Rising Thunder - new PC, UE4, Free-to-Play fighter from Seth Killian

There should really be an option to press all three attacks for super and some combination of two buttons for grabs. Playing with 8 buttons on anything just feels weird.

Chel doing her best damn SFIV Ryu impression. Uppercut FADC into fireball super all day.

She can get her Soul Fist on too if you jump cancel from a fireball straight into another one.

Wow, I won my first two matches then proceeded to get wrecked in the next 4. The people I'm playing against are way too good for my skill level.

So who are all the robots homages of?

Crow: Eva-01
Chel: Chell and GladOS
Vlad: Tetsujin 28-go
Edge: Gundam, with Zero's color scheme
Dauntless: Sentinel?
Talos: ?

i definitely agree. maybe all three specials = super, and all three normals = grab

Dauntless is more reminiscent of a Real Steel robot, down to the boxing fighting style. All the other comparisons are spot on, but Edge reminds me more of a Power Rangers style Megazord.

Talos, though...can't think of an inspiring robot.

Tried this out...won a match, then lost a match and the game crashed, probably making it look like I rage quit. Off to a good start!

I did 2 ranked matches and lots of training mode. I am sold. This game is AWESOME! Really easy to play and the matchmaking is so darn quick! I hope this game is super successful. Also i'm going to main crow until a japanese robot is released

I'm hoping for a Zone of Ender's robot.

Feel like 1/3rd of the time you get to the second match.

I see a lot of countdown from 15 and then back to the menu.

is it just not connecting to the next match? or are they leaving

tried my first match. anywhere from 100 to 350 ping. i dont know how to combo anything so i just mashed my jab as edge and occasionally reacted to crow's fireballs with the dash special because the game is going at like 1/4th speed

Got the invite today. Is this easy to play with a Keyboard? My cousing borrowed my Qanba :/

Stick doesn't really give you anything extra other than just being used to playing on a stick. Keyboard might even better, less error on directions.

Ok well I tried Xmapper to bind the Hitbox buttons the keys, and it works in everything else (typing in general, Dota 2) but not this game. Anyone get a hitbox to work with this?

I wish simple motions were in as something optional since it would feel a little more satisfying, but I'm having fun so far. Talos is a blast to play.

the main thing I want is the ability to map throw and super to button combinations. It's awkward using all 8 buttons of my stick

Talos could be close too the Tallgeese with that mohawk. Love the designs so far and cant wait to see the addons they have planned.

Have any of the doubters that posted on the previous pages of this thread tried this game? I'm wondering if the game is exactly what you expected, or a pleasant surprise.

For the record I haven't tried the game, and I'm on the fence regarding the vision of the creators, in terms of removing some of the barriers to entry in the gameplay.

I have. So far, it's not bad, they've absolutely got the Capcom feel, but I can't help but feel like the one button thing is holding it back in some ways. I would repeat a previous poster's desire for an alternate way to input supers or throws with multiple button presses so that the game is actually 6 buttons. I also don't like cooldowns at all, both for me or for my opponent. I've mostly spent time playing Crow, but I will put in sme time with Vlad eventually.

I don't understand kinetic advance I have tried double tapping forward after a special with both joystick and keyboard can't get any dash canceling...

You're probably inputting it too late. While the window is large you need to put it in very early.

Bait and punish or use multi hitting move on it.

Punish with what.

Edit: But no seriously, playing Dauntless I would really like to know how to answer that forward heavy armored kick. Since you have a ton of pushback when blocked I don't think there are any normals in range to punish it. Jumping in against it is also super risky as it and the armor are active for a very long time. The invincibility on most Dauntless specials is also super short so I am not sure if it would outlast the active duration on it.

Thank you benevolent youtube combo videos.

I'm calling it a night. Game's a ton of fun. Just hope they add lobbies/private matches sooner rather than later.

I haven't tried it, but I wouldn't want to either. Flight and flight cancels are too much fun. H fc j.H to whatever wrecks people who haven't learned how to not mash on wake up.

Combine with throws, tried it against vlad and edge and it works well. Using Super on their wakeup is so much fun, I wonder if it works better than using it when you wakeup yourself.

You're going to find that you'll run into issues once people start punishing arm swing on block.

not enjoying this game at all, don't know how to do shit, can't win a single round, about to uninstall this game.

Wait until release. You're going to be hard pressed to win at all since the majority of players are people who already play fighting games. I'm sure they'll have ingame tutorials and stuff once the game launches.
