Rumoured April Playstation Plus (Europe) content

Pro Evo came out in September, if it's in the April collection, that's seven months. After eight months of the Vita, the first month of PS+ included Gravity Rush, Uncharted and Mutant Blobs Attack, I would hope if Sony does intend to match their other platforms in IGC quality, we'll see them earlier than November.

Still the point stands, these are the games you would have got from PS+ for PS3 and Vita at a similar point relative to their releases:

None.

PS4: 5 brand new games.

Well I've checked my purchase history for the cross-buy versions of the Jak & Daxter collection and Limbo and they don't have expiry dates like normal PS+ games, so I'd assume they should still be playable without a subscription.

That seems very unlikely to me, or if true then a massive oversight on Sony's part. There's no logical reason why they should allow Cross-Buy games to be had permanently without a subscription.

Mercenary Kings looks cool. Pretty happy with that.

Already own Sly and Hotline Miami, and both are good games for those who don't.

No interest in MotoGP or PES, however, so just Mercenary Kings for me this month.

GAF hyperbole never ceases to amaze me.

Not overly excited about the PS3 line up, Sly 4 might be a bit of fun. No interest in Pro Evo, I don't play Fifa so why the hell would I bother with Pro Evo?

Can't say I'm surprised that PS4 is getting AAA titles, it's only been available for 5 months. After E3 if we don't start seeing some AAA games being offered then I'll be getting worried.

So far I've been able to play Far Cry 3, Bioshock Infinite, Spec Ops: The Line, Tom Raider and a bunch of smaller titles, and all this just since Xmas, I'm very very happy with the service.

I think my plan of expecting little to nothing when it comes to PS4 PS+ games within the first six months, was a good plan. What did the people who are disappointed actually expect? That games like Killzone and Knack would become free after four months?

Well my sub is set to renew in mid April, so if Sly is in fact a PS+ game I'll let the sub expire and test the Vita version before renewing my subscription.

Seems to be getting worse and worse.

You're getting pretty fucking transparent, but luckily in this thread it's pretty well disguised.

How is it getting worse and worse? I suspect you thought you'd just pile into the negativity:

Last month we got:

Dead Nation
Tomb Raider
Brothers
Pixeljunk Monsters HD
Smart As

Before? (probably the strongest month in a LONG time)

Metro: Last Light
Bioshock Infinite
Dynasty Warriors
Modnation Racers
Outlast

December?!

Resogun
Contrast
GRID 2
Guacamelee
Sonic All Stars Racing
GTA: LCS

You're going to have off months - there's certainly not a fucking TREND of PS+ getting worse month to month. Holy shit some of you are so entitled.

Finally! About 5 months later than I expected but hell yeah Sly 4. I could end up liking the PS4 game and Pro Evo too. Already own Hotline Miami but I certainly can't compain about that one. Awesome game. Moto GP looks like the only dud this month. PS Plus has been improving the last couple months. Smart As and Brothers last month were especially yummy.

I don't know. The PS4 has only been out for 4 months, there is not many AAA games they could put on there.

I'm sure some day they will put Killzone or whatever for free, but for now there isn't much.

This. It takes time to build a library, and there just isn't enough out yet to give away AAA games for free just yet. I'd give it till this fall and I bet we'll start seeing some of them. But until then its gonna be an endless stream of indies, which I'm cool with.

Well there have been bigger oversights from Sony in the past. If you got the Jak & Daxter Collection or Limbo from PS+ then you can test it out for yourself.

If you do not care about playing Online and you are not fond of indie gaming then there's no reason to have PS+ on the PS4 right now.

I'm my opinion they have been giving a really good selection of PS3 titles. They have mixed genres which means that while one month the offerings will be well received by many, others will complain. The Vita was a smaller window of released games which again means that depending on your taste you might like it or not. In the end there's a little something for everyone and when you don't like one month's offerings you might enjoy the next month. Do not expect "that" game you didn't bought when you got all the major games on day one. It's not wise to expect Killzone or Knack (which I own both) on April. PS4 released on November, it's been less than half-year. ;)

I no longer have PS3 unfortunately but I do have a Vita and a PS4. I do not buy all my games on Day one, at this point I'm happy with what they are offering regarding indies but at the same time I stopped buying indie games. The reason is that I also play on PC and while it's nice that all this news indies are coming to the PS4, the truth is, I already have them for a Bundle that I might have paid 1€. Still, it's nice to own them on the PS4 if it's part of the PS+ because I'm not going to re-buy a game for full price just because it's on a different platform.

My only issue with the PS+ on the PS4 so far was the amount of expectation that I had on the release date. I dreamt about getting home with my PS4 from the midnight launch and being able to Download the Driveclub and purchase the remaining content. Now I have nothing similar on this console, not even a release date and I miss a good driving game since when GT6 released on the PS3 I no longer had the console. I just wish they could care more about the consumers and release more information. From the Day one on the PS+ to being delayed, to back on the drawing board (it was not like this but it was a similar message) they do keep consumers in ignorance. Even if they don't have or can't share new information or details at least tell your consumers something. Don't let them waiting out of pure respect for them.

My final note is, I hope Sly is cross-buy so that I can play on the Vita. Anyone think such thing is possible considering I do no longer have a PS3? Thanks in advance.

Expect more, perhaps, than my 1 indie game per month allowance on PS4?

