I thought that was just for Quantum Break, and only for NVidia owners since DX11 mode offered a performance boost for their cards.
Perhaps worse wasn't an accurate term, I don't have evidence which is why I refrained from saying anything definitive. It's unlikely many people will buy the W10 version to test, but historically W10 games have run poorly. I bought almost all the exclusive UWP releases last year and Gears was the only one that ran well for me.
Im running this on my tv. Everytime I hit option the screen goes black and then my monitor is displaying for 3 seconds and then it goes black again and now the tv is displaying. It's like my tv is restarting for a short time. Tvs brand name shows up. Never had this before with any other game.
Anyone?
Same here. Not a big deal for me though. Running on JS8500.
Runs flawless for me. Playing the Windows 10 version.
I've got a mildly overclocked 970, i5 6600k @ 4.4, 16gb DDR4 and the game is falling just short of being able to max out at 1080/60. I have to lower the shadows down to "high" to avoid major slowdown in a few specific areas. I also had to change the reflections to variable to avoid that awful static effect on flat surfaces. It runs great with everything else maxed out (except resolution scale, set to "1").
The AA options seem pretty poor... FXAA and TXAA blurs things to hell. SMAA is the only one that looked sharp to me, but it still leaves a lot of jaggies. Wasn't sure which was supposed to be the "best" option... Hopefully there will be better workarounds.
What's everybody's GPU usage at? There were some screens posted here showing 100% usage, but I'm certain on my system it wasn't that high, because once it reaches in the 80% and above, the fans become more louder. My system so far has been quiet.
I'll run afterburner and check now and update this post.

Is this game underclocking my GPU? (980ti) In the picture above it's at 912mhz. And I was playing it was in the 800mhz.

Could there by a memory leak in this game? I was playing for 2hrs and once I reached a certain section I got some stutters and pauses. I turned it off, then starting playing again 40mins later and going around the mansion everything was smooth.
1. Gpu usage is at 80-100 at 1440p + 1.2 resolution scale. Temps are at ~65°C.
2. The game isn't underclocking your gpu. Check for temperatures while playing and hearing loud fans. Your gpu is most probably down throttling because it is getting too hot for whatever reason.
I don't think that's the case though going by the screen I posted. GPU is at 68c, 76% usage ( while moving around it would fluctuate and go much lower) fan is on 23%. GPU is very quiet, can barely hear it.
Certain other games like assassin's creed syndicate would use 99% gpu usage and my fans would become much louder.
His GPU should not be down throttling in the 60s. Hell most modern GPUs barely throttle in the 70s.
Thought it would be fun to compare the PS4 Pro again my PC.

I was able to take away the blurriness of FXAA+TAA by using some sharpening. The game looks amazing now. Now all that this game needs is a fix to the reflections.
It still uses all 6GBs of my 1060 w/ high shadows & cache off :/The game is extremely vram hungry with turned on shadow cache. Try turning it off.

Luckily, I haven't really come across as much stuttering; it's been very serviceable thus far.
Yes, but Very High for all settings texture-related.At 1080p?
Did you apply the sharpening via reshape or after taking the screen?
At 1080p?
What the hell the game put HDR on by default and when I turn it off everything becomes really bright.
My screen is a 1440p screen that's 2 years old and definitely does not support HDR...
Edit: Actually, this is what I get:
Is that normal? I might have just been surprised going from a black crushed image to that.
Edit 2: Actually compared to the pictures in the OP it is completely washed out. What do I do >.>
Edit 3: I'll try a displayport connection, see if that change anything...
So I've got the option of playing this on the PS4 pro or with a 1080? I'm playing it tonight with my brother and and friend so I want it to be running perfectly like right now. Should I do the Pro, I'm worried about the stutter talk?
tl;dr at the very minimum, lower your Shadow settings to High and disable Shadow Caching.
Was getting the after-dinner stuttering on my 970. Suggested changes in the thread (Update driver, shut off Shadow cache, turn down textures) seem to have smoothed it out
On a 970 I would lower textures to high, shadows to high and disable shadow caching.
PSA: Turn off Shadow Cache and set shadows to High instead of Very High. This will get rid of performance degradation and stuttering.
Nobody has answered me. But my VHS sections look totally fucked compared to videos I have seen online. How to fix, please? It's hurting my eyes it's so bad.

Those 960 numbers can't be right. How is it sub-30 fps and how is the 970 four times faster?

378.49 Nvidia Drivers definitely improved HBAO+ performance on my 970.
Now, after 4 hours something new bugs me: on a regular monitor SRGB or BT.709?
I've played with the first one and I was happy, but I've briefly tried the latter and things are wayyyys moodier. On the other hand, BT.709 has an heavy 'crushed black' appeal that is definitely not my cup of tea, while SRGB has better colors but looks like washed shit. So, I'm stuck in a lose-lose situation.![]()
Do you have videos /photos of examples?
Yes, here.
My settings are max. CA off, SSAO and SMAA.
