According to Polygamia.pl, after Xbox 180° Microsoft had to revise their launch plan. They are saying info from some Microsoft insider is that Xbone will be available at launch not in 21 countries as originally planned, but only in 13. Russia is one of these territiories affected and it is said these 8 countries probably will get console in 2014.

As far as Poland is concerned, Xbone was to be launched in phases and originally for Poland it was supposed to be 5th or 6th launch date. After change of plans now it seems it will be 3rd or 4th date though - June 2014. But there is a problem: recently Xbox 360 in Poland is selling not only worse than Playstion 3 is, but also worse than PSP Street. It all happened after E3 to all consoles, but while Sony machines picked up from bad sales, X360 didn't. To stop this trend, and situation which only could get worse with PS4 coming, it seems Microsoft Poland is considering Plan B and it includes importing Xbox One consoles from some other EU country and selling them here.

So there will be about 4.5/8 of the originally planned countries getting Xbox One at 2013 launch?
They are working hard to have 1 secret nation state, outer haven, ready so there's one flexible country you can visit and play in. You may/may not have to be a favoured nationality to enter.

Isn't it region free so does it really matter where they launch?
Not sure about region free but the biggest hurdle is they just can not make enough.

not a big deal. Console launches have only been completely world a very few times.

Good thing I live in the center of Europe, and surrounded by big countries that will definitely get the console xD

If true, this is bigger news than the other "Fridayton".

Of course, both are still in the rumor stage.

Was it before the 180°?
After, but the statement is not very clear. It literally reads "There're many questions regarding Day One Edition. We will tell you about the details very soon. Most importantly - Day One will come to Russia and will be sold here."
Other questions are always replied by "We will tell you later, just hold on a bit longer."

So it's vague about if there will be a Day One Edition on the exact same date like for other countries. Of course there could be Day One Editions on another date in Russia and other Asian countries...

Region free is down to the developers and publishers.

Xbox 360 has region free games and region locked games, same applies to the PS3. Wouldn't it be the same for the next gen? No current console is a 100% region free so we are not sure how the next gen will be.

We all have to face reality that having a smooth launch of a modern game console with all the bells and whistles is a thing of the past.
