I gotta say, it actually surprises me that, at least on this thread, a lot of people are actually ok with motion controllers to be back.
Motion controls never really left though. They're not a gimmick anymore, but an expected feature for many gaming manufacturers (mobile, VR, Nintendo, Sony, etc.)I gotta say, it actually surprises me that, at least on this thread, a lot of people are actually ok with motion controllers to be back.
I can't play Zelda with motion controls.
Heh, I own the most games on my Wii and it was my CoD/FPS machine for the longest time. Yeah, I definitely want more of that. Bring on the motion controls.

So no official reveal date/month.
GAF is going to go into full-on meltdown mode on September 30th.
I can't play Zelda with motion controls.
Not based on this thread. Hell, I know several people who were on the fence but will definitely no longer have Nintendo on their radar after hearing this. At best, it's mixed.
Ah yes, it all makes sense now.
Why do you guys reckon the NES mini controllers use the wiimote plugs? For backwards compatibility with consoles that no one plays anymore? No sir, it's because they are coming out with updated wiimotes for NX that also feature that extension plug. That way you can also use the controllers for NES VC on NX.
This rumour is 100% a lock.
Watch it be a screen with two wiimotes on the side
So basically the leaked WiiU prototype.
If this means we will have more Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles and Trauma Centers on NX, I AM IN!
God I hope they are not ruining a potentially amazing portable system by shoe-horning some motion control gimmick in. Nobody wants that shit on a handheld.
Let's hope they aren't fucking up with an 'everything and the kitchen sink' approach to this thing in an attempt to appease as many people as possible. It needs focus.
I think you're reading a different thread. Those several people whom you know have no reading comprehension as it's obviously it will support both motion controls (detached) and classic controls (as handheld).
whats peculiar to me is that Pokebank supports dual screen but not touch
Once again, like the original rumor, this just doesn't seem to be legit.

So... "Wii Go"?
Not sure how to feel about this.
On one hand I'm not surprised they would do this considering how much money the Wii made them, but on the other hand, they need a clean break and restart from the last 10 years. The Wii name is now toxic, let it die.
If Nintendo does this in conjunction with new games and innovative gameplay, then I'm all in. If they're shoe-horning it just to preserve Skyward Sword and Pikmin 3, then F off. They should stop relying on old hits from previous consoles to save their new ones.
Not everyone's going to be playing this as a handheld. Multiple control options are never a bad thing .
Oh! I forgot about the Trauma games. I would LOVE to have more of those. Trauma Team is one of my favorite Wii games.
I agree, but Galaxy 1 and 2 REALLY need an HD remaster.
Yeah using the bow with motion controls is so bad, gimme dat analog precisionThis 100%
Right, cause they ruined the 3DS sooo much.God I hope they are not ruining a potentially amazing portable system by shoe-horning some motion control gimmick in. Nobody wants that shit on a handheld.

That said, I feel that the way Motion Controls were implemented on the Wii was not really replicated ever since. What made Wiimote a special controller even by today’s standards was the fact it was a split controller (when it has a Nunchaku attachment) with IR aiming (far more accurate than gyro) imbued on it. I could simulate punches, swings and all kinds of movements with this controller, regardless of becing accurate or not. Neither the GamePad nor its competitors, like DualShock, SMarthphones or Apple TV, really replicate this. The only competitor that came close was Kinect, that was defeated by price and lack of buttons.Motion controls never really left though. I was thinking "New Wii U+"
