Rumor: Virtua Fighter: Crossroads leaked footage.

There's a theory that Stella is a brainwashed Sarah, done so by the J6 organization. Dunno how likely that is; I am not acclimated with the VF lore, particularly since most of it is in supplementary material and not the actual games :/.

Would probably be the most likely. Relatively neutral, and most people know the FGC is on PS5 & PC.

Highly unlikely. Someone else already said the game got revealed at one of Geoff's shows, probably for a reason: SEGA don't want to anchor a VF comeback by console partisanship.

And in this case, especially not Xbox, given vast majority of the FGC is on PS5 & PC, and it'd be extremely risky to push Western marketing for a revival of an IP that's struggled to make it big in the West, on a platform that's basically dead in sales and dead for the FGC.

Then again, SEGA have done stupider things so anything's up in the air.

If they do that I hope they keep them to super-hidden guest appearances, or just as costume variants for the established cast. Or, as special seasonal guests.

That could work. Not throwing Kiryu & Majima in the base game, but having them as DLC guest characters or costumes for existing cast members.

At the end of the day I still want a VF that's a VF, not a Yakuza dressed in VF skin.

Bookmark this post so we can come back next month and see if you are correct ;)

Allegedly, it's a cancelled Saturn version.
I doubt you'd like it! 🤷

They worked with Nvidia on this game. Jensen talked about being a fan. Probably on PC with Nvidia only features like path tracing. Although I'm sure console versions will be fine too.

Anyway this is definitely a legit leak. Devs are pissed lol.

Could have kept his mouth shut and let the AI generated fighter rumors run wild. Being angry only confirms the footage is legit.

She looks too young to be Sarah Bryant when you contrast her against the aging legacy characters. Maybe they will do a twist and Stella ends up being a clone of Sarah? The name 'Crossroads' seems to suggest an interjection of new characters for the franchise.

That confirms it. This is indeed the real thing. Thanks Jensen. yeah, it is interesting, because Nvidia really got their start with Sega back in the mid 90's with the first attempt at a Sega Saturn successor. The never released NV2 was suppose to be the 'Saturn II' GPU, which ended up getting shit canned. Interesting how the NV1 used quad based rendering, and the first games showcased for it were ports of Sega Saturn games.

The NV1 was also a failure for Nvidia, and they were able to save face with the DirectX TNT line of cards that course corrected the entire company.

EDIT: wait... so this video was posted a year ago? Really? I thought it was new. Like posted within the last day. Honestly this is how little I follow Sega as a company these days.

I hope for the OG cast too. What I hate about sequels is the removal of characters. VF traditionally never removed (except Taka in 4), they only expanded.

Don't Soulcalibur V this game.

Animations look great, the fighting looks great, the fidelity looks great.

But man, the character designs are almost all really boring. The biker/wrestler guy is the only one with any sort of personality.

I stopped liking fighting games once they included the cinematic in the middle of the game. Already the ultra combos in Killer Instinct were a stretch but at least the battle was already over then. That's one of the reasons DBZ games never clicked with me.
Thankfully VF has never really been like that. Even the combos are typically just a couple of hits. After seeing the direction SF, GG, and Tekken have gone I stopped playing fighting games completely, but this one is speaking to me.

Yeahhh VF characters were always on the bland side, they focused more on pioneering 3d graphics and gameplay and the character designs seem like more of an afterthought. A few normal looking people, karate guy, a Ninja, Rastafarian, and Wrestler guy with facepaint. Though, to be fair, it didn't really matter who the characters were in 1993, walking past the VF cabinet always blew my damn mind.
