If legit, it followed the URL format of prior updates:

The page is down now.

New screens, straight from their website CDN:

I'm confused? Most of this was already confirmed, right? Just the joint exploration that could potentially be huge.

Holy fuck! If that was actually taken from their website... my word, this update will be awesome

I feel like this stuff was already known, unless joint exploration refers to multiplayer elements?

Nope, only vague story improvements and portals were mentioned. Procedural missions, trade/economy improvements, joint exploration, and more would all be new if true.

Procedural missions, space system economy, shared (co-op?) exploration would all be news.

A GAFfer in the other thread says they saw it on the website.

Edit: Also, that screenshot is new.

someone is data mining the css

Code:
- Updated combat
- New exploration mechanics
- Interstellar trading
- New ships
- New story
- New worlds
- Portals
- New/updated Terrain
- Updated user interface
- new/updated "Visor"
- Visual improvements
- "No tint"
- Update to freighters
- Joint exploration

Yeah, joint exploration sounds like multiplayer but I'll wait until they show it. At the very least, if it's like your own instance where you and some friends are in, that's a step in the right direction, like a LAN game but online.

If even half of this is in that thread is going to be silly
In a good way I mean pure excitement from ppl still playing

Just going by that screenshot, which is a photoshop (?) of one of the two that came with the 1.3 announcement.... I'm going to not believe anything yet. Especially considering we are just a few hours/days away from the real thing so it doesn't even matter and if anything only tempers with expectations.

I'm kind of worried about the implications of multiplayer and the PC modding community. Especially now that modders will likely have access to all these cool systems to expand even further on everything.

I can't confirm the "list" that's going around but that screenshot is definitely legit.

Wow. It's been a year.

I wonder if the launch of this game has still affected pre orders of other games to this day.

Nice to see them continue to support the game though. Good on them!

What do you mean with legit? It's from an official source?

This is the official screenshot that came with the announcement:

oh wait... it's different. the stones are floating now and the shadows have moved...
mhhh ok that's interesting

I feel like this is one of those sunken costs things, I'm not even sure i'm using this phrase correctly, but what was the point of patching this game in this fashion at this stage? It's been a year, anyone who was actually interested in this game already got burned and moved on. Everyone else is looking forward to the other games that are out already or coming out soon. I feel like the company managing these resources, or "developers", has wasted them.

I can confirm the meta data is real, came from the No Man's Sky website and verified it myself. Outside of that, people could be making up the additional CSS info.

You mean like every other game, especially indie games, that get months or even years of post-release content?

I got burned and came back after the first big update. I still play it from time to time. Had they not made these updates, then they would have lost my business for good. They are slowly regaining my trust with these updates.

The link sent you to a password locked page, I assume someone started data mining it before they took it down

Yep - in the HTML page, they filled out the META Data (used for search engine optimisation). This exposed that content without the page being visible. It's because they're using a Wordpress plugin.

The CSS stuff may not be real.

This stuff is exciting. "Joint exploration" sounds an awful lot like

nah, but still, I'm stoked to see exactly what the full patch brings.

Not going to get overly hyped here. We're only a day or two away from patch and no need to set myself up for disappointment.

Everyone loves a redemption story. Good on them for continuing to support the game. I wonder if Sony would ever offer it as a free PS+ game one day to expose more people to the game the developers probably wished they could have released.

Can't believe they've managed to get me this excited not once but twice. Feels like just before launch all over again. Hopefully the leak and datamined information turns out to be true. Hype levels are at critical that's for sure.

Same. The second big update got me to put in another solid chunk of time with it. I'm really happy with how they've been turning things around.
