Rumoured April Playstation Plus (Europe) content

Again you're not making sense. This would be a port of a game that Sony would have to pay for just to it'd be released at launch or a bit later and then given out for free? Where is Sony making money in all of this?

In the case of Puppeteer, what difference does it make if Sony pays for the port versus buying the rights to a third party game for a PS+ release? None. And a Puppeteer or a Ni No Kuni PS4 would be good (better?) incentives for a PS+ sub and that's where Sony makes money. Last we heard 50% of the PS4 owners are subs so there's still some room for growth.

I give you the hitman example, but unfortunately last fall no such title was actually launched on the ps4. We only really got the super big franchises like Cod and Battlefield.

Like I said, NBA Live 14 and LEGO Marvel were launch titles. I wouldn't consider them in the same league as CoD and Battlefield, or Hitman for that matter.

It's sad how people treat indies. Like they'd rather get random retail shovelware than a good indie game.

Well, one of the risks with indies is that it might be a game you already own in another format, even if it is a brand-new release for the platform. Less of an issue for single-platform owners, of course. That was one of the things that was good for Resogun; as a first-release exclusive, it was guaranteed that no-one would already own the game when they gave it away on PS+.

Not that I think that leads to them deserving the contempt some have for them, but it is a reason why this isn't a brilliant month for me, given how I've played Hotline Miami already and own (Indeed, Kickstarted!) Mercenary Kings.

Either way, we're always bound to have a few months that don't suit us, that's inevitable, and the idea doesn't sully the service for me.

First Premium Month:
-The Last of Us.

When they wind down PS+ on PS3, this should be the final released title, simply so they can promote it as "The Last Of Plus".

How many JRPGs are actually digitally available on the PS Store?

More than enough. For PS3 alone and from top of my head:FFXIII-2,Tales of Symphonia,Tales of Xilia,Neptunia games,Mugen Souls,Rune Factory Oceans and many more.

I wouldn't even have a problem if they offered PSP JRPGs.They are Vita compatible and there's a huge catalogue to choose from.
But unfortunatelly Sony continues to give the middle finger to JRPG fans.

Or the companies who own those games choose to not allow them to be on PS+. There's always that possibility, y'know.

All of them?Quite hard to believe that.
Not really. A JRPG game on PS+ could disturb the hardcore fanbase of the franchise that makes the sales so particularly front loaded. Imagine if they put something like Miku Project Diva F on Plus. Even if a thousand people saw the next game and thought "I'll wait for it to be on Plus" it'd be a severe blow to potential sales. You don't know and I don't know. But I don't think whoever is in charge of PS+ goes to work everyday, sees some JRPG's and goes "Nah, fuck those guys".

Someone pointed out low Meta-scores. Which is a rule they try to keep to.

Actually, have you ever commented in the PS+ updates on the PlayStation Blog? How about any threads that our resident PS MVP confirms he sends up to Sony? Our feedback has had tangible results on quite a few things.

Damn, a really weak month. I have all of those already except the PS4 game.

I'd like to exchange all the other four games for Batman: Origins Black Gate.

When is the store getting updated?

Sly Cooper is cool, but not really feeling the rest of the games. HLM has been on sale so many times and for as low as a couple of quid that I'd be surprised if everyone doesn't already own it...

Posted? Showing up on Australian SEN right meow

I love how all the freebies on PS4 have been day 1 releases. Don't know why people are complaining. Sony could have waited until the PS4 library was bigger to give freebies, like they did with Vita. They're making the best of it IMO.

The fact that I already have a nice collection of downloads on PS4 only 4 months in is pretty sweet.

You having majority of the games already doesnt make it a weak month, it makes it an unfortunate one for yourself.

There is a big difference.

It's very official now:

PlayStation Plus in April: Pro Evo 2014, Mercenary Kings, Sly Cooper, more

Fuck this. The quality of games they put into this service has really nosedived since PS4 happened. Not that it's any surprise but this is yet another month there's little content that I'll actually bother downloading. Meaning that 1 game exactly. Can't be bothered with the rest at all. I'll probably replay Hotline Miami on my Vita but even then I doubt I'll renew my subscription this fall if this is the trend they are going to continue.

