Theres nothing spoiled there. If someone is that sensitive to information they shouldn't be in this thread in the first place.
I agree that it's not a spoiler per se...but just knowing that it's a "wow" moment might dilute it a bit, I think. There's no reason not to tag it, since the person you're responding to has already seen the movie, thus should have no aversion to highlighting any spoiler tags.

Hmmm... actually I think you are right. It tries to do something so different. Its so full of symbolism... gosh, I was sick of the Batman lately, but this was something special.

I think the only reason I'd see this film again would be to just give Nolan more money, because every single frame of it has been etched into my brain. Good god, it was incredible.

The movie was just amazing. More than just a comic book turned flick, its moved into a real drama with great storytelling and pacing.

Ledger's performance is something that really needs to be seen. He somehow managed to create/re-create possibly the best villain I have ever seen in a movie or television show, making you love him and at the same time fear what he's capable of doing at any moment. Ledger completely disappears into the role. His introduction to the other crime bosses just completely set his tone throughout the whole movie.

TBH, the Batman felt as a secondary character. This was a movie about the Joker.
He wins in the end

ffs, can we keep the spoilers in the spoiler thread? That way, when people screw up their spoiler tags, it doesn't mess with other people?

:lol I caught that.

:(
shhhhhh.... my fuckup.

k, I better leave. Anyways, go see it. Even if you are sick of Batman like I was. GO SEE IT!

Just got back from the matinee viewing (a 3:15 show sold out...:lol ). Absolutely amazing. I even stayed through the whole end credits, but alas it was in vain.

Linkzg said:
I disagree. I think that we are just too saturated with Batman for him to standout as someone new.
No, I would argue that there are even 3 characters that share as much screen time and whose storylines are as important to the experience.

CajoleJuice said:
He is faster than you.

Not fast enough :(

But really, it was honest mistake, guys.
Don't worry, it doesn't exactly play out like that. trust me, you'll still be surprised.

Just got back from watching it. So damn good. So many people were watching it at 1:30. Shouldn't they be working? Also all the night show were sold out where I went. Only night show left was at 1 a.m. :lol

We went by the theater at lunch to buy some tickets for tonight.(brand new, first open day, all 14 screens showed TDK last night at Midnight), and we were tempted to take a VERY long lunch, to watch it. There were probably 20-30 cars already there, and it was 12:30 pm.

I'm fine. This is not like when I had No Country spoiled for me by FMT who just blatantly spoiled it.

I should've been totally avoiding the thread (and the other official thread) like I've been doing, but I had to mention the IMAX ridiculousness and ask GAFs opinion. :\

Chill, I promise, you won't get it until you finish watching the movie. If I ruined anything, I am deeply sorry.

When I got out of the showing last night, the entire parking lot was in gridlock for a half hour.

A half hour.

This film is gonna make SO MUCH FUCKING MONEY.

Batman is in the superhero genre. It's a superhero flick. It may be the very best superhero flick of all time... but it is still a superhero flick. That isn't a bad thing.

I was playing a role. The role of many people who have been in this thread. I appreciate that you appreciate my commitment to the role.

what i think he meant was that its not held back by being a superhero movie/flick.

that it breaks the barriers in terms of what this kind of genre can do.

oh my god oh my fucking god i just got back and heath ledger deserves the oscar, nobody will top him this year.

oh my god. i only want to bitch at the
sonar
and the bus pulling out of the bank other than that it was flawless holy shit.

this is a motherfucking crime/drama film, not a superhero movie. PLEASE DO NOT BRING THE JOKER BACK WITH ANOTHER ACTOR. DON'T DO IT. JUST SAY HE DISAPPEARED OR SOMETHING.

:lol :D

I watched it last night and while I didn't fall heads over heels for it, I did still liked it a lot and didn't break my heart like Wall-E did. The Joker is amazing and I wish Heath wasn't dead so that he could be in the next film. I also liked that Batman started to act like Batman and use his detective skills and had cool ways of putting things in motion much how I expect Batman to do so. I still would rather have Katie than Maggie and don't understand this whole "Maggie finally adding depth to the character" bit. Oh well. The final act is a little unforgiving but I will see it again once on normal theaters and when I move to Austin in a couple of weeks, see it on its Imax 6 stories tall screen.

I know that this movie won't be THE BEST MOVIE EVER, and I've yet to see it. Jesus. Calm down, bitches.

Anyway, I have no doubt that this movie will be the best superhero movie ever, though.
:D Now you see?

also, spoiler tag that shit!

Watching that interrogation clip totally ruined the surprise of
Gordon getting killed.
. Damn I wish I wouldn't have watched it.

Damn.. can't wait to see this!

How does it compare to Ironman in overall quality? Ironman blew my mind with awesome so it'll be interesting to see how this stacks up. :)

Once you watch The Dark Knight you'll notice...it has changed things. Forever. There's no going back.

Stop watching anything related to the movie. I dont' understand why people try to watch half the movie's scenes before the actual movie. Go into blackout mode now and you'll be better for it.

for me. Damn I wish I wouldn't have watched it.
That's what I thought, but then they were showed ALL OF THAT STUFF that said otherwise
Batman says he's dead, Dent says he's dead, the cops show up at his families house
the film seriously convinced me that it happened, despite the advertising. That was incredible. no film has ever done it.

Ephemeris said:
Damn. My sis said the movie made 18 million last night alone :lol

And that's only the midnight showings. That doesn't even include the 3am or 6am showings. Broke the midnight record previously held by Episode III by $2million.

While Joker/Ledger and WBs marketing deserve an insane amount of credit for how much dough this film will bring in, this also shows how incredibly received BB was.

I'm so glad this movie is going to be the biggest film of the year (probably at least). It really shows that the casual audience is not scared away from a meaningful blockbuster that makes you think.

they just mentioned the $18 million thing on Fox News. Also said that pretty much all showings for the whole weekend are selling out. This is going to make some crazy money, and i bet it'll do amazing with repeat viewings when word spreads about Ledger's performance. Reminds me of Pirates of the Carribbean in a way, the way a lot of people went just cause of Depp.
