Riptide GP2 (Vector Unit) out 23rd January on Xbox One

Whoa, $5?

Damn, that's a lot cheaper than I was expecting.

Day one for sure and the footage is looking damn good, but I'll never, ever be able to take advantage of the six player splitscreen.

It'll just sit there taunting me...

Any graphical upgrades from the PC version, added tracks, anything? Or is this the same exact game?

Their twitter/youtube says that they added more "details" and changed a few things for the X1 version.

Not sure what. I'm in for $5. My kids/wife can have fun with this. My 7 year old will love it.

I might check this out for that price, it's definitely a nice mix of Jet Moto and Hydro Thunder.
It was fairly fun on PC if you are particularly into water teaching games (i am). I wouldn't double dip unless I had enough reason.

Ok so it seems it doesn't have online multiplayer. The initial announcement said online and the Steam version has it but it seems to have been omitted from this release

5 bucks and people complaining about it because of the lack of online modes?

Geez. It's 5 dollars guys. Insta buy.

No online means no online achievements, and that's a plus in my book.

I'm only half-serious.

Or am I?

$5 for local multiplayer/ I'm in. i hate the fact that so few games have local MP these days.

Local MP, the vinyl of gaming.

..and just like vinyl, it'll hopefully thrive again as a healthy niche.

So one of the most demanding tablet games gets 6 player split screen on consoles @ 1080p/60fps? Sure puts mobile in perspective, not that I didn't know that anyways, but still.

$5 = sold.

I would have paid 15 for online. I've already played the PC version, so I don't have much reason to double dip, if any.

Quick tip - I've noticed that you're normally quicker by avoiding the jumps as you don't lose time in the air. You miss out on boost, sure, but it seems to give a quicker lap that way.

Game is a lot of fun. Definitely worth $5.

Is this true after upgrading the boost skills?

So, it seems online multiplayer is being considered for the future, perhaps people should give them a tweet and let them know they want it?

Im having a blast btw, not that far off completing the career mode, haha

Snagged one of their free codes on Twitter last night :)

I'm not seeing any noticeable changes at all. Visuals looks basically the same to me. Still fun. Hoping for an online patch.

I loved HTH so this was a no-brainer. It's a lot of fun so far just 2 series in. I hope these guys are working on another Hydro Thunder.

I can't help but think back to the Wake Race demo from Rare thinking they should have made a full arcade-like game out of it.

For five bucks, I'll check it out (it is a shame there is no online play, but it could just be a fun game to pick up and play from time to time)

After playing a little bit of it, you can tell that it's a port of a mobile game, but I recommend it for five bucks if you really dug the Jet Moto and/or Hydro Thunder games (and ironically, it feels like you're playing a sixth generation game, which is pretty cool)
