I have no idea why people continue to deny it when the facts are right there.

The Wii U did start with some big (late) 3rd party releases that I think Nintendo was counting on continuing. EA had an unprecedented partnership, Ubisoft was committed, and Activision considered Nintendo home of Skylanders.
