Remember Me - Review Thread

I thibnk I just decided to purchase this game. Was always rooting for it, and while reviews haven't been "great" , they aren't bad either. I'm in the mood for some single player story telling, and the art and music are right up my alley.

Here's my review if the OP would like to add it.

Good review, but man I am still torn on this...when I watch your first gameplay video for example, and you see the city landscape behind the statue and all,I whish you could go to the top floor of that skyscraper in the background ;) ,or at least close to it...the fact that you can't and that most reviews say it's in fact the opposite is a big disappointment to me...I know they never said it was open world but from the early trailers and all,I thought it would let you explore a bit...

Still the atmosphere looks great, the music is awesome and it's a new IP I would like to see succeed...also,console or PC or rental...

I trust Eurogamer reviews because they're smartly written; perhaps the best in the business. Here are two paragraphs from their review that would have sold me on the game if I wasn't already.

Eurogamer review said:
There are only a few of these scenes in the game, but they're surprisingly affecting. The idea of having your private thoughts tossed around like salad in a bowl is unsettling to begin with, and the actors and animators who give life to the scenes that follow Nilin's remixes often send lumps up your throat. Killing in games rarely feels personal, but the kind of mental damage you do in Remember Me stayed with me after I switched off the console.

The first half of the game draws all these ideas together pretty well. We're used to games that show how technology can lead society astray, but Dontnod's portrayal feels sharp and relevant; keep on turning your blind eye, letting them sacrifice your liberty for security while pacifying you with new technology, it seems to say, and you won't like what happens.

I want to support games like this.

Its just really a good atmospheric but linear adventure game.

Watched the first hour of this game. I like a lot about it, but the dialogue is already surprisingly bad. A lot of it is fighting game tier cliche. I can deal, and the MC sounds great, but goddamn.

Yeah, the voice acting and dialogue is pretty terrible from what I've heard. However, the soundtrack is incredible.

Gonna run this in French with English subtitles if possible. That way I'll spend too much time trying to remember 20 year old French lessons to notice the actual quality of the content.

Concept still interests me. 10-15 $ amazon purchase now though. :/

I had high hopes for this. I hope it doesn't put their studio down.

I gave in and preordered this one with GMG. There are too many good ideas in this for me to ignore. I can deal with a little clunkiness if the experience is memorable.

This game gives me the vibe that if you can overlook its flaws, you will most likely have a satisfying experience.

So Steam tells me its now available...and so does the store page...but I can't play. The game files are still stuck as a completed pre-load or something.

I'm surprised no reviews have expanded on the PMP points, do you ever upgrade to a PMP hand?

Do you live in PAL region? I have the same thing, but it's released in 3 days so Steam doesn't unlock it up until then.

I say this with every release, but region-locking the release of digital content is stupid as hell. I have to wait 3 more days just because I live in Europe. Rediculous.

Binary Domain, my fav of last year, is only a 68/100 on metacritic. That was the watershed moment for reviews and I.

Sales wise, :(. You're right there

How is that even possible. Binary Domain was a 9.5 from any angle I could look at it. I would not think It'd be lower than 80 on metacritic.

The game is okay. 90% of its clever ideas are not gameplay related. If you're sick of this generation's cinematic adventure formula, this game isn't for you.

At least they are average reviews and not dreadful ones. I'm old-school and use the full 1-10 range when scoring games. A 7/8 is a good solid game to me, i'm sure i'll enjoy it.

Now to make work go by quicker so i can go home and play! :)

I think Australia is/was a PAL region...so yeah.

I really enjoy this game and so far ...
118 review total around the web
7.3 across all platform.

It's a decent score and I think it reflects the idea of the game. Some people have a fun despite some "not so incredible" features and other people prefer to spend their time to focus on the bad aspects of the game.

I'm that kind of gamer who enjoys the goodness and Remember Me have a lot of good things to be enjoyed.
