Resident Evil 7 Spoiler Thread

Wasn't he basically Punished Chris in both 5 & 6 though? Like both of those games were ptsd stories about the loss of a partner / squad. I think 6 actually pulled it off way better though, alcoholic American dickhead drinking his sorrows away in Eastern Europe is a way more interesting place to start that story than the way too subtle loss Chris felt in 5.

That is true. He has been more of less already following that path. But that's part of why I could capcom using that as a reason for his shift to leave the BSAA. It was explained earlier, but Chris talks a lot of shit about them in 5 & 6. So it's makes sense that they did something that maybe broke the camel's back during vendetta.

Are these characters from the RE7 Cedec presentation in the game?

If these aren't in the DLC, they must have been cut content or ideas from the game.

I liked the idea of the Molded, but yeah, the variety is lacking. It's strange - they could have had animal molded, early molded (more human), molded with weak spots (like the regenerator).

The regular enemies felt like the bare minimum that would be acceptable.

Was it ever actually explained just what the molded are/were?

The ship part basically showed they were just humans corrupted by the stuff Evie vomits up. Mia finds the vomit and Alan says something like "great, now we're going to have a lot of her slimy friends."

Still miss Zombies, the Molded weren't that fun to fight, but they were an okay alternative.

Game needed more enemy variety in general as we saw when Lucas cut off the deputy head it had not completely turned into a molded more of a fucked up half half, would have loved even we got variety of fully molded to half modeled to just turning to look more like *zombies* like Mia when she fights you.

That and you can see half of a molded head coming out from the cop's head when you find it in the fridge in the trailer. Safe to say all the molded were once human.

See, my mind kind of fogged up during the ship part. It just became a corridor shooter by that point, and I was getting kind of bored of the 'demon child' cliche, so wasn't really paying attention.

It blows my mind that there's no rocket launcher in this game. Like what?

This game kind of subverts the trope.

You kill the boss with a handgun -- the usually weakest weapon -- called Albert, the name of a character who died to a Rocket Launcher, before taking off in an Umbrella copter. It's like bizarro world.

Yeah, really this would have been the way to go. Have random bits of clothes sticking out, sections of the body that are still more or less normal etc.

Could have really spiced things up even with just a handful of variations per area. Plus you could have story tie in ones, too.

Yup, and after that part where I fought Mia, I thought that more enemies would appear like that. Instead we got a fat molded, crawling molded, molded with crab arm and I think that was it. I can't remember any other enemies in the game. Would have been a nice addition to have a variation of the bugs that were in the one section, like some bigger kinds.

In the end that's what I'm most disappointed about in this game, the variety of enemies just wasn't there.

Replaying the game on Normal, put the Albert back in the box because it was too strong. No save/restart scumming. I could swear that during the Chainsaw fight, Jack's hair turned snow white after hitting the rack next to the large pipe on the wall.

First thing I did after getting out the front door was grab the repair kit, return inside, and trade my shotgun for the broken one. (I'll come back for it later) Had exactly enough coins to get the steroid + stabilizer.

Surprisingly the Albert is kinda garbage on Normal for the final boss. I mean it's not much of a boss fight. But due to its small clip, it doesn't output enough damage to keep eveline away from you. So she ends up biting you pretty easily in both stages of the fight.

Kinda dumb that the same Albert chris drops has a bigger clip.

If you chose Zoey and thus lost Mia forever, Jill appearing at the end instead would've been cool. Meet your new wife Ethan...

Someone mentioned a week ago the enemy variety was like Revelations 1, surprised its actually much less :/

Killed jack and out in the house in 45 mins in my speedrun, no health, no item box run. Shouldn't be too bad it seems. Might be able to get the platinum later this week.

RE7's ship section could've used a Rachel. And like Nemesis, she drops an item if you choose to fight her instead of just running away.
Yep something to make the ship more interesting,a new boss that chases Mia and maybe ends up killed by Ethan. Eveline's pet or something 🐩

I hope somehow at least one dlc has zombies in it. Lol. I just want them to do some really different stuff to mess with the engine since they have the main game out of the way.

I remember Regular molded, then there are the molded with the sword/shield arm thing, the skinny four legged molded, those annoying bugs, the swarms, and then the bosses

Huh, I guess there aren't that many enemy types

REmake had zombies, crimson heads, hunters, snakes, dogs, crows, bees, spiders, chimeras and then the bosses

By far enemy variety and everything starting at the ship section seem to be where even people who like the game go "Sort this stuff out next time capcom"

Those two complaints to me if I disregard the story are big factors as to where I rate it on the list of all RE games.

So, let me get this straight, Mia is a very secret agent/babysitter? Uhhh, okay.

And man, that first video of hers looks nothing like her the rest of the game.

Blond girl looks a lot like A
lex Wesker

But nothing like Natalia

I've been killing everything I see on Normal. These complaints about too little ammo just don't fly, and that was true during my initial blind playthrough as well. Old-school RE did the same thing- just enough ammo to get by early on, then you had binders fulla bullets.

Are you familiar with the term "handler"?

Resident Evil 2 is the only game where the main characters aren't a part of a paramilitary organization or corporation of some sort.
