Co-creator Justin Roiland stated that he has been writing the storyline for "Rick and Morty" Season 3 since Nov. 2, 2015. With that being said, Adult Swim officially announced that they already ordered for a renewal last October. Meanwhile, Dan Harmon teased some spoilers and revealed that they might make a video game for the adult series.

Co-creator Justin Roiland has finally started writing for "Rick and Morty" Season 3 since November 2, 2015. According to Master Herald, Roiland announced the news on Twitter that he is already working on the storyline. In addition to that, Adult Swim officially confirmed the show's renewal last September 2015 even before the 2nd installment ended last October 2015.

On the other hand, co-creator Dan Harmon teased some details about the episodes for "Rick and Morty" Season 3. As reported by Yibada, Harmon shared that his favorite character is Beth Smith, the girl who is responsible behind Rick and his grandson's weird space adventures.

Aside from that, Harmon also revealed his idea of creating a "Rick and Morty" game with unlimited dimensions, Enstarz reported. Harmon stated, "I would like to see a marriage between Minecraft as the lo-fi thing in exchange for this amazing -- the creation of the world as you walk into it. Blending that technology, you have a portal gun and you can shoot it -- you can go to really specific dimensions but you can also just go to random ones that are put together."

A co-creator revealed that they are already writing the storyline. Moreover, the network also announced that they renewed the show even before season 2 has ended. While the other co-creator teased some details about "Rick and Morty" Season 3. He also shared his idea of creating a video game for the show.

As of now, "Rick and Morty" Season 3 with 19 episodes has no official release date, although, reports suggest that the show will go back on air in March 2017 exclusively on Adult Swim.

19 episodes though....That's good to hear!

I want the team that did Stick of Truth to make a Rick and Morty game.

I would prefer them to take longer and keep the same episode count, considering that each season is half good and half garbage episodes like anatomy park and tiny rick.

Read this on reddit earlier, but someone in the Rick and Morty reddit is also saying the 19 episode thing might have been a miscommunication?

Its reddit so obviously take with a grain of salt, but if that is the case I thought it should be kept in mind.

Different dimensions should mean some form of procedural generated worlds correct? If so, that would be cool. Obviously we would have some of the worlds we've seen already like the spider world and small world but then we would see many other worlds that they haven't had a chance to fully develop and shown to us so what better than having them be procedurally generated?

2 years for the next season tho.... I can wait!

Why so long for 19 22 minute episodes?

Budget? They don't send their shit to get animated in Korea?

Damn it, Rick wasn't kidding about 1 and a half years.

As an anime fan I've been trained for these waits for ages.

Waited 10 years for new Dragon Ball.

Waited 15 years for new Hunter X Hunter.

Still waiting for a new season of Berserk (it's coming guys, just you wait and see).

2 years is nothing.

I think it's taking that long because of Dan Harmon's schedule rather than purely about resources.

Interesting that they're doing 19 episodes now. I remember hearing early on that Rick and Morty was Adult Swim's push into having their own higher profile shows (like Bob's Burgers or Futurama tier), and that's why it's runtime is the traditional 22 minutes. So I wonder if the 19 episode order is yet another push.

Nothing compares to Hunter x Hunter!

I refuse to believe this many people are shocked an animated show thats done in the states and frequently has complicated sequences like "theres 64 versions of the same scene playing out at once and each one is slightly different" is going to take the same amount of time to animate Season 3 as it did Season 2.

you mean that early access minecraft clone that released on steam last year?

look i dont know much about it, i was just cracking a dumb joke because it lined up with Dan's "Minecraft+Portal Gun" pitch.

19 episodes? awesome.

I'm okay with this taking a while, make the season fucking amazing.

I waited 8 years for Guts to get off the fucking boat, this is nothing.

They've mentioned making games for a while

that article reads like it was written by a bot or something

i think the only reports about a march 2017 release come from the statements made by mr poopybutthole at the end of season 2? not sure how seriously that was meant to be taken, but the gap between seasons 1 and 2 was almost that long so it could end up being accurate

the "19 episodes" thing is a complete misunderstanding of what Harmon said about "joining the exclusive club of shows that have more than 19 episodes"

‘Rick and Morty’ Improvised Episode Coming Next Month at Animation Breakdown 2015

It turns out that show creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon will be participating in Animation Breakdown 2015 to be held in Los Angeles next month where they shall be representing “Rick and Morty.”

However, in order to highlight their participation, they shall reportedly feature an improvised episode of “Rick and Morty” which shall be shown during the event. It would be nothing like any episode shown during Season 2, nor will it be an advance episode of the upcoming Season 3, which is why some are referring to it as “Rick and Morty” episode 2.5.

The information was disclosed by Cinefamily, where the December event shall be held, via Twitter and its own website, notes iDigital Times.

It's too bad that this topic was made without checking the season 2 thread, or else it would have noted that at least the number of episodes is completely made up.

Plus, the start date is attributed to unsourced "reports".

I would love it that after all this waiting for Season 3... we get an episode in storyboard form.

You waited 1.5 years and it still wasn't enough time :p

That is far far to long to make me wait. Boo would like a game like south park did with the paper mario vibe.

As long it's not Telltale, get a real adventure game dev.

This so much, would be disappointed to see yet another franchise I love go the way of Telltale shallow cookie-cutter style for all their games, make it something along the lines of The Simpsons Game and we are set.
