How can you hate on Burton's Gotham? The man's sense of visuals and art direction is the one thing he excels at.
Its fantastic, I just dont want it in Nolans movies. Batman & Batman Returns are fun movie to watch as Tim Burton movies but I dont want his vision in Nolan's more dramatic take on it.

are there any movies with a perfect 100% fresh rating?
some lameass critic is gonna spoil the party and ruin dark knight perfect score

whats it really matter? Everyone on this board is so sure this movie is gods gift to man and no one has seen it yet.

Both Nolan and Burtons takes on batman get much love from my side of the fence.

I just wish for god's sake that they would stop using cinematography to make the bat mobile look like its not going 40 mph.

Got my midnight tickets, also picked up Batman Animated Series volume 2 for 17.99 and Batman Begins vols. 1, 2, and 3 for 12.99 each. Thank you Best Buy.

I can't believe you watched Batman Begins vol 3 even when Nolan hasn't decided what the movie will be about :P

Can i have your time machine?

It's a second movie made largely out of the bits and pieces of Mr. Puzo's novel that didn't fit into the first. It's a Frankenstein's monster stitched together from leftover parts. It talks. It moves in fits and starts but it has no mind of its own.

The only rotten review :lol

Actually at least one person on here has seen it. What flavor haterade you drinking?
Well I have seen it and I hope everyone enjoys it at least as much as I did. I think we are all getting too worked up over critical opinions and our own conceptions of what Batman "should" be. In less than a week from now, most of use will be sitting in darkened IMAXes, taking it all in. That singular experience will be beyond all the hype, the advertising, the tragedy of Heath's passing; at least it ought to be.

oh so its nothing special theres tons of them:lol
nvm lol

and only toy story has over 100 reviews. if TDK can stay in 100%, it will definitely be at the top of that list. sadly, someone will spoil it.

Is the movie ruined for you once a rotten comes in? Are you going to sit in the theatre and moan that the movie you're about to see is only 99% fresh? Come on.

Thank god Ive never heard even a single person in my life talk about RT outside the internet.

Many angry hate-filled emails will be sent to the first person to give it a rotten review.

are you talking to me? did i ever say the movie would be ruined? what is wrong with wanting a movie i am excited for to have unanimous praise?

Well thats pretty pathetic. If the movie is great to you, who cares if someone else didnt like it?

Im talking to everyone who is fearing the first negative review.

It doesn't ruin the movie, but I liken rooting for Rotten scores to rooting for your favorite sports team.

I care? I want to impose my views on others and if they don't accept them, then I will yell my views louder and louder until they give up.
I'll do it just for shits and giggles, I don't give a fuck if everybody else hates this movie :p
Also, what ^he said.

I just watched Batman Begins again on blu-ray. What an amazing film and it just make the wait till the end of this week harder (E3 makes it easier).

I also didn't want to see the prologue again since I would soon anyway, but I wanted to see what the quality was going to be like. A mix of being blown away by the quality and how awesome that scene was got me to watch the entire thing. TDK is going to be amazing.

It begins.

David Edelstein said:
The Dark Knight is noisy, jumbled, and sadistic. Even its most wondrous vision—Batman’s plunges from skyscrapers, bat-wings snapping open as he glides through the night like a human kite—can’t keep the movie airborne. There’s an anvil attached to that cape.

David Idiotstein said:
...the psychological twists in The Dark Knight—especially the transformation of Dent into “Two-Face”—are baffling as drama. They play as if they’d been penned by Oxford philosophy majors trying to tone up a piece of American pop—to turn it into an uncivil Shavian dialogue, Don Juan in Hell with mutilations and truck crashes.

Oh, the verbiage probably wouldn’t matter if those truck crashes were any fun, but the tumult is spectacularly incoherent. Nolan appears to have no clue how to stage or shoot action. He got away with the chopped-up fights in Batman Begins because his hero was a barely glimpsed ninja, coming at villains from all angles in stroboscopic flashes. There are more variables here, which means more opportunities to say “What the f--- just happened?” I defy you to make spatial sense of the early scene in which Batman battles faux Batmen, gangsters, and the Scarecrow (Cillian Murphy in a cameo that comes to nothing). If you can, move on to Level 2, diagramming the “Bat-tank versus Joker-truck versus cop car” chase. Then, finally, take the Ultimate Challenge: following the climax with Batman, the Joker, more faux Batmen, decoy hostages dressed as clowns, a SWAT team, and Morgan Freeman’s Lucius with some kind of sonar monitoring gizmo that tracks all the parties on video screens. Actually, Freeman looks like he knows what’s going on. Maybe the sequence plays well in sonar.

I saw it in Imax, and let me tell you, on that colossal screen, those skyscraper bat-plunges (in Gotham and Hong Kong) are something to see—and feel. If they rigged up that Disney World thing where your seats tilt in sync with the camera, they’d have to keep out pregnant women and people with fear of heights. The momentum doesn’t carry through, though. The Dark Knight is all fits and starts—fitfully suspenseful, fitfully scary, one jerky episode after another with jolts of brutality to keep you revved up. When Burton’s Batman came out, some prominent critics griped that the film was too violent for kids. Wait’ll they get a load of this.

I just saw preview where nolan said the action will be more coherant and less shakey cam. They showed a clip to prove that too.............so i dont really know if that reviewer was being honest or not.

Are you gonna trust to Nolan or a movie reviewer who liked "Dont mess with the Zohan" :lol

As long as this idiot's review doesn't get posted up to RT, than it's all good.

GUYS, this is a matter of utmost IMPORTANCE:

IMAX or regular, day 1? I am lucky enough to have the option for the thursday night midnight screening...

I am leaning towards regular because I've never been to an imax movie, and my friend said something about wearing 3d glasses for certain scenes of imax movies?? I don't want to be bothered to put on/take off 3d glasses for different scenes....

unless the dark knight will be a bit different?

I need to know by tonite!! dont fail me gaf!!

The Dark Knight doesn't have any 3D scenes. There are no glasses involved. Go IMAX.

The best way to say it is...the screen was like 3-4x the size of a normal one(And the threater only holds maybe 2x more people then a normal one). The picture was much more clear and focus. No 3D glasses...those are only needed for 3D movies.

Its just a more immersive experience to say. Its more screen, less wall:lol

I would say go for it if you have the chance. Myself...I'm going see it on it the weekend after its out. I could get tickets and everything by the one by me. I just dislike crowded theaters is all. With the normal one and afternoon shows...maybe 10-20people in it. Imax is packed

IMAX is a high definition film format, not 3D(although you can have both). Normally movies are shot on a vertical 35mm strip of film, while IMAX is shot on sideways 70mm.

damn IMAX is huge when you compare it like that.

and on a side note, i cannot stop listening to TDK soundtrack! getting me so pumped

Yeah, there's just something weird about it. I don't think the designers know anything about Batman characters at all...

Yeah, I see what you mean. But I dunno, there's just something about this poster, like there's some kind of subliminal cross-promotion going on in it...
