Whats so funny?
.It looks like RIM may have partnered with Scalado to implement its tech, which would mean BB 10′s coolest new feature is likely headed to Android and other platforms soon. We reached out to Scalado and will update if we hear back.
Whats so funny?
Apple fan.I'm not trying to point fingers, but this random hate for a random company is kind of irritating. He could at least justify his position instead of "THERE DOOMED". Just my 2 cents.![]()
It is funny to think that his source has any objectivity.
Apple fan.
Did you read the article? They simply state it's not RIM's tech. They partnered with a Swedish company that has demo'd the same camera features on Android in the past. Unless RIM bought the company in question, I doubt it will remain exclusive to Blackberry OS 10.
It explains his random hate.Me or him?
I love Apple, and it's one of my favourite companies, but I'm not an Apple fanboy.
So.... Why the lol? They brought in a lot of other developers and showed other upcoming apps that will be cross platform too. I fail to see the humor in getting other developers on board.
iphone is for cool people
android is for poor people
blackberry is for corporate people
this will always be the case.

I could understand the 'lol' and the patronizing tone of that website if BB10 depended a lot on the exclusivity of that feature. Obviously they're going to promote something like that as if it's unique, particularly when it hasn't yet been announced for other platforms. That's how marketing/branding works.
What about nerds who buy iPhones, or rich people who buy android? Or all the kids in the UK with BBs?
Photoshop has existed for more than 20 years and you're bringing this up now?I could understand the 'lol' and the patronizing tone of that website if BB10 depended a lot on the exclusivity of that feature. More importantly, am I the only one who has a problem with camera technology creating a moment that never existed? Somehow fake smiles and non-candid moments got even more divorced from reality. *shudder
Why is everyone in here so salty?Photoshop has existed for more than 20 years and you're bringing this up now?
It looks so stale and uninspired.
Very cute of them to try, but this isn't going anywhere.
I wouldn't call them "fanboys" as much as "people who use the phone given to them by their work". BBM and Email alone makes plenty of corporate people happy.Do Blackberry fanboys exist?
onscreen keyboard looked pretty nice.
I await the android equivalent
What is important is that it’ll run the same OS as the PlayBook once BlackBerry 10 arrives, and that the screen will feature the same 1280×768 resolution, too. That’s a whopping 355PPI, and substantially better than the 720P displays on many of today’s smartphones.

I mean when you start at a corporation what's the first thing they give you? A Blackberry nine times out of ten (although this is slowly changing).
1280x768the playbook is 1024x600.
Yeah, those were probably for the dev alpha. Completely different aspect ratio.
No, it's quickly changing. I have friends in IT at many Fortune 1000 companies, and it's been a mass exodus over the past year. It's an iPhone world out there. Even at my state government, they are flushing RIM this year and going iPhone.
RIM = dead company walking.

I feel really bad for all the kids that went to the university of waterloo a few years ago hoping to land a secure job at RIM. It's a good thing that Waterloo is actually a really good university.
My niece goes there. Her boyfriend did get a job at RIM.
Yeah! Go RIM!
Buncha Apple fanboys in here.
More like buncha of people living in the present, not as far back as where RIM is when it comes to the smartphone race.Yeah! Go RIM!
Buncha Apple fanboys in here.
Or people who've had to carry a Blackberry. Nothing makes most people anti-RIM faster than using one of their products.
I'd say "o rly?" and throw my blackberry at you but I really like it

The majority of people I always see hating on Rim and blackberry are apple fanboys, Blackberry's are still good phones especially like the 9900.Or people who've had to carry a Blackberry. Nothing makes most people anti-RIM faster than using one of their products.
BB will not be dead within a year like everyone else says corporate execs will still use them and a lot of individuals still use them for BBM alone*
*Never understood why this has taken off whereas a whole mirad of IM clients which run on all kinds of platforms failed but along comes BBM and whatsapp and they manage some kind of success
Does it have an ethernet port?
Apparently this OS is so alpha, the prototype units they're handing out to developers can't make phone calls or connect to wireless networks. The keyboard they are touting? Not ready either.

I just don't understand what developers are supposed to do with it if there's no wifi, can't make calls, and isn't even representative of what BlackBerry 10 is purported to be. I'm half-expecting to hear that it can't execute compiled code or something.
