The same sony who left ff13 fly to 360

the same sony who was proud of their ps3 exclusive FF13 versus which then didn't even hit the PS3 at all?
27/100.

Why would Sony consider that a threat? They already have this gen in the bag when it comes to hardware sales
Who has talked about threats? They made a deal and that deal probably entails to not talk about other platforms just like a lot of timed exclusives.

"Hey guys, I heard FFVIIR is coming to Switch, but it could definitely be not true so don't go crazy!"

"HOW DARE YOU GET OUR HOPES UP"

I believe Sony didn't even mentioned Versus XIII before E3 2013 lol

Anyway, I don't think Sony would care if VIIR was announced for another platform before the game's release, it's already announced as a temp exclusive anyway, so people know that it won't stay only on PS4 forever.

I like how he used "second hand" source

That way if he's wrong people won't give him much flak and he can be like i told you guys it's second hand source.

If he's right he'll get credit.

Win-win
I don't really intend to become a leaker or whatever so credit with this doesn't really do anything for me though. I just stated that it's second-hand (it is) so people wouldn't be too disappointed in the case it's actually not happening.

This is a very implausible rumor. Like, if it were just "FF7 R will come to Switch at some point," I would think that was unlikely but difficult to dismiss out of hand. But the idea that Switch gameplay will be shown at E3 is nuts. They've barely shown PS4 gameplay! There is close to zero chance SE has been secretly plugging away at a Switch version all this time.

I hope it does - the more people that can play it the better - but I don't want the PS4 version to be watered down (graphically / FPS) because of it.

I wonder which meltdown would be bigger: the one from sony fanboys if this actually happens, or the one from nintendo fanboys if "FFVIIR coming to Switch" becomes "Lightning Returns Again: FFXIII Trilogy coming to Switch"

I'm rooting for the most devastating one.

FFVI remake exclusive to switch, there you have the biggest uproar.

Yoooooo that would just be cruel. I almost want to see that happen now.

Most of these guys use this tactic to start rumors and gain attention, it's nothing new.

If it is true I hope the Switch version is more true to the original (i.e. no changes except for graphic update) than the PS4 version.

Great news. The best version on Switch and portable.

Hopefully SE treat it as a priority and give Nintendo timed exclusivity to make up for when they mistakenly put the original FFVII on PlayStation.

So. Nice.

Hmm, I can see it.

Episode 1 will most likely only take place in Midgar, which is just corridors and indoor areas. This should make it possible to scale down nicely for the Switch hardware without making the CPU explode.
Once Episodes 2 and 3 roll out we will be on Switch 2 anyway.

The war is just getting started

I dont know what Sony and Nintendo fans would even need to fight for

it's not like any of them play the same games

im sorry

People keep thinking this...Midgar was really not that huge of a part of FF7. The game has an entire world map and Midgar is the starting area.

There are plenty of places where FF7 could stretch itself out, but Midgar's scenario in disc 1 really doesn't really have much space for 40 hours of content IMO

"Monster Hunter 5, PS4 Exclusive" would cause the biggest meltdown if you ask me.

That would make the game an entirely different game from the PS4 version. You would want a FF7 Remaster as opposed to the FF7 Remake that the PS4 is getting.

A+ post. Also likely to be true... At least as far as the timing of episodic releases goes.

Downgrade jokes aside, didn't Square just say that they want to support the Switch as much as possible? And Epic said 20+ Japanese UE4 games were being developed for Switch?

It's not impossible.