Very meh for me, but I'm not even complaining as I'm already drowning in PS+ games I still want to play :P

Btw. does PS+ access work for cross-buy games?

Like, if I now "buy" Hotline Miami Vita via PS+ this month, will I get the PS4 version for free once it's out?

Are you fucking serious? Sly Cooper isn't quality? Pro Evo isn't quality? Hotline Miami isn't quality? Mercenary Kings may very well be quality too. So I just google Moto GP and apparantly that's supposed to be a good game as well. Hmm. Doesn't appear to be any duds this month. You not being personally interested in the games offered is not the same thing as a quality nosedive.

Oh and confirmation this is true? FUCK YEAH!

Super happy with the lineup.

Merc Kings looks awesome and will scratch that Metal Slug itch perfectly once I get a PS4.

Newest soccer game? Sure, great give as it's been ages since I've bought one. Will be able to catch up with the improvements!
Sly being YOPO is awesome as I can see it being a ton of fun on the Vita, nice to have it sitting next to the Rayman games on the platformer page :)

I've played the heck out of Hotline Miami on Vita but I'm glad to know more people will have the chance to experience it now.
MotoGP is a surprise, had been meaning to pick it up ages ago due to the wife's love of the sport so this has worked out perfectly!

Hotline Miami is one of my favorite games of all time but I have played it twice already. Other than that I'm happy that you can find those other games something that tickles your fancy but beyond that I find no joy in this selection. Also yeah the only thing that matters naturally is whether I like the games myself or not. There's no good way to objectively review games. Even if there were I'm still subjectively having to look at this considering it's my money and all. It's all okay though. Pre-ordering games is pretty dumb if you don't know what's coming. Should have known better.

PES is like £20 in most places. Will interest a lot of Europeans.

If you have even the slightest interest in football video games I'm sure you're going to want to play that other franchise... They're giving it away free because nobody wants it otherwise.

Not sure about PS4 but it gets you the PS3 version for Hotline and Sly.

Ok thanks, PS3 is already fine.
But will be interesting to see if it works for the PS4 version, too. I think there already were examples of such PS4 ports after the game was already available on PS+ (flower?) but I don't remember the outcome.

Then you could have just said the lineup doesn't interest you personally. You specifically called it a quality nosedive, which is just not the case.

99% sure it's YOPO across PS4/PS4/Vita. Unless they add to it, like Dead Nation, but I'm fairly certain it will work like Flower did, I'll try and find the article.

EDIT: Yeah confirmed that the PS4 version is cross-buy/YOPO :)

But of course it's the case. Quality in the end is always subjective. Closest we could get to an objective outlook would be MetaCritic. That's just awful though, isn't it?

I'm pretty happy with the two sports games. Last PES I played was 2008 (what a turd). It'll be interesting to see how good it is now.

oh I'm sure I read the PS4 is also part of YOPO, just that I'm not sure how Sony's system works if the PS+ offer is already over (when you "bought" the other versions) before that specific version (PS4) comes out.

If you have a licence in your Purchase History for the Vita or PS3 version it will automatically generate one for the PS4 version I'm pretty sure.

As many of you already know, all of the rumoured games were confirmed.
And they are out NOW! Usually EU PSN only updates Wednesday afternoon, but today it updated early, for some reason.

Mercenary Kings: https://store.sonyentertainmentnetw...ings/cid=EP2114-CUSA00404_00-0000000000000001
Sly Cooper Thieves in Time: https://store.sonyentertainmentnetw...time/cid=EP9000-NPEA00429_00-SLYCOOPERPSN0000

Yeah i just managed to get everything for myself just now, although i will warn that the store is being a little funny, changing games between being free and not so make sure you check before purchasing.

Looking forward to giving Sly and Hotline a go.

Oh i also didnt realise that the MotoGP game seems to be cross buy too, form what i saw in my download list with the download now options.
