"B-b-b-b-but Capcom is going lowbudget with RE7! Because some of us really like to jump to conclusions!"
Serious post; this looks amazing; tremendous amount of work here being done.
OK, starting to feel HYPE
Okay, they're starting to get me interested... I'm gonna need to see a demo of the ACTUAL game soon, Capcom.
Even as a very good render, it looks like there is some subtle aliasing on the chairs and the rug texture looks a little compressed. Maybe it is just the potato cam quality.
Edit:
Woooo, VR really siphoned those potential visuals.
Yes, VR is the reason. Definitely not the shockingly underpowered current gen console hardware.

Yeah, 'cause RE 5/6 and the pletora of spin-offs were high budget (marketing, maybe).
Resident Evil has stopped being a AAA franchise after 4.
They may have had the budget, but quality? No way.
I'm really intrigued by the new direction, it could be something special and a new start for a beloved yet disappointing series.
Wow, that looks really great! I'd assumed the demo was giving us a pretty good idea of what the game would look like (since it needs to run at 60 FPS on consoles for VR purposes), but this looks way better. Still somewhat doubtful they can achieve that fidelity at 60 FPS, but color me impressed if they can manage it.
How in the world is RE5 not a "quality" game?
I'm so tired of GAF's "I don't like it > objectively bad" shit.
They can't.
The website DualShockers has a lot more pictures, especially of the environment

I can't paste the link for some reason
Will I get to shoot the zombies in any fashion...?
Give me them zombies!
Thanks dusk, this is amazing stuff. It's finally becoming RE. I am still baffled at why they decided to go the boring demo route.
Game is confirmed to have combat by multiple interviews, and the RE7 ERSB Rating Review that went up a few days ago says the game has combat with weapons including pistols, shotguns, explosives, flamethrowers, chainsaws, and more.
The point is they are seemingly incapable of not giving a female model a pronounced butt.

Someday capcom will design a female character that doesn't have the same bubble butt as every other one of their female characters....someday...
Probably because they're trying to grab some new people, since they know the RE fanboys are going to lap this up on day one regardless.
As long as RE7 has some classic staples of the series, it doesn't matter when they reveal them. RE fans will buy it regardless of when Capcom's marketing team decides to show certain aspects of the game.
But who got more excited for RE7 because of that demo, the reception was mostly negative.
The game still isn't being talked about much.
Compared to 4? Definitely a lot worse.
I guess that was the general consensus? I didn't mean to bash the game imposing my own personal view. I liked the game. It's just not up to the highs 4 reached.

This is a bit off-topic, but there's finally a clean rip of Resident Evil 7's 'Save Theme':
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPr6Oq2x4PQ
It's the music them that comes with a RE7 PSN Theme you get when you pre-order the game on PS4. The music theme sounds like a save room theme, and every other RE PSN Theme uses the game's Save Room theme, so it seems likely.

save rooms are back!? yeesss.

Wait, wut?
I thought reception was pretty good?
I wouldn't go that farOh man, please say they are going back to shambling Romero style zombies. Those screens make me so happy.
I feel like there will be save rooms, but players won't have to rely on them. In case they want to quit early.Good news if true, even though the theme would easily be the worst in the entire series by a good amount.
it hardly looked like a ps3 game lol.
