i have never fully understood why some people consider offensive, and probably never will bc im not an attention seeking psycho path, but i believe some say it sounds to objectified. as if youre referring "a female" like shes a specimen in a science experiment, simply there to be used for the purpose of others..... and some kind of bull shit like that man i dunno these people are whack jobs and just want a piece of "im offended by thing" action.

he's walking away thinking "man this religious guy is so intolerant".

meanwhile this person who invited him to dinner in their home, he's going to just ditch him, end a business relationship because he is unable to handle someone's religious views, then complain to strangers on the internet about it.

it's just so funny that they think all this makes them better than the religious guy. he probably thinks he's more tolerant. :messenger_grinning_sweat:
Judging that guys story as 100% gospel (lol), it IS a little weird that they'd invite him there and then give him the Christianity spiel for multiple hours. If someone did that to me for, say, Islam, or whatever, I'd be polite but kinda weirded out too. I'd be an adult though and keep my job and just let them know "thank you, but I'm not interested at this time".

Realistically though, you just KNOW this person embellished on the story a bit.

I don't think it should be a bannable offense, but I see where it comes from. Like you said, it seems almost clinical as a term when used, and CAN be used dismissively. I think it's in Incel crowd that ruined the word, as they use it almost 100% dismissively.

Does every other person there claim to be trans? Every time i click a reeeeeeeee link there a trans flag behind a furry avatar ready to greet me 🤔
Yes? Well, maybe? Honestly, claiming to be trans/gay/bi/enby/whatever is essentially a big smokescreen that keeps you semi-safe from bans. If you want to be a provocative troll, you lean hard that way. No one can ban/punish someone who is LGBTQWTF+ lest they themselves be accused of x-phobia. See: Ketkat drama last year.

I do think there is a large contingent of said folx there naturally, as it is a "safe space" of sorts, but there is a non-insubstantial group who just put up rainbow avatars for brownie points/ban protection/woke projection.

yeah i agree, it could be used in that, but to crucify people who just use it in a sentence, where there is no context of misogyny or sexism or anything even close to it, simply is not fair. most of these people just want something to get outraged about.

Look at the Odell Beckham Jr. arrest warrant assault thread and compare it to any other thread about unconsented (sexual) assault. You wouldn't even have to look far since we just had that runner that slapped the butt of that reporter.

The number of different ways those people could be offended by the simple sentence: "She is female." is astounding.

4 pages over there already! I opened the thread here too and it's got 10 posts :messenger_fearful::messenger_fearful::messenger_fearful: it's almost like they are frothing at the bit to shout their hatred of cops and or white people.

I have no problem with them criticizing why the cop was in the locker room to begin with. The problem is there is no consistency on the site. A large amount of that thread would be banned for defending an assault of this nature. I'm half expecting the posters comparing this to other cases of assault by slaps to the butt or grabbing body parts to be banned for "False Equivalencies". Incredibly uneven moderation just leads to people not wanting to use a site.

True true. I mean I guess it's a Security Officer who works there, so I would guess it'd make sense why he was there. And no, touching anyone else without consent shouldn't be generally allowed. That being said, was this spank sexual in nature? I don't think so. It seems more on-level with a push or shove.

But you're right, there is no consistency over there, and that is because they have varying levels of how much they're allowed to hate different people/races/classes/occupations/etc. White cop? He deserved it, and that's allowed. I don't mean to sound like one of the "They hate all white people!" people, but it's honestly true. Pages and pages of them saying it's because he's white and he's harassing black players. They don't know anything about the situation (and neither do I) but they jump to conclusions at the drop of a hat, and the conclusion is always the same.

He used to be a regular around the time of Twisted Metal PS3's release. But at some point he just left, probably because of the overeager moderation we used to have. We lost a lot of devs on the forum due to those dark times.
That plus he got tired of people being upset with Twisted Metal 2012's launch issues that weren't resolved in time to save the game.

"Anxiety" lol, I was poking fun at the hypocrisy of you trying to admonish a person because he's, allegedly, a "cancel culturer".
As for talent, reality check: the man has accomplished more in his career than you'll do in your whole life. Give the hate boner a rest, dude.