It's the bare minimum, and they're fine with doing only that. I remember when PS Plus was great value, not a treat.

You know what's funny? The month there that you say was the strongest is what I think was the weakest of those. This is all opinion. People should be happy that PS Plus has so much variety. You're never going to be satisfied with every single month or every game. One mans terrible month is another mans best month and vice versa. The entitlement from some people here is just....wow.

This site leaked the February and March content weeks before the official reveal and was spot on both times so there's a good chance that this is corect too.

Exactly! Sure, this month isn't the strongest for me personally, but last month I already owned Tomb Raider, Pixeljunk HD and thought Dead Nation was shite the first time around.

This month I'm gonna get Merc Kings and Sly Coo[er - immediately a better month for me.

I think the only part of PS+ that's getting worse is Vita, but there isn't exactly a gigantic library in the first place.

Wonder what there is actually left that they could get a hold of.

You're not getting Knack and Killzone guys... lol.

Well, not until the PS4 has been out 12 months anyway.

Mercenary Kings has online co-op right? Sounds good to me then.

I'm not sure what people were expecting, the Vita had a years worth of games from its initial release to put on PS+, the PS4 doesn't have that, and it definitely doesn't have the years and years of titles the PS3 had when it started the IGC. It is also highly likely that DriveClub was to be the year long game, not the start of full retail titles every month, and seeing as it isn't out they can't give it to us.

Not every month will be a fantastic month.

Probably Indie games, PS1, and PSP games.

As for PS4, I wouldn't be surprised if it's announced around E3 that Killzone or Knack is in the yearly rotation.

I've said it for months now, but the PS+ IGC was always naturally going to get weaker, and lo, it's happening.

This isn't just about Sony having people locked into PS+ due to PS4 multiplayer and giving less of a shit. There are other issues.

1. The PS4 doesn't have an established library of games old enough to give away. There's no way around this. People are still buying new PS4's for the first time, and still buying launch games (as there's little else). It's ludicrous to expect them to give away these games yet. I always thought it would be minimum 9 months before we got full PS4 retail games on PS+. (Remember, DriveClub was going to be an extended demo type of thing, which they spun as 'PS+ version'.) If we haven't got a retail game after a year, then I'll be complaining.

2. The Vita has basically run out of full retail games to give away, and new releases are thin on the ground. What can they do about this, it's not like Sony wanted the console to die. We had a great 2013 of Vita PS+, but it couldn't last forever because the games dried up.

3. PS3. This is the one that should see the least amount of change, but even here I feel like we've passed the best time in the PS3's library, and it's downhill from here. Also, now that they have to pay for PS4 content, that's part of the overall PS+ budget that could have been spent on the PS3 games before.

So I think the service was always going to naturally decline from it's crazy standard last year. And this is a weak month for sure. But personally I've been dying to play Pro Evo so it's still a win for me personally.

*Assuming the rumour is true, as they typically have been with EU PS+

Even if I get zero IGC games next month, I already bought Fez for $9.74 over three formats with my Plus discount. I buy far too many games, and I still get value you from it even if I own most of the games in the monthly change. And Mercenary Kings was on my 'to buy' list anyway.

I don't even play online, I own a lot of the games offered, and I still don't feel like I'm been ripped off - but see it as a great deal. Looking at it month-to-month and it might seem disappointing sometimes, but subscribe for a year and look back at what you've had, and it's quite amazing value.

Recently Platinum'd HM. Shame it's on there when I own it, but it's an excellent game for anybody who hasn't! This means we'll get Sly 4 on Vita and HM on PS3 too right?

Sports and racing games though... Gets such a massive yawn from me!

Pro Evo 14.... aaaahahahhaa

Nah but seriously, that's kinda not that good. I have a PS3 for quite some time but never had PS+. I want to buy a 1 year subscription if they have something better than this. When is Thief likely going on +? I'm not sure if I want to pay 40 Euro for it now.

Didn't buy Sly 4 because I was waiting for it to get on PS+. I'm probably going to spend 10 hours in PES local multiplayer.

Still haven't played Hotline Miami.
I can't complain.

The retail games may have dried up, but thanks to the indie lineup on Vita being so fucking stellar we can look forward to fantastic Vita games on Plus in the future. Quality retail releases on Plus may slow down, but overall I don't see a reason why Vita can't continue to offer a great PS Plus lineup for a long time to come.

Not interested in any of them, but I'm not too bothered, I have like 20+ games I'm interested in and have yet to play from PS+

I like the smaller games for PS4 being free since they're shorter games I may not have played previously As someone who's strapped for time I appreciate the more condensed experiences.

Yeah, me too. For various reasons I hope they keep all PS4 plus offerings to smaller games and don't provide any full-priced 'AAA' titles until they're at least several years old at least.

As someone who's gone digital only I will not appreciate shelling out $60/£50, which is more than the cost of a full year of plus itself, for a game only for it to be become free within a matter of months.

They are obligated to provide something on each system, so no, it isn't.

It isn't free, btw. We are paying for this.

They're not obligated to do anything. They could have just charged you for multiplayer and not given any games at all. Stop acting like Sony owe you something.

Despite being a huge football fan I've never enjoyed actual football games but I'll check out Sly for sure.

*licks lips*

But Hotline Miami? On Vita?

Yes.
