the fact that whoever took that pic also yeah'd the post really brings it all together

I'm not sure if I'd want a new Metroid. The prime games got worse and worse with each sequel, vs Tropical Freeze which was largely an improvement over Returns I think.

It'd be great if it was a Murasame Castle reboot. Kind of a Zelda-like third person action adventure game but with its own personality.

I legitimately want DKCR 3, which is why I know it won't happen. Tropical Freeze is so good it's stupid, I want them to take another shot at that because no one else is gonna treat that old bruised franchise with the care and talent it deserves.

I just hope its not fucking Donkey Kong.

Liked Tropical Freeze but i want Retro to work on something else, enough 2D platformers from Nintendo,

I actually wouldn't mind a DKCR3 as I loved 2 and it was so fun.

But sadly, Nintendo will always tend to look at the numbers first, and Tropical Freeze was depressing in that regard. It sucks because there is no way you can fault the game for that because it is an amazing fun title. It was the freaking Wii U and the piss poor sales.

Which is why I also hope that Retro's next title isn't on the Wii U. I don't trust the console to deliver good sales numbers anymore and good numbers is what Retro needs now after the bad performance of TF

It's sad :(

Really hoping that it's Donkey Kong Country or something new, let someone else do Metroid Prime rather than forcing it upon Retro Studio.

Don't forget Eternal Darkness. I'd prefer a new entry in the Metroid series though.

I'm all for DKC6 actually. I think it's time for a civilization of ancient robots to emerge and "roboticize" DK Island. How cool would those locales look?

That would be dope as fuck.

I think it is either:

1. Metroid or
2. F-Zero

But I hope I'm wrong and it's something totally new.

I think Nintendo is smart enough to know that the Wii U buried Tropical Freeze, not the game itself. It is critically adored.

I think anything Retro puts on Wii U will sell poor. People clamor for Prime 4 but if that comes to Wii U I bet its lifetime sales would be less than Donkey Kong.

The obsession with Retro working on Eternal Darkness its kind of interesting.

ED is a cult classic at best, i love it but its not exactly a game with much demand, less from Retro Studios, that game had totally different strengths and weaknesses. from anything Retro has worked before

We literally just got a shooter from Nintendo. No thanks, save Metroid for next gen.
Never mentioned Metroid ;)

But it would be the logical choice, a game like Splatoon doesnt deny this overwhelming 2D platforming goodness the Wii U has.

Comparing apples and oranges. Hell not even that, more like apples and asparagus.

One is a kid-friendly third person multiplayer-focused team game and the other is an atmospheric first person adventure game with puzzles and occasional horror elements.

No more Metroid please. No, their Metroid games are great, but the trilogy is perfect as it is. They should move on and do something new.
