Robinson the Journey. A stunning PSVR game.

This sounds like a great 8.0 game if it was priced at $30 or so.

I was about to say screw it and buy the game, but it's really $60.00 for the digital download and $30.00 for the physical retail?? Who wants a physical boxed copy of a VR game? I went all digital for VR, and this pricing doesn't even make any sense.

I don't understand what's happening with publishers and digital pricing. I've complained about Street fighter 5 numerous times, and how it's 60.00 on the PSN store, but 20.00 everywhere else. I don't get it...

Physical is best for VR games, as you can trade them in 2 hours later when you've finished them completely, and get some of your money back.

Got our Robinson Review up. Long story short, game has some very neat scenes, but seems pretty experimental at this point.
You're one of the very few people I've heard of that gets sick from skip-rotation and feels comfortable with smooth(most people have the exact opposite reaction, myself included), but this just goes to show how far we still have to go with artificial locomotion in VR - when we still get opposite reaction to some approaches in terms of motion-comfort, it's hard to describe it as much of a science yet.

Haven't installed the game yet, but found this article
Hopefully it makes the Laika seesaw less buggy. I've spent a collective hour or two trying to complete it to no avail.

Speaking of which, can anyone tell me what I might be missing as far as the HIGS puzzle in the Tar Pits is concerned? I fully completed the electrical circuit, but it's still showing as un-checked in the Progress menu.

That was actually my co host who reviewed it. I didnt catch it at the time, but since reading your comment you are totally right. I'll ask him about it later. We actually have weirdly different reactions to VR as well (I get very strong sense of "being there", where he has a greater separation of "this is a videogame") , wonder if that has anything to do with it.

Oh shit! Workforce Gaming! I love your guys' banter! I actually realllllly enjoyed and subsequently linked your videos to my buddies where you compared the PSVR to other headsets.

You have no idea how much I like this comment, sending this off to Brad.

I finally had a chance to sample this and was pretty floored by the visuals. Definitely feels like a top tier PC VR experience on a console. I'd like to pick it up for myself to play at some point but, admittedly, the price feels rather steep (69 Euro at a local shop for retail).

VR pricing is tricky since you will likely sell less but, at the same time, people might be less likely to take a chance. At 30 or even 40, I would impulse buy something like this.

Still very cool looking game. I also enjoyed the bits where you zoom out to a distant perspective giving the player the sense of looking into a diorama. Very neat.

The middle option for rotation also works super well for me. You still get rotational movement but it does not make me sick as with full right stick free rotation. Much better solution than simply rigidly snapping the camera.

Pretty sure I got this for $35 on Amazon pre-order. But I buy physical so yea.

Got a Neo but not a PS VR yet so can't tell anyone how it is.

I got the game on amazon for $32 (prime). It's a good thing too, because I still can't play it. I've tired several times... While it seems like a fun game and looks great on the Pro, I get really sick after 10 minutes or so no matter which control settings I use. This is the only PSVR game that has done this to me, and I've played a lot of the launch games including RIGS, Driveclub, and Battle Zone. Super disappointing.

Finished the game. got it for 60€ here in Europe, which is definitely a bit too much for a short game that, compared to film, feels more like the first episode of a show rather than a self-contained movie.

The graphics are easily the best for PSVR, and the game produces some impressive vistas. The massive long-neck dinosaurs were my favorite example. I just wished I didn't have the scanner in my face all the time. That took away from the immersion.

However, the gameplay is slow, shallow, and tedious. Also, and probably most disappointingly, for a game about dinosaurs there were just not enough dinosaurs in it. I went in expecting some thrilling encounters with massive predators. Yet most of the time you are just walking around and scanning stuff. The last level of the game was the only one going in the direction that I expected, but it was way too short. And the
obligatory encounter with the T-Rex was very underwhelming.

The controls also had issues. The climbing mechanic sometimes just refused to work. The gravitation gun mechanics felt awkward and clumsy. Laika's controls didn't work at all most of the time. As for walking, I went with the free controls. They gave me a bit of nausea, but I managed to adjust and could play for ~1 hour without a pause.

Graphically impressive, but not necessarily a good example for AAA VR gaming. Felt more like another demo with uninspired gameplay.
