Improved batter life and build quality, that's all you really need to do Sony.
Really trying to figure out what the 2nd light is for. Seeing the touchpad in the dark? VR features?
Would be silly if the battery life is even worse due to it.
Is the D-Pad different? The buttons look wider.
As I wrote in the other thread, this might be because the console itself no longer has a light strip, and the information from that is now being fed to the front light bar of the controller..
thumb sticks are different for sure
Yes, another light, that's precisely what DS4 needs. As long as the build quality and battery life are better...
Purely for vr.Really trying to figure out what the 2nd light is for. Seeing the touchpad in the dark? VR features?

Wait... That was their first thought? To add another light? You know the one thing people complained about with the original controller.
Not to fix the horrible build quality, tearing analog sticks and squeaky triggers?
What the hell Sony.
That seems... pointless.
One year later

So you can see it? The current light isnt visible holding it normally. I think it's obvious.I mean, I don't care about that but... what's the point of this LED?
Ugly console redesign, PS+ price increase and now they're adding another lightbar to the controller, which no one asked for.
Good job, guys.
People are still mad about the original lightbar even though we now understand it's true purpose? Fair enough, I guess.

My thoughts exactlyThe original light was for the camera. But they allowed developers use it for in game notifications like turning red when hurt or green when everything is OK. But you cant see it good when using the controller right. This would allow the user see that light while using it it correctly.
4 hour battery life incoming
