Rock Band 3 ships October 26, 2010 + Pre Order Details

Simultaneous Australian launch? Hell yes.

Hope the keyboard bundle is not too expensive here, though I don't doubt it will be.

Jesus, October 26th is going to be a monster day on my wallet:

Rock Band 3
Back to the Future Blu Ray
Alien Anthology Blu Ray

(hears wallet crying from across the room)

wtf, there better be a way for us yuros to get hold of New Order without flying to north America and preordering at Gamestop!

How does it feel, to treat you like they do?

I'm just not as interested in these games as I used to be, I don't know if I'll bother preordering this one.....

• Burning Down the House by Talking Heads
• My Own Summer by Deftones
• Blue Monday by New Order

Oh shit preordered.

I'm not rejoicing about the Australian release yet. Will wait to hear as to whether we'll actually get the keyboard.

It's totally up to MadCatz if they want to release it here.

@ll be buying the Keyboard bundle, seems like a nice change of pace from the regular guitar. Once I master Pro mode on that (could take years....) I'll move onto the real guitar in some form. So that should take me up to my forties to master that.

I've got the next 15 years of gaming sorted with this one game that's released in October, I can't wait.

I REALLLLLLY hope those songs aren't exclusives. I want to get Burning Down the House, but it makes better financial sense to get the game from Amazon.

I want those songs, especially Burning down the House, but don't want to give my business to Gamestop. I shop at Amazon. These better be available to everyone quickly.

P.S. Just saw Iron Maiden and Dream Theater Sunday night. Kick-ass show.

So happy Australia is getting this.

But are we getting the games and bundles? >_>

(Also guys, just a quick question, if I buy a UK copy of RB2 is there a way to transfer all my RB1 songs over to it?)

But When You Were Young is my most wanted song.

And the only one I want from RB1...
You can hack your Wii, install RawkSD and just rip whatever songs you want from any game. You can also install custom songs.

It's worth looking into.

They go into the $400+ range actually.

If we're getting one of the ones that retails for ~$150 as the basis for this, it ain't worth buying.

I think the only Squiers that list at that range are custom/vintage/classic ones. There are a lot of Squiers that live in the $150-$200 list range and who buys a guitar at list price?

I'm with JeTmAn81; $250 sounds about right. You don't think they'd go to custom/vintage level with this one, do you?

In for Amazon if that Deftones song becomes regular DLC.

In for Gamestop if Deftones is exclusive.

Why couldn't they have picked 3 shitty songs like they do with their normal DLC so this choice would be easy? :lol

Yeah, I'll probably do it since I like the song so much.

Tons of songs on RB2 and DLC I want though. ^_^

Those 3 songs will be available as DLC eventually if not day one when RB3 releases. All songs that were part of a deal or track pack (Pearl Jam & Disturbed tracks and the various track packs) have eventually become available for everyone to download. The pre order deal just lets you get them for free.

So what are the chances that the Realtar won't be out in time for the Rock Band 3 release? My mind's currently trying to figure out if I'm getting a keytar or a keyboard with midi adapter or skipping that entirely, but really, I'm all about the Realtar and I'd be pissed if it didn't come out until after RB3.

I believe I read (or watched) an interview where they said it won't be out until after the game launches.

This is a bit off-topic, but since the RB official thread was put down I don't know where else to put this.

I'm hoping to escape the limitations of the Wii RB and am getting a 360 for RB3. It means leaving behind too much DLC, but oh well. (Oh for song transfers or universal instruments.) How do I maximize the amount of songs available while minimizing cash outlay? Has it been announced whether RB3 will be able to suck up the content from RB1/2/Lego?

Furthermore, I will have to replace my poor Wii hardware with 360 instruments. Is there an ideal path for this? Discount RB2 bundle? I've seen a lot of people who prefer the GH drumkit, and I don't disagree. I prefer the thinner RB guitars to the GH ones by a ways, but not all my friends agree.

Decisions, decisions :(

The chances are about 100%.

Any word about the PS3 version having dongle free controllers? It would be nice, I have way more HDD space on the triple and I'd prefer to play on it but dongles are a pain, especially when considering the system has BT support.

I heard the PS3 instruments will have dongles. :( No idea why really.

The first batch of PS3s have horrendous BT antennas. Remember that they had to juice the BT range of the controllers substantially to make up for this. I remember my Sixaxis dropping its connection about once every couple hours.

I would assume that is part of the reason. Given the added expense of the dongles, rest assured they're not doing it just to torture PS3 owners. :lol

Is this Bizzaro world? RB drums are so much better than GH drums and with cymbal charting in RB3 no one has any reason to play with those. Unless you want to play drums in GH but who wants that? :lol

Guitar is a preference thing, most "pro" players play with GH guitars. I like the RB guitars better but I'm nowhere near 100% some crazy shit, so take that as you want.

There is only one drumkit.

So if you're going to upgrade, do it right. I've heard a shitton of discussions about whether RB or GH has the better drumkit, and it fell mute as soon as the Ion Rocker came in the discussion.

I've got one of those. I just hope it's fully supported with the game.

Harmonix has already confirmed that most drum charts will be pro mode compatible.

And, any and all old RB instruments will work just fine with RB3. Pro Mode's a slightly different story, but everything will function.

Any word on when the MIDI adapter is popping up? I want to play keyboard day one, but I don't to have to buy the official keyboard since I already have a MIDI keyboard I could use.

http://rockbandaide.com/6859/huge-rock-band-3-setlist-rumor/

All signs point to this leak being legitimate so far.

* Amy Winehouse – Rehab
* Anthrax – Caught In A Mosh
* Avenged Sevenfold – Beast and The Harlot
* Bob Marley and The Wailers – Get Up, Stand Up
* David Bowie – Space Oddity
* Devo – Whip It
* Faith No More – Midlife Crisis
* Filter – Hey Man, Nice Shot
* HIM – Killing Loneliness
* Marilyn Manson – The Beautiful People
* Queens Of The Stone Age – No One Knows
* Rammstein – Du Hast
* Slipknot – Before I Forget
* Steve Miller Band – Fly Like An Eagle
* Tears For Fears – Everybody Wants To Rule The World
* Tegan and Sara – The Con
* The B52′s – Rock Lobster
* The Beach Boys – Good Vibrations
* The Police – Don’t Stand So Close To Me
* The Ramones – I Wanna Be Sedated
* The Smiths – Stop Me If You’ve Heard This One Before
* Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers – I Need To Know
* Warren Zevon – Werewolves Of London

A lot of winners in that bunch. THE SMITHS! BOB MARLEY! :D

We'll know the songs tomorrow, but these artists are confirmed:

Tears for Fears
Marilyn Manson
The B-52's
Def Leppard
Filter
Foreigner

So if the whole leak isn't proven tomorrow, but those end up lining up, we can probably trust the rest of it.

I'd rather have them use a better guitar than a shit one. To me, paying $50-100 more is worth it if the item goes from shit to decent. When you're already paying a fair amount of coin no matter what, a little more for a big jump is worth it IMO. Just like there is diminishing returns, the opposite holds true as well. You most certainly can go too cheap, and the drop off can be like a cliff.

That said, they don't need to move into the custom/vintage/classic level (though damn, I love my classic vibes). I suppose a 'Standard' Strat model would be a okay, if they must keep the price down. It retails in the $230 range. For $50 (retail) more though, they could grab a Deluxe. That would still make it viable to hit around $299 I suspect, and would yield a decent enough guitar.

What I'm scared of is them dropping some shit like an Affinity or Bullet. They're steaming piles, and would not be worth it IMO.