TBH, I don't even think the Gaming side of ERA is all that great. While it's not nearly as bad as the politics and off-topic threads, much of the same hive-mind, echo-chamber tendencies bleed into the gaming forums quite often. To give an example, I once joked about Sony's First party games having the same type of third person, action gameplay. Yet ERA rigorously tried to argue that "These games are vastly different from each-other!" I mean, yeah I don't mean they're literally the same game, but most of them fit the mold of the "cinematic, third person, action game" template. But jokes are not allowed by MobERA. Criticize Sony, and you're dogpilled with the PlayStation defense force.

Even political shit pops up quite often on ERA's gaming forums, like this nonsense.

Does anyone really care about "Diversity" in a game where a Pink Marshmallow beats up a Sword Wielding Princess? No, but on ERA, these issues matter!

Yeah, incels use it in a sentence like "I can never get a female's phone number". It's a weird way to use the word and I think it's a deliberate attempt at dehumanizing women. I can understand the reasoning for it being a poor word choice in that context.

However, at Resetera they do not understand context. So they just heard someone say "blah blah the word female is misogynist" without understanding any of the surrounding context, so now they bitch at people for perfectly fine uses of the word such as "[...] the number of female characters in fighting games".

Like, what, are they supposed to say "woman characters"? What if not all of them are adults yet?

It is honestly so fuckin mind boggling. He has his head so far up his own ass he can't even see this perspective. Other than a few posters questioning his decision most are there with the E-attaboys.

REEEera is knee-jerk, the website. They latch onto things, phrases, content creators, whatever.. and never let go. I assume this is why people like PewDiePie and Joe Rogan are eternally banned. Someone, somewhere said they were bad and everyone else just followed along like good little goosesteppers.

I vaguely remember that thread. That was you?

Quite ironic, the responses you got on a forum that today saw more than one person state that Persona 5's Joker is an "anime swordsman" and every character that has actual human proportions and features in Smash is a "generic anime dude".

From my own understanding, they still accept female as an adjective, just not as a noun.

Maybe some do, but on the previous page we have an example of one of them complaining about it when it was used as an adjective.

Yup. My old account was banned for "Agressively Downplaying Diversity and Inclusion Efforts" But ERA's members are too much fun to fuck with, so I made a new one.

And yeah, it is ironic. They can joke about Smash for similar shit, yet do it with Sony and its suddenly taboo.

this guy getting so many props for sticking it to evil religious people

he gets a new job, his boss invites him over for dinner at his house, and this jackass can't handle some basic religious talk, ends up ghosting his boss in a completely unprofessional manner.

LOL thinking you are above religious people because you are a backstabbing judgey prick.

but yeah fuck his boss for INVITING HIM INTO HIS HOUSE AND CARING FOR HIM. like, what a jerk, right?
To be fair, peer pressuring a new employee into whatever religion the boss believes is not exactly a professional move eh.

maybe there's something he isn't telling but I'd feel very uncomfortable to be invited just to sell me on the bible.

I have infiltrated Upsetera also, posing as a teenage girl that loves romantic anime. It's the only way I'll be accepted there.

It's working, when I used this name I was getting mod bullied and every evenly slightly emotional or non robotic response to a thread's title saw me banned. It's hell on earth in forum form - you're nervous about what you post. You have to be 100% serious, no jokes allowed. If a mod dont agree with you, he cancels your opinion lmao!!

Fucking place that is. And I'm left leaning.

Im sure he needs job more than the employer needs him. He probably passed on a really good opportunity to get upcummies on NPC era. Assuming hes not making it up which is entirely possible.

I finally subscribed to Joe Rogan. I am curious what all the fuss is about with this guy because Resetera makes him sound like such a horrible person.

I just remember him as the News Radio guy.
He has conservative guests, and he's kind of credulous. So that makes him the devil to Ree.

I covered my tracks well, even with that info above lol. Used a proxy server and email address.

They treat u nicer if they think you're female, motherfkin perverts on there, lots of winks at end of replies to my messages, little do they know.

I'm even considering putting up the rainbow colours in my avatar pic to gain even more acceptance.

Sure, but still a business owner using his influence over employees to push them into a religion is wrong.

Unless you believe workers become business property and their private life must submit to company culture. In which case we have a fundamental disagreeent.

yep. Can someone adjust the ranking so that sexual assault is now ok if you’re black.

thx

I'm one of the biggest supporters of platform exclusives, and even I don't care about this. Horizon is an old game, so licensing it out for a PC release is a good way to hype up a potential sequel, as well as get people to buy a PlayStation system.

I'm not the fascist, YOU'RE the fascist the internet moderator shrieked through clenched teeth as they typed out a hasty ban message.
