Resident Evil 7 Spoiler Thread

Wow, there are streams for the full game already!? OK, so for those watching, how much of the game is spent running/hiding from the Baker's from what you've seen so far, versus fighting normal enemies? How much of a focus on stealth is there? Also, has anybody tried to down one of the Baker's yet outside of a boss fight? If so, how much ammo did it take and how long do they stay down? These are the questions I want answered the most.

Most of it was either running or fighting Jack Baker so far, you can knock him out. The basement was full of enemies you could permakill.

Does the United Arab Emirates Hero know that neoGAF is watching him play RE7, and they are ordering pitzas, beers, food and stuff meanwhile to enjoy the ride?.....

Did I just see a boss fight with a dude that had giant scissors made out chainsaws?

I was going to work out but I don't see that happening. Plus I got a cat sleeping on my lap. I'm stuck.

What exactly is Madhouse Mode? Just like a very hard mode or something?

Madhouse Mode is the game's hardest difficulty, but it does a number of differences.

Here's how I understand it at this point:

Casual (which I guess is the difficulty whoever the guy is that most GAF'ers are watching on stream):
-Frequent Checkpoints.
-High Regenerating Health (regenerates about a third to a half of your health back, plus regenerates a lot faster).
-Much slower enemies with less frequent attacks and dumber AI
-Less damage from enemy attacks
-Can save at Cassette Recorders whenever you want.

Normal:
-Moderate Checkpoints.
-Moderate Regenerating Health (regenerates a fifth to a fourth of your health back, but a bigger pause in regeneration and much slower than on Casual).
-Normal Speed enemies with Normal attacks (moves over twice as fast than Casual I hear) with more intelligent tracking AI.
-Normal damage from enemy attacks.
-Can save at Cassette Recorders whenever you want.

Madhouse:
-No Checkpoints.
-No Regenerating Health.
-Faster Enemies with Special Attacks (may be able to do more deadly moves) with much smarter AI that are far harder to lose.
-Higher damage from enemy attacks.
-Cassette Recorders can only be saved at if you find a cassette tape, a new item exclusive to Madhouse which takes up inventory space and there's finite of. Basically Typewriters and Ink Ribbons from past games.
-Unconfirmed, but may be some special traps, enemies, and elements you need to survive as well not in other difficulties.

Drinking red wine+coke actually rofl

Also 2148 people watching and strim still alive. Pretty crazy.

What did you get?

Dominos, pepperoni and ham, and sauage and salami. Probably spend the rest of the afternoon eating pizza and cleaning while I watch this stream.

Watching UAEhero play. Dude doesn't seem to know what he's doing lol. Level design seems fun and well put together, with creepy atmosphere. It's also not as dark as the demo could be from what I've seen, which is a good thing. Game looks good from what little I've seen.

Hmm, interesting. Not sure if I want to go Normal or Madhouse now. I'm not fond of constant checkpoints, regenerating health, unlimited saves, etc. in a Horror game, but I also wouldn't want the game to be extremely frustrating the first time through, or miss out on potential changes in enemy placement, level design changes, etc. I kinda wish I could just play on Normal with the aforementioned features turned off. That's not possible, right?

I'll ask and please not spoilery, despite the fact you guys were apparently watching a stream of someone playing on the easiest difficulty with brightness cranked all the way up and lacking music due to PS4 Sharing (music doesn't play for RE7 when sharing via PS4 Share on neither the demo nor final game)....

Does the game interest you now that you've seen some of it, and what do you think? Friend is telling me his thoughts non-spoilery who was watching but curious about you folks. Though from the sounds of it you guys didn't even get to the end of the 3-5 hours press got to play (their section of the demo was ended once they left the greenhouse with Marguerite). So sounds like you guys saw maybe around a fourth of the game.

It's hilariously campy and dumb in a good way, has re styled puzzles(the dog heads are emblems not actual dog heads) and the presentation outside of the meh animations is pretty good. It ended in the Marg section.

Game looks good but it is not what I want out of RE. Obviously there's a way to fight back a bit but from what I've seen it was too much running around and evading you know who. The Japanese stream Had nice dialog.

Honestly? It hasn't really changed my mind about getting the game day one, and I think I can wait til later this year when it gets cheaper. Basic gameplay flow looks alright, but the combat still doesn't interest me.

Hope that those that like what they saw will enjoy what they'll buy in two weeks, though!

Nah, I'm still not interested. I think it will be a good game, especially compared to other games in that style, but I still dislike the idea of the main series following this "new" formula.
