If he didn't like the movie, that's fine -- I'm not going to get bent out of shape over a few negative reviews -- but this New York Press guy kind of sounds like he has a vendetta or something. :lol

THe guy gave rotten reviews to iron man, dark knight and hulk but liked fantastic 4. :lol

Without having seen the movie, this:

Unlike Nicholson’s multileveled characterization, Ledger reduces The Joker to one-note ham-acting and trite symbolism.

smells so fishy that it seems to render the whole review moot.
Seriously, that guy deserves a swift pounding to the nuts. What an incomprehensible douchebag. I bet his friends love going to movies with him

"Hmm, I thought that was pretty good, what about you, man?"

"I found the subversive nature of totalitarian conflict inherit in the overspecialization of the main star's characteristics to be a rather fickle way of promoting his wholly unoriginal bout with the main plot line's indecipherable bobs and weaves."

"Dude, it was Journey to the Center of the Earth."

All while typing the review on his iPhone and sipping a latte.

Sounds like 7th, except you actually tried to say something.

I'd say the dude has a problem with Batman the source material, but he loves Burtman and Batman Returns is nearly perfect?

exactly. It's like a lot of these negative critics slam the dark knight for trying to be serious or trying to be something more than a "comic book" movie. As if they consider comics to be nothing that a book for the kiddies. It makes no sense.

Wow, you all sound like a bunch of internet babies crying over a few bad reviews of your precious Bat Bat film.

That is probably the weakest insult that I've ever seen on this message board.

You just gave me a flashback to 1st grade.

New Yorker - negative review
Time Out New York - negative review
New York press - negative review
About.com (aka New York Times) - negative review
Star Magazine (HQ in Manhatten) - negative review

CONCLUSION:
Not all New Yorkers are retards but all retards are New Yorkers.
Bad sports.

Wonder what Spidey would've got if they filmed in Chicago as well. :lol

I didn't complain much about the first couple, but this guy at the top of the page is a joke.

I just watched The Dark Knight IMAX prologue on the Batman Begins Blu Ray........

It was the fucking sexiest thing my display has produced..... It was like watching the action through a window.

Every film should be shot this way for the HD crowd as I swear to god, it puts every other Blu-ray I own to shame....

Seriously wow. HD has arrived.

He was the only thing that dragged Returns down from being the best comic book movie ever. DUHHHH!

Should've been just about Catwoman and Schreck.

i feel the complete opposite. devito's penguin is my favorite part of that entire movie.

New York Daily News

"Twisted, tortured, terrifying -- and terrific."

What the fuck is wrong with this guy?

I don't usually mind when a review is negative, but only when it is as objectively reviewed as possible. Two of the idiots review this movie as if they have an agenda against Nolan, against comic book movies, or as if they have biases towards how a certain "genre" of film should be. And that is what irritates me.

What didn't you like about the Penguin? He was just silly enough to be a comic book character, but just psycho enough to be a good villain.

I will admit though, that I like Pfeiffer's Catwoman better then the Penguin, but I thought it was a good mix. And Pfeiffer played that role (and looked) oh so good. It's one of my favorite characters of any comic book movie.

Apparently that dude from Spidey 2 was wrong when he said, "You mess with one of us, you mess with us all!" Not all New Yorkers have been infected! HUZZAH!

Does anyone have any experience with getting Imax tickets after they are sold out? Like is it possible to buy them scalped anywhere or do people sell them at all out front? I'm guessing maybe yes because its TDK.

It's not like a gig or something though, is it? There are half a dozen showings of a film each day. Well, probably about three in IMAX. At least in London.

Well all the showings for the entire weekend are sold out near where I live (Boston)

Batman Unmasked: The Psychology of The Dark Knight is on the History Channel tonight at 9pm EST
Delve into the world of Batman and the vigilante justice that he brought to the city of Gotham. Batman is a man who, after experiencing great tragedy, devotes his life to an ideal--but what happens when one man takes on the evil underworld alone? Examine why Batman is who he is--and explore how a boy scarred by tragedy becomes a symbol of hope to everyone else.

sounds good.

I have a feeling theatres will be batshit crazy Friday. My local multiplex is running TDK on 3 screens, 4 times each, and I imagine most have sold out.

Yeah, it's gonna be nuts. The multiplex nearest me is having 6 midnight showings on Thursday. It's on 4 screens with 4 showings each on Friday. Insane.
