Rising Thunder - new PC, UE4, Free-to-Play fighter from Seth Killian

How do you deal with Talos' wake-up super when your knocked down and he's right up in your face?

EDIT: Well to be specific, what kind of options do you have beyond wake-up DP?

I have a feeling they'll let you see your opponent's cooldowns/kinetic bar eventually. This game's about making everything super transparent. Players who try really hard will know ability cool-downs and can gauge meter gain so I'd imagine they'd really want everyone to have access to that information. Stun bars, too.

And there will never be same-screen play as long as moves like Crow's invis exists.

You don't need to be a tournament player to want local play. I just want to be able to play my friends on the same screen when we're hanging out
Well, you can introduce your friends to Street Fighter / MK / Tekken / Guilty Gear / etc...

They said since day one that the game was built with online in mind, i don't get why people are expecting same-screen play.

It was made by Seth Killian and the Canon bros who run EVO. It's going to have local play.

Man the ranking system is stupid. 1 point winning against someone way higher than me, 1 point winning someone who is carbon V. How does that make sense?

Man, this game is so much fun. I just decided to pick up Chel and I'm having a blast. I can't wait to give the rest of the cast a solid try down the line.

The best of 3 setup has changed the way I feel about ranked. My salt factor drops about 95% when I get another chance against someone who just beat me. This has to become the new standard for online fighting games.

Two codes.

H2MJ5-ODGQM-1FNGV-6SV45-4WNPM
TB3X3-V9H9S-S8SCP-ANV2E-YJMW8

Say which you took or I will hunt you down and torture you to death.

Its a fighter? Not really an unreasonable thing to expect. Far from it.

Yes, just like League of Legends with the LAN client they use for tournaments, but local play like a Street Fighter ? I hope not.
One of the key aspects of the game is the cooldown management, and also stuff like Crow's invisibility. And i expect some crazy things later (A stealth pet you can control ? Invisible traps ?). I don't want them to balance the game around same-screen combat.

"Go play something else" is such a shit thing to say. I hope you know that. Very obnoxious way to defend something.

Yeah, they did, but considering the history of the genre it's a completely fair thing to expect. Whatever, I respect them for trying something new and I've accepted this is a thing that will most likely never have single screen local play. It's not like this a deal breaker for me, just makes me less excited about the game overall.

And I will go play something else with my friends, but I don't need you to snarkily tell me to do so.

There will never be a competitive scene for this game if same screen local matches aren't possible. Without an option for local play there won't be tournaments, and without a scene this game would die. They could technically add a LAN option, but I can't see arcades/events setting up PCs and using LAN for one game unless the game had a huge amount of demand.

Setting it up like a Japanese style arcade cabinet would mean they wouldn't have to compromise on that.

It's not 2008 anymore, you can have a competitive scene online if the netcode is great. And i think that's why they are trying to achieve.

Yes, a LAN versus setup is the way to go.
