I imagine that's been in the works for a while anyways. This pretty much confirms that XVI in in planning stages right?
I don't think that's necessarily true. Having a hard, absolutist date isn't great either. That means a game could ship in a poor state.
The review thread will thread of legends regardles of the scores.
That means it can be our first real, modern AAA Final Fantasy. Full of bugs, glitches and needing day 1 patches! But that's what's going to happen, it'll ship, finished or not
They have plenty of time to squash bugs and apply polish though, so I'm not really afraid of it.

What a time to be alive?! Are we talking reviews?!

AGNI'S PHILOSOPHY is XVI. #Believe

Curious as to what the original XV was intended to be.

Yay
If they announce it for September 30 then i expect it around November (after the inevitable delay.)
This game is different.
Why is everyone expecting delay for the game? I don't recall delays happening for the other mainline FF in the past, isn't it?
Just because ever game nowadays seems to get delayed. I don't think it will get delayed due to Uncovered. They have to be pretty damn sure it is reaching that date to have a whole event around the date

I honestly can't even begin to imagine the overwhelming feeling that will invade me once I put the disc on my PS4 and see the initial logos appearing on screen.
It's been too long....
FFXII was delayed several times and released 2 years later than originally planned. Why is everyone expecting delay for the game? I don't recall delays happening for the other mainline FF in the past, isn't it?
God, I hope so. That's sooner than expected. I thought it would be in November.

Goddamn it, on my birthday. Got to get it day 1 now.
September 30 isn't far away at all.. but it feels sooo far away at the same time![]()
Is it awkward if I'm crying but happy at the same time?

Guess the mods have to delete Verendus' account.
Well, what's FFXVI nowThis post from Verendus from early 2013 is strange, though, as he mentions Versus and "FF15 and FF16" and it seems as if that "FF15" is not the same as XVersus. "FF16" would be FFXVII now. Either he had wrong information or didn't want to give away the fact that Versus would be renamed to FFXV. But then what did he mean with "exclusive release"? Sometimes I feel he just knows of rough outlines of certain studios' plans, but not the exact titles. Maybe he thought a next-gen FFVII or FFX spin-off was a future mainline one.

There's a chance FF15, in particular, may be an exclusive release. Kind of. And with that, I'm off to sleep.
Yeah I think several FFs got delayed, including IX and XII. But I think he meant a delay after a precise release date (down to the day) has been announced. Once FFXII was announced for March 16, 2006 it was not delayed any longer.
The first release window for FFXII was Fiscal Year 2003 before Square even merged with Enix.
For Japan they announced a Summer 2004 release, then Winter 2004, then Spring 2005 and lastly Spring 2006 (announced at The Square Enix Party 2005 - similar to the Uncovered event, basically). After having explicitly stated a release date, like if it was set in stone? Sorry, I didn't followed much news on this one, since I didn't had a ps2 at the time...
Can we delete his account lol? He stated it to do it if he was wrong XD

But yeah, they didn't name an exact date until the final March 16, 2006 one.
