Just.it's capcom. I can see them not even considering that.
I guess that's another possibility that would be interesting. We know nothing of Hunk, and chris having a brother isn't a impossibility.

Man, sounds like it's going to be a dark ending/set up for the next game. Hunk shows up in an umbrella chopper pretending to be Chris to pick up Ethan and his wife. You know they'll never be seen again, lol. Probably get taken to some secret facility and experimented on.
I think Umbrella has either returned or maybe HUNK has revived it and taken over. We can only really speculate at this point.

I think one important question is - what are people's thoughts on Umbrella making a comeback? I don't know how it started and what Umbrella Corps (the game) sets up in terms of giving a reason for why they're coming back. Or who's behind it all.
I am glad Hunk is back though. Mr Death needs to be in the series more as a legitimate rival character in the story. Would be a nice change.

They were due for a comeback. And whatever the E-Necrotoxin is (the RE7 virus), it'll make for really interesting bioweapons. Bring back Ethan and Mia as Nemesis like BOWs in RE8 Capcom!

Umbrella Corps more or less sets it up as Umbrella being back in name.
It makes sense for capcom to just bite the bullet and have them return. Everything else they have tried to establish just falls flat.
At the moment HUNK is the only one we know of.
And it's awesome, 'cause HUNK is awesome.

It looks like it. I never really expect Umbrella to have an active role in the series anymore.
If that's HUNK, then I'm genuinely impressed with Capcom here. What a twist! It's just that it's Capcom, guys. I mean, most of their stories end up being dumb and cheesy, not to mention super predictable (not complaining, I love it, haha). This just seems too awesome to be true, lol. Also, what's with all this talk of Umbrella? Aren't they supposed to be dead and gone, like, post-RE4? This game IS post-RE6, correct?

And is that final boss really the biggest in the series? I'm pretty sure Excella's Uroboros mutation was bigger, as it covered almost an entire freighter and had to be killed with a satellite laser.
So, they came back in Umbrella Corps? I never played that game because it looked like it was really terrible.

Hopefully she got out of a little kid body by this point. Since even if natalia aged, it'd be a bit weird.
Considering that we've had so many games that have other organizations tried to "pick up the pieces" where Umbrella left off, and then just fell flat on their faces soon afterward, it's almost like it just makes sense that finally somebody (maybe the new Albert Wesker clone from UC?) came along and just decided to bring the REAL Umbrella back as a force and show the scrubs how it's done.
If eventually we get to see Umbrella bought down "for good", hopefully we'll get to see it done in a much more satisfying fashion than what we saw last time.
I hope they do that so Barry and Moira can return.

From what I know, the Umbrella Corps are a military unit of Sheng-Ya Pharmaceutical, a rival of Umbrella (and rumored to be "the Organization" Wesker and Ada were originally working with).
The logo from the chopper is from the Umbrella Corps
How or why Sheng-Ya transformed into a new Umbrella Corporation is unknown

Why were the discussions, "leaks", etc so heavy of Chris dying earlier in the game.
Is it possible real Chris shows up earlier in BSAA gear and dies and then Hunk impersonates him later?
Especially as we have seen military/BSAA models compared to "Redfield's" Umbrella as hell gear.
