What the fuck is wrong with Bale's accent. I'm watching the TODAY show that I recorded earlier, and he sounds like he's from Brooklyn. :lol

I just remembered an interview with Bale during the release of Begins that brought this up.:

http://movies.about.com/od/batman/a/batmancb060805.htm

Losing the Accent for “Batman Begins” Interviews: I expected Bale to speak with his normal accent in interviews but he didn’t and that caught a lot of journalists – myself included – by surprise. “I just finished doing another movie which I had to have an American accent for and I just made a decision, actually very much based on what you just said, that it’s just too weird having a guy playing Batman speaking in a British accent, you know, for interviews. For Batman interviews I’ll stick to this.”

I think he doesn't want the general public to know that Batman is played by an Englishman?

Welshman, actually. But so I can carry on feeling proud, just call him British. Britman, if you will.

How bout we dial down the hype, it will pay off when we finally see the thing. Here we go.

It will be shit. You guys are going to pay money to see shit. From the trailer I see bad acting, bad action, despicable dialogue.

Fuck this movie.

Nah, I think it was mostly the script in that first 20 minutes as well. Hard for anyone to get excited about the 'killing time till we find Neo' scenes. The whole Logos/Zion/Neo&Trinity heading to 01/Final Fight (except for the shitty flying parts) was handled great. Then of course there's that hokey Gloria Foster-less ending that seemed unbecoming of the series.

I still don't understand how people can say it was a shitty film, yet go and see some shitty sci fi flick like Aeon Flux and say its pretty good.
Trust me, I'm not one of those people. MR is like, 5/10. The AF trailer (haven't seen the film) is -1000000000/10.

Good intentions, poor execution :P

Anybody want to dial up their predictions?

The Dark Knight: Third Highest Advance Ticket Sales of All Time
from /Film by orfilms@gmail.com (slashfilm.com)

The advance ticket sales of The Dark Knight continues to point to a huge opening weekend at the box office. The Christopher Nolan comic book sequel is currently outselling three of the Top-10 Performing Films of All-Time at the same point in the sales cycle. According to MovieTickets.com, The Dark Knight has sold out over 150 performances in Los Angeles and New York alone. That’s more than three times as many advance tickets as Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, more than twice as many as Spider-Man 3 and almost twice as many as Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers at the same point in the sales cycle for each film. According to Steve Mason, the only two films to do this kind of advance online business were Star Wars: Epsiode III – Revenge of the Sith, and Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire.

It's going to get close to Spiderman's record of a 150 million opening. The only thing holding it back is the long run-time.
Whatever the case, Solo's predictions are steadily inching towards 'conservative'. ;-P

I watched Batman Begins last night in prep for this. It amazes me how well structured and tight the script for Begins is. No scene is wasted, the narrative just build and builds. It has this wonderful momentum to it.

Dark Knight is even tighter, if possible. Nothing is wasted, there is a point to everything.

It's been described as "economic", so yeah.

Also, as for dialing down the hype... It's too late, I'm in the hospital after suffering the combination of a heart attack and a stroke.

:O You might miss the Dark Knight! Don't die!

Bah, the left side of my body being paralyzed and the risk of death aren't even factors when it comes to see TDK in IMAX. I mean, if it was a regular cinema, I might give it a second thought, or another movie perhaps...

(59:14:58) left until the rapture.

The Dark Knight Sells Out Over 450 Screening
from The Movie Blog by john@themovieblog.com (John Campea)

We’re still days away from the release of The Dark Knight, and already MovieTickets.Com is reporting that The Dark Knight has sold out over 450 screenings of the film in North America… over 150 screenings in Los Angeles and New York alone.

They estimate that by the time the movie is released The Dark Knight might sell more advanced tickets than any other film in history. That’s a lot of cabbage.

Keep in mind that online movie ticket sales go up every year as more and more people take advantage of the service. But still… over 450 shows already sold out? Holy crap!

About a month ago I said I didn’t think The Dark Knight would break $100 million opening weekend. After seeing a screening a couple of weeks ago and knowing what kind of buzz it was going to get (The movie is fantastic) I had to change my tune… now I think there is a very real possibility it may break the all time opening weekend box office record (in the $150 million range). Lots of cabbage.

Saw it last night at a premier event. All I can say is..

I thought Iron Man was an awesome comic book hero movie. The Dark Knight shits all over it. Heath Ledger's performance was amazing, Two-face looked absolutely gross, and no Bat-nipples!

References to the great irony of Harvey Dent being the white knight, then Batman being the Dark Knight were much appreciated.

Can you say what the crowd reaction was like?

my retarded friends are retarded. They couldnt get their shit together, so instead of seeing the midnight imax, we're seeing the 6:05 AM imax. I'm gonna pull an all nighter i guess. I dont have work the next day.

Another negative review added to RT

And it's ALSO FROM NEW YORK!

so 4 negative reviews. 3 are from new york and have the first name David.

we have to just wipe out anyone named David that lives in New York...starting with David Stern

Wow fuck this city, what is with the reviewers here :lol

NY reviewers have a damn hard on for Spidey and always will.

My friend's cousin was at the premiere last night, and got to sit right behind Christian Bale. She's a roommate of some editor for RT or something. Anyway, she said the movie was amazing, and now I'm even more hyped than before. First-hand accounts of TDK's awesomeness are too much to handle...

I'll try and help deflate some expectations- if you didn't like Batman's voice in Begins, you're not going to like it anymore in Dark Knight.

that's not helping. i love batman's voice in begins.

i got out of work early to make the drive to Houston. I'm meeting a friend in Houston to watch it. He's probably going to go "wtf" when he sees all the fanatics dressed up.

IF YOU'RE GOING TONIGHT KEEP THE SPOILERS AT BAY OR I WILL BE FORCED TO HAVE YOU EXECUTED AT THE HANDS OF THE GOD DAMN BATMAN
