That makes no sense, it all about preference.
5000 vs 7000 polygons doesnt make the 5000 poly model inferior.
Yes it does.

7000 > 5000

Also...the difference between PC and PS3/360 is not as great as PS3/360 and Wii.
No, but it's still big enough to make any comparison laughable.

The OP made thread and runned away.
And just because the OP likes R2 doesnt make him a PS3 Fanboy.
Stop fighting please ;_; ,lets do a group hug.... guys? a group hug!

Not a bad choice at all. TF2 has some great ones as well.

Your just wrong dude. Jam packed full of wrong.
Actually, I agree with him. The original Crysis had excellent animation and cutscene direction, but it is clear that the budget was dropped significantly for Warhead as the cutscenes animate very poorly. The models DO look awkward in motion during all of the cutscenes. Furthermore, the time of day lighting is vastly inferior to the original game. Warhead still looks nice, but it's certainly not as polished or impressive as the original Crysis.

What about factors such as whether or not they used the polygons cleverly or not. Numbers arent everything dude.

What about normal mapping techniques...shaders...and parallax mapping.
They all factor in when you're comparing character models.
Artstyle also comes into play.

My point is that it's too subjective of a subject.

Crysis wins in all of those...

Crysis

There's the end to your fucking thread.

There's not a single aspect of Crysis's graphics that is beaten by any other game.

Best character models.

Best environments.

Best explosions.

Best water.

Best sky.

Best lighting.

Best shadows.

Best EVERYTHING!!!!!
KZ2 gun model looks better:D :D

Subjective...
It can win all of the technical aspects that it wants.
Still doesnt mean its BETTER.

Artstyle and how well they conveyed the concept art also comes into play.

I get it though, you think Crysis has the best character models....good for you.

My gaming PC consists of a 8800GTS, 4GB of memory and a 3GHz Core 2 Duo and I run Crysis on a mix of medium and high settings at ~30 fps and while it looks damn, damn good, and overall probably better than anything else out there (bar the odd framerate bomb here and there), I didn't think the character models were as good as the majority of MGSIV, Nariko and Kai in Heavenly Sword (at least in the cutscenes, and I should mention Bohan really as well) and even Nathan Drake in Uncharted. Technically I'm sure they're probably not as detailed on paper but I much prefer them. Crysis for me was all about the vegetation and water and the environment in general. Maybe the character models just didn't stand out as much because the rest of the game looked so good.

Resistance 2 certainly isn't up there with any of them for me though I must say, and is nowhere near the best ever imo. They look good and are cleverly rendered on limited resources (meaning they can throw a huge number round at once as the game shows), but really, nowhere near some of the other games mentioned as far as I am concerned.

Let's not be too hasty, the way Chris in RE5 looks in-game is pretty damn amazing considering the game is multiplatform. :D

But most of those are main characters this is a random chimera.

Its not the best but for a standard enemy it is very good imo for console.

This thread is going fast.
L4D is comming to the PS3 ? ;_;

Nope, they look like poo. They look technically impressive, with lots of polys and high res textures and facial movements, but it doesn't look believable. All the people in crysis look like a creepy robot with a Hollywood face mask on. Whereas a game like MGS4 has believable looking characters.

Get a better computer and/or glasses dude.

Why?
I dont want to you guys fight over this. >_<
Its obvious that Crysis is the best looking game right now,the ammount of crazy techs on that game is amazing.

R2 looks unbelievable at times, and pretty "meh" at others. It's clear that their engine is capable of some nice stuff, but their release cycle just seems to be not enough time when they are trying to make 3 games in 1.

This.

quoted so he doesnt escape ban through edit. If this is indeed ban worthy.

Again, L4D is comming to the PS3 ? Because it looks amazing.

No word as of yet. Valve have implied that they don't like working on the PS3 and that they don't have the staff required, however, if EA were to pick it up and port it like they did with "The Orange Box" then there's still a chance. But at the moment it's not looking good.

have to disagree with the OP...crysis has much more impressive character models...

Also, have to disagree with the invincibility of crysis...Ive played both crysis and warhead...that level in KZ 2 in the desert looks as impressive, or more so than anything I saw aesthetically in both games...crysis, wins out because of larger scale...but the effects in KZ2 make it look more cg to me than crysis does... crysis lacks some atmospheric effects in my opinion...

Does the 360 version even have character models like that? I'm thinking no, so I wouldn't get your hopes up if you think that's the kind of character models you'll be seeing.

Where was the insult?
I could've sworn using the word "gay" offensively was ban worthy, but hey, I could be wrong.

It's just there as a little snapshot in time if nothing else.

It doesn't, actually. Those facial expressions ARE quite nice (always the case with Source engine games), but the rest of the game feels really dated from a visual perspective. Lots of low-poly environments, flat surfaces, and flat lighting. In person, it just doesn't impress. The impressive details (facial expressions) are rarely seen during gameplay. Basically, the game focuses on details that add little to the overall visual package.

Things become even worse when you see it in motion as everything has this almost weightless feeling as they fling around the map.

It's a very fun game, though. :D

I don't think that he tried to use it as an offense. If he called him "manliest character model" instead no one would give a shit. But hey, back seat modding is also ban worthy.

That post was a bit assish. Touche.

It's 2am here, the quality of my posts slowly degrade over the amount of time I go without sleep, and it's starting to show. :lol

Time for sleep.
