Rottenwatch: THE DARK KNIGHT

I am in Seattle for a couple of days, where should I go? I am actually staying in North Bend but if there is some awesome ass theater in Seattle to go to, I will. I watched Tell No One at the Eqyptian and that was a cool place so maybe something like that. Also, I would prefer free parking but I probably can't get that. Is there any place that has any Midnite or 3am showings not sold out? Maybe I can't do the 3am just because I am going to be shit tired (time lag is killing me here and have to go to sleep by midnite usually) so maybe I can go to the 9ams or something like that.

Awesome. I guess I'll beat you to the punch! Expect a spoiler-filled email on Friday, lolz.
*turns off computer*

I was thinking today about going Thursday night as well (regular theater), when I saw there were still tickets available, but I can wait.

the comparison was to teddy roosevelt, and it was purportedly chris nolan's way "in" to the character. roosevelt's father was apparently much like thomas wayne, a philanthropist who was killed in a crime. roosevelt was spurned on largely by that fact to make big changes, even taking to the streets on a horse as a sort of night watchman when he came back home after a time away.

cut me some slack here--i'm doing that from memory--but that was the idea

Where the hell have you been? You've missed all the fun hype!

People have seen it now. That changed things...forever. There's no going back.

Alright guys. I'm seeing the movie like 4 times, and i don't feel like watching it back to back i.e. day after day. I love to keep it weekly :P

That said, i have 4 tickets for the Friday show @ 7pm - Toronto (Scotiabank Theatre).
PM me if anyone is interested in them :)

EDIT: Forgot to mention its IMAX.

IN THE MOVIE?!?! OMG SPOILER!!!! :(
correct me if im wrong, but greatness gone's post was a reply to what was 'spoiled' above. someone said names, someone said spoilers, someone said deaths. if no one had replied to icarus, everything would've been cool!

Christopher Nolan will be next week's guest on Elvis Mitchell's The Treatment. I expect that will be a very good discussion.

Summary: Stick to Burton's Batman, Nolan is a nihilistic, pandering, untalented, immoral hack. And Ledger sucked.

Thanks for lowering my hype so I can watch it and be blown away.

Oh shit, I just raised the hype even further by thinking that.

Time, channel, date?

Also, for those who have seen the film, is there anything Batman Begins that is referenced in TDK? I'm gonna rewatch it tonight, just wanna see if there is anything i should pay extra attention to. Try not to spoil any thing big when answer plzkthx.

Just got back and I'm wiped.

See this movie. Be VERY happy.

Good night

Yeah so I was getting ready to go see The Dark Knight tonight, since my ticket says 12:01 on July 17th. Except of course, they mean the 18th, so that totally has changed my evening.

Now the wait is somehow painful and annoying.

There's not a quiz at the end of the movie or anything, but yes.

Terry Gilliam is pretty pissed about the publicity Ledger is getting

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/mandrake/2303391/Kapow!-Terry-Gilliam-attacks-Heath-Leger-Oscar-campaign.html

Sir Michael Caine may have lately added his respected voice to the growing clamour for a posthumous Oscar for Heath Ledger, his co-star in the new Batman film The Dark Knight, but the director Terry Gilliam tells Mandrake that he regards the idea of a campaign as nothing more than a cynical publicity stunt by the studio.

"That's what Warner Brothers are saying, but they'll do anything to publicise their film," says Gilliam who was directing Ledger in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus in January only days before the Australian actor died at the age of 28 of an accidental prescription drug overdose.

"That's just what they do and you can't get upset because it's bull----. They're like a great white shark which devours whatever it can."

Gilliam, 67, says that Ledger will still appear in his film fantasy, which he not only directed but also co-wrote with Charles McKeown about a travelling theatre company.

I am going to the 3:30am IMAX showing tonight. As a neogaf'er suggested, I will go early and get the best seat possible, even though I'll be going alone.

But a friend of mine told me that the theater is allowed to force me to move over to make room for groups of 2 or more. Can they really do this? If so i'm pissed.

If you have to move one seat, then people can "request" but not force you. They tell people to go to the centre of the room IF there is room to move, and moving to centre is always a win-win situation i..e best seats.

He said they can force me and then the theater can call the cops to escort me out of the theater if I don't do what they say. Yeah this sounded freakin insane to me.

Yeah, that's retarded. That can't be the way things are.

No. The group will have to split then. But to be honest. Don't be an ass about it either. Lets say you sit at the 2nd to the end. I think you get the idea here. If it is you have a nice spot in the center and they bitch that you should move out of the row or some shit. Tell em to go boil an egg:lol

Theater can't really tell you to move from your set to accommodate other guest at your cost. Atleast that is how mine was.
