I wonder if the X1 supports UASP. USB 3.0 enclosures with SSD's would be blazing fast.
I have 20 games and a few demos and I'm just over 50% used.
I have 40 GB remaining and will have to delete stuff when I get my next game. You must have some small games then.
I have
AC Black Flag: 22.2GB
COD Ghosts: 41.4GB
Dead Rising 3: 24.GB
Madden 25: 12.GB
Peggle 2: 2GB
Project Spark:1.4GB
Titanfall: 16.9GB
Trials Fusion: 4.9GB
Ryse: 34.5GB
Powerstar Golf: 3.8GB
PvZ: 12.6GB
NBA 2k14: 43.8GB
Forza: 36.8GB
Child of Light 2.3GB
BF4: 35GBGB
Pus a couple other things that Im not gonna list, plus apps. Thats over 290GB of just Games.
Clearly it would be way complicated for him. I don't understand how convenient is to have usb wires hanging around because for some retarded unknown reason console manufacturer won't allow you to upgrade to ur own storage

Did u look at the OP?
It would be so much more convenient to keep that drive in and not have to worry about losing or transferring files. Just plugging in an external drive and being able to choose between the two would be awesome.
MS are just killing it. They are making sony look embarrassing really. Keep it up MS
Would external HDDs have any problems staying on for extended periods of time? Since I keep my xbox on standby, would the external hdd be running the whole time? I know no one has the update yet, but just wondering how external hdds would work in these situations.
Sign me up for a 2TB drive as soon as I get my X1
Would be a lot better if we could just replace the internal HDD.
How much is a 2TB drive?
I need one for PS4 and Xbox One.

Hopefully it has no size restrictions and we aren't limited to only buying a Xbox branded external HD.
I'm sure that this presents the least issues with customers damaging their HDD connectors. Personally, if there only an arbitrary choice of one, I'll always be happier with an external USB 3.0 connection.
Don't hold your breath on that just install a new one of you want to upgrade the ps4.Awesome, I'm already a few games away from being out of space.
Hopefully PS4 gets the same soon too.
If you ask me, adding more memory in addition to the existing hdd will always be better than replacing the main drive to get more storage. It seems like an immensely more elegant solution to me.Great to have more support for the latter. I agree that it's far more likely people will up their storage this way than will crack open their PS4's to replace the drive inside, but hell it's not too hard to crack open your XB1 especially given all the extra space inside.
I assume there are some resources for cloning your XB1 HDD to another so you can just replace the internal drive if you don't mind voiding warranties?
Ahahaha
I think he meant in software support/updates...and in that respect, they are doing quite well compared to Sony (although it sounds like Sony has done some good things for PS4 owners, too; just not as much and as fast as MS).
Can you use one drive on two systems?
Just ordered a 4TB Western Digital drive from Amazon. I like the USB approach more than swapping the internal drive. More convenient. I will just hide the HDD in the same place I am hiding the power brick.
We don't know yet. Depends if it is just for media, or games as well.Which one did you buy?
So I just plug this into the USB. And bam, eight times the storage?
Does ps4 support external HDD as of now ?
