Im thinking on doing a superhuman difficulty run, which bonus option unlocks ?

So, I've changed the controls method to use custom ones... and it doesn't work. wtf ?

edit: So it looks like you have to select it ingame, can't put it on default in the menu... wtf is this shit
You can set a default control profile for each separate mode, you just need to select them in each.

For the "Primarch Hunter" trophy (Kill 200 Elite Chimerans in the Cooperative Campaign), do you have to kill them yourself? Or does the team just have to kill them?

Spec op usually get the kill. But medic is easiest to level.

I am missing 3 intels in campaign. I'm leaving them for somehing to do when I have to beat superhuman. Im almost at the end on difficult and I spent way more time on medium and died alooooot more.

So there's no way to tell when you killed one (no ribbon unless its a Titan) and no way to tell how many you've killed so far...right?

If so...Lame

If you killed it, you get the kill exp (it's red).
The total mite be in the stats page, not sure.

You can see how many have you killed on the coop stats in your profile

Well, you get the red XP points if you get a kill. Also, I tracked how many elite chimera I killed using the co-op leaderboards. I got my trophy for that before I reached 200 kills.

Another tip...don't play against JD93 or RoDiddy
J D 9 3 got it, go time : ) at 9k kill, then it's platinum time. I split between Team and single DM, but i'm way better @ single. I have 1.9 in DM but only 1.75 in team. I'll send a message when i get on.

Thanks to all those who answered my question. Man...I thought competitive was fun (stayed on for 10,000 kills)...

But I am instantly loving cooperative that much more.

After a lot of flip flopping on this...A+++ effort Insomniac. My GOTY (tied with LBP) and I don't care what anyone else says.

Don't worry about it. You don't get anything for a Superhuman finish except for the Trophy.

Oh i see....
Maybe i will do the Superhuman run slowly... like one level each week :D

I don't think this is true, I got that trophy and I always play as a medic so I barely hit them.
Same here. I'm sure that, as long as you contribute some of the damage, it counts against the trophy.

Yep, it seems that you dont have to kill the Elite Chimeras yourself for them to be counted towards your stats :) I dont think you even have to do any damage to the Elite Chimeras for them to count as towards your stats, it seems that it is enough that your team mates will kill them for you.

I just played a few rounds of Cooperative mode in Resistance 2 and i tried to do as little damage as possible to the Elite Chimeras, and i still i got about 10 Elite Chimeras killed counted towards my stats. I am not 100% sure exactly how many Elite Chimeras there was in that round though, but that were some Elite Chimera that i didnt do any damage to at all and i think that these Elite Chimeras got counted towards my stats on how many Elite Chimeras that i have killed eventhough that i didnt do any damage to them.

EDIT: I can add that i was under the impression that you had to kill the Elite Chimeras yourself for them to be counted towards your kill stats :)

Ran into members of the GAF clan Greg and Click in a ranked match on Chicago last night... both you guys are pretty good. I think out of about 30ish, Click came first, Greg was third and I was fourth. But my team won :D
BTW Click, you are a slippery/tricky bastard :p

I need to play with GAF people more, you guys give much better competition than most of the other players.

Profile => Stats => Cooperative

Why did many critics bash the single player campaign? It may not be amazing but it's damn fun and enjoyable to play. I just finished my first play through and now I'm going to head into the co-op campaign. I'll definitely hit the single campaign again for another play, though.

I agree.
I feel most critics over-bashed the game because they set their expectations TOO high (gears 2 quality high for them).
The game is a definite improvement in all aspects over the first game. Everything is bigger and better. I feel while many reviewers gave it 'good' scores, they did feel let down by it.

so you're telling me reviewers should lower their standards?

In the Idaho single player campaign level, behind one of the dumpsters there is a
easter island/tiki (or what i shall call it) statue
, does anyone know if there is a special reason why this thing is there? It seems to stand alittle out from the rest of the 50's theme in the level/game, but i think it looks pretty cool, so i wondered if this thing was put into the game for a special reason :)

Is co-operative still being played a lot? What do you guys think the longevity for that mode will be?

I think it could have a good life as long as they keep adding new maps/objectives or if they can balance it properly new classes.

I havnt played co-operative too much myself lately in general, but i hosted about 3 or 4 co-operative games last night with 8 players, and it didnt take too long (maybe 1-2 minutes) before i had 6-7 people who had joined my game :)

I'm still playing it. I just finished completing my spec-ops.

At this point, I'm finding it pretty repetitive. Each mission is built out of a shuffled number of set-pieces. However, at this point, I've seen all the set-pieces so shuffling these same pieces around does not produce anything new. I wish the individual set-pieces could be adjusted by the game more - such as spawn points, objectives, etc.

Yeah, I seldom struggle to get a full eight man team for co-op. For me personally I'm not sure what incentive I'll have to continue playing once I have at least one class up to level 30 (They should up the level cap to 40 and add new perks, then new maps tweaked for those levels) - when that happens I'll switch over to competitive (First game I'll have played competitively online since RTCW on the original Xbox).

Thanks.

Are you able to reset your class level back to 1 if you wanted to?

Also, has there been any dev comments re: implementating difficulty levels for co-op?

No problem! :)

I dont think you can reset your class back to level 1.

About the difficulty levels, i dont know, but i havnt heard or read anything about it atleast.

Yes, but then, players of the same class level could opt for different levels of challenge. Would make a good difference for players would you prefer a more casual playthrough or for those who want an insane challenge (which would give more lasting value, I think).

Finished my second playthrough on hard and I seemed to like it alot more. I think I just got to notice alot more stuff going on. I didn't get so damn frustrated by the titans this time throughout the game.

I was goign to save the superhuman run through for a later time because I am burnt out. But i read that you can get the superhuman trophy by just playin the last chapter. That will save alot of time.

I agree with once I level my medic up to 30, im not sure what more there is to do. I am already pretty tired of replaying the co op levels. Especially since the last couple of levels you need a ton of grey tech.

So that will leave me to get on to competitive. I am not that good but now that I can concentrate on this mode I'm sure I will have more fun.

It is like the game that keeps giving, I have already put a ton of hours into it and right when i start to get bored, I can move onto competitive for probably a ton more hours of playtime.

The other classes are so different that the approach is different. I'm not much of a tank person myself, so the grind for spec ops (since I have my maxed out medic) is real tough. Just ignore orick for a while if you were grindin' for gray tech.

I'd always found Orick pretty good for gray tech. The amount of Primarchs there guarantees a fair few, although I guess it's one of the longer sets of missions.

Ye, i think one of the long Orick missions got like 10 Primarchs (this is another word for the Elite Chimeras right?) or something. I am not so sure on how many Primarchs the shorter Orick missions got though.

just finished my superhuman run and loved the OMGWTFBBQ trophy :lol

actually I liked it more this time around, maybe because I knew where the "cheap" encounters take place and didn't get as frustrated.

finally got round to playing & completing this a few days ago, haven't been able to get online but really enjoyed the single player campaign. died so many times but really had a lot of fun playing it.

For a team of 3 in coop, would you recommend our healer uses Ring of Life or Chloroform? He has been using the ring but we generally only die when we're overrun with chimera coming in close with melee =/
