really really really bad thing.

Sometimes, the game can look almost next gen and I am loving the grain filter.

That said, there is so many things fundamentally speaking that I do not like about the game or did not like when it was first shown off. The chase sequence that lasted too long and cringe worthy dialogue that seems ripped from a Platinum title.

Looks interesting. Sorta like a budget game, but one could say the same about Psychonauts and I really enjoyed that one.

Looking forwad to impressions on the final product.

It looks like Farah from PoP '08, except now she's pissed because her series was cancelled and she's in Mirror's Edge for some reason.

Watching some IGN video coverage on their new article and Keza MacDonald refered to it as "a little bit like a third-person Mirror's Edge."

HOOK IT TO MY VEINS! Helps that she's had some considerble hands-on time with the game as well.

NOW the shoes make sense.

The music + combo flow is pretty cool

True, I didn't notice that. Juxtaposing musical beats to the rhythmic combat flow sounds really interesting, especially that they don't choose to overdo the concept in all combat scenarios.

I only watched half of the first video.

So, this is Capcom's Uncharted? Only worse. You have way points to tell you where to go. Then the set pieces where your main character has a near death experience.

HP Lovecraft.

I am seeing 0% Uncharted in this.

Really? You didn't see anything similar to Uncharted? Not the simple platforming of "climb on these ledges that shouldn't be here but are conveniently placed for you anyway" or the set piece where the sewer pipe comes loose and she's hanging on for her life while an enemy is hanging on her?

The environments are gorgeous. I was always interested but this preview sold me. I want to see the world in this game.

It honestly reminds me more of the first 3D PoP games.

Looks interesting, but that fucking arrow-HUD bullshit better be toggleable in the options menu.

Maybe I want to get lost in the environments.

Looks like it could be ok IF they let you turn some of that helping shit off. Like there seems to always be an arrow pointing where to go while you're climbing, as if it's some incredibly complex labyrinth level design and people will get lost.

Edit: Yeah that arrow shit needs to go. It literally charts a path through some of the climbing sections. What really made me shake my head was when she was on a platform and an arrow appeared about 3 feet to the left of her. Even I don't think casuals are THAT stupid and lazy.

Mike Sacco: "Racist!"

Because its gameplay looks generic, and the memory hacking doesn't seem to be particularly deep or interesting.
Generic is a pretty generic criticism.

I played through Oni awhile ago and I can't really think of many games that are similar to it. It was a disjointed but interesting mix of stealth, ranged combat and melee. I guess the closest thing is Arkham, but the execution was world's better there.

Oh man, this is looking better and better, anyone know of a release date or something?

Also any Media Kit with wallpapers and arts?

:D
