Rock Band DLC Announcements

BobsRevenge

I do not avoid women, GAF, but I do deny them my essence.
I'm fairly certain that Cosmic Dancer is the best song ever made. I really enjoy it on drums in RB, but I've always been a huge fan of it.

So, wait, what do I do to get some free songs? Where are they? Can I do it through the website?

No, it's RB3 DLC and on PartnerNet from what I understand.

In terms of RB2 DLC, there's Jimi today and these RBN songs:

Boney Mean - Rotten Cat Halloween Rat || full version (80 MSP) || trial version
Fang Island - Daisy || full version (160 MSP) || trial version
Of Mice & Men - Second & Sebring || full version (160 MSP) || trial version
Nushu - Spill || full version (160 MSP) || trial version
Steve Fister - Old Lady Trouble || full version (80 MSP) || trial version
Suicide Silence - Wake Up || full version (160 MSP) || trial version
The Virginmarys - Bang Bang Bang || full version (80 MSP) || trial version
Zigaboo Modeliste - Standing in Your Stuff || full version (160 MSP) || trial version

Fans of The White Stripes, Velvet Revolver, and other modern takes on Zeppelin should check out The Virginmarys. (Please.) And Zigaboo's got some really nice funk, so that's worth a look too.

RB3 is 2 weeks away and we still don't know how much and what songs will export from RB2?
We should be finding out on Thursday, which is the last Zine before RB3 releases. They mentioned that all exporting details (including how it's going to work on the Wii) will be revealed.

Oh wow, a midweek RBN update.

Amberian Dawn - Snowmaiden || full version (160 MSP) || trial version
Gatling - Nihilanth || full version (80 MSP) || trial version
OK Go - White Knuckles || full version (160 MSP) || trial version
Stan Bush - The Touch || full version (160 MSP) || trial version
The Red Chord - Antman || full version (80 MSP) || trial version
Visqueen - Hand Me Down || full version (160 MSP) || trial version
Wolfblur - Frostbite Cavern || full version (80 MSP) || trial version

Nihilanth is basically a less clever Hangar 18 without vocals, Frostbite Cavern is an ice dungeon theme, and hey it's OK Go and The Touch.

Excited that The Doors are on the Rock Band 3 setlist with "Break On Through"? We are too! So excited, in fact, that we're giving anyone that buys Rock Band 3 during its release week THREE MORE free Doors songs! Check out the in-game Rock Band Music Store in Rock Band 3 to get the tracks.

Holy crap, that Doors pack is totally awesome. LA Woman? Love Me Two Times? Roadhouse Blues? Harmonix has really been putting out the love recently.

Just get November Rain up there and I'll be completely happy. :)

Agreed!

Except I'm confused. I'm not buying RB3 so when will these songs be available for me and will any of them be free?

Never; all DLC released after RB3's release will only work with RB3.

Whatever happened to the idea that we were gonna find out about RB2 export in the Zine last night? I never got one.

Last Zine came exactly two weeks ago. We will probably see it in a few hours with or without export info. I'm not sure about that.

What a surprise, the PS3 RBN songs for next week suck balls!

"Sending Signals" Evergreen Terrace
"In Memory" Excruciating Thoughts
"Inheritance" Single White Infidel
"Nom Nom Nom Nom Nom Nom Nom" Parry Gripp
"A Prophecy" Asking Alexandria

The PS3 PSN selection is incredibly irritating... It's all no-name hardcore bands and comedy tracks. Basically, the last 2 genres I would ever want to play in RB. Unless we're talking about Flight of the Conchords, of course.

The regular DLC, however, is EXCELLENT. The only remaining STP song I want would be Sour Girl.

Wow, no offense to him but Single White Infidel gets in before any of my stuff?

That list is wrong. Parry Gripp - "Last Train to Awesometown" is coming out instead of the SWI song.

Well that makes.... mildly more sense.

I just took them from the Wiki list of RBN songs. The mistake still doesn't improve my feelings toward whoever makes the decision to bring these crap songs to the PS3.

Might be better than the tons more crap you see on the 360 RBN.

Nope. I want the Sunny Day Real Estate songs, I want the Surfer Blood songs, I want the New Pornographers song... you get the idea.

(general RB question) If I were to buy a guitar (or even keyboard) for the Wii, would they both also work with the PS3 version of the game?
