Rumoured April Playstation Plus (Europe) content

Great variety, good. Would have preferred Nights like in the HK update rather than the sport/race titles, but Sly and Mercenary kings make up for that.

A bit weird to see a sport game up there, but still, great value. Reminds me of the time they put BF3 in the mix, since it's one of those games you could play potentially forever.

Hopefully US has some different games, the past few months have been huge, so I was expecting a down month, but I don't think there is one PS3 PS vita game listed that I don't have or am interested in. I thought hotline miami was already plus title? Also isn't there usually 3 PS3 games?

when do you think we will get knack? i'm interested to see it on ps+ just out of curiosity more than anything. Surely it isn't shifting anymore copies at retail why not throw it up on ps+?

I don't know if they changed it for the PS4, but wasn't it a requirement that a game needs a metascore of 70+ to be qualified as a PS+ game? Knack has a metascore of 54...

I don't know what people were expecting for the PS4. I mean they can't reasonably put full games up already, especially since there's consoles sold every day (and likely a couple of games with that).

They'll likely start after E3. Knack is I guess the obvious choice. Maybe KZSF after that.

Look at this hyperbole.

Sony, give this man Infamous SS SE for April!

Heck, give me something.

They're just fulfilling their bare minimum obligation at at this point.

Would that be the case if most PS4 players weren't already subscribed? Heck, why even bother.

He has a point though. When they announced PS+ was necessary to play online on PS4, a lot of people, myself included were worried that the quality would sharply drop as it went from being an exclusive club for the biggest PS fans to more like Xbox Live, something everyone has.

I admit that the PS3 has to start dropping off soon, and PS4 doesn't have enough games to keep the games coming at the quality we'd like, but this is clearly the worst month ever in the EU so it seems the worries were founded.

I've got a huge backlog of PS3 plus games and they were ridiculously cheap, so I'm not gonna complain. But he definitely has a point.

How exactly has the quality dropped? Because you already own these games?
Stop being so entitled, £30 a year gets you a shit ton.
just come off of Bioshock Infinite and then Tomb Raider.

Now you get Sly(which is great btw) Pro Evo which is quite big for football fans especially in Europe. Hotline Miami which is all sorts of awesome, Moto GP ill give a meh but im not a bike person but they do have more peoples tastes to cater for then just one person.
Then you also get mercenary kings which frankly looks fucking amazing.

Give us Knack waa waa waa. If you people crying for knack want it so bad, go and bloody buy it. It's 4 months old and probably still selling quite well. You wont see that until at least E3 and even then i doubt it.

You could have an xbox and be lapping up the 6 year old games

Not really a requirement, they've given out games lower than 70 a couple of times now as far as I know. There was Dynasty Warriors on the Vita and one other title, can't remember now.

Keep in mind that he could easily be talking about the poor showing for the PS3 and Vita. And I'd agree. Quality is dropping every month.

Hotline Miami and Sly Cooper? A highly praised indie game and a solid Sly Cooper game, both of which are cross-buy? I prefer this month's titles to last month's if anything.

I like the smaller games for PS4 being free since they're shorter games I may not have played previously. As someone who's strapped for time I appreciate the more condensed experiences.

Kinda weak month but I enjoyed last month so I'm not complaining. May as well give Sly a try. Liked the first one when I was a kid. Heard lots of good things about Hotline Miami so if I ever get a Vita, I'll have it waiting for me I suppose.

Then Sony shouldn't say they are gonna give us the best games based on a metacritic score of 70+.

That's not fair and you know it. Would you have rathered Driveclub be released as a subpar game just so you could have it for free?
I would rather they met the expectations they set. Of course DC shouldn't be rushed, but we should get comparable releases. I appreciate the realities of their position, it's unfortunate, but that's not enough to stop me being disappointed.

I think they should give away Knack, no one is going to buy it at this point, it's already free in Japan, and at least one major free game in the first six months would be a nice indication that the service will at some point be restored to it's PS3/Vita glory.

The nice way to look at it is they're in a tough position, they'll make good later, the bad way is everyone needs PS+ now, so they have no reason to even try, especially when they redirect expectations to things like Merc Kings.
It was a PS+ edition of Diveclub, with less cars and less circuits, not really the full game.
That is true, but they said it is a full game, with a platinum. It's more akin to a standard game versus a GotY edition it would seem.

Wow, I quite like this selection!!

Been wanting a football game, Sly looks awesome and been willing to give Hotline maimi a try aswell!!

Long live ps +

Maybe just give me more than one.

Yes and which game would that be that they haven't already given?

Basement Crawl? A terrible game?

New N Tasty? A brand new 30 dollar game that won't even be ready for the April rollout? No chance.

Rayman Legends? Nope.jpg

Name me one game on PS4 they haven't already offered on Plus that would fit this arbitrary "standard".

Would the PS3 version of Sly 4 include the Vita version?

Ps3 version of Sly is crossbuy? I'd love to play that on my Vita.

It should include it, yeah.

Clearly this isn't the best month, but for me that's largely because it's I'm not a fan of football and I already own Hotline Miami and Sly Cooper 4. There's gonna be some off months, but not forgetting that recently we've had Tomb Raider and BioShock Infinite.

awesome month if true. aside from hotline miami i don't own any of those. actually want to play sly 4 and mercenary kings and don't have any rediculous expectations in regards to free games from sony on a platform barely even 5 months old. so i'm happy.

Just about every type of game I dont like is in this list.

Football game
Platformer
8bit indie

All it needs is a FPS.

But...they are all games I dont own, and that counts for something.

Dude I'm down to play all these games and tbh I'd take any of these over Knack (except Mercenary Kings which I don't know a lot about). I don't own any of these games and I didn't say this was a bad selection. I just said it was the worst so far which is undeniable by your own admission, we've just come from the likes of Tomb Raider and Bioshock after all. I said he had a point saying there was a drop in quality which he does, but I'm actually happy with these.

Good month for me, even if I already played and finished Hotline Miami. Better than last month.

That is true, but they said it is a full game, with a platinum. It's more akin to a standard game versus a GotY edition it would seem.

Full game as in racing game including all the modes and a number of cars and tracks.

I'm sure it was going to be a glorified demo with tons of DLC.

PS3 could be better, but eh I can't blame them for the PS4 choice.

The library there is still small and they can't really give full retail games yet, those games are still selling and PS+ would pretty much destroy those sales. It's way too early to give a game like Knack or Killzone for free.

Maybe in a few months.

Just bought a Vita so excited to play Hotline on it. Crossbuy is great for when I get a PS4 too. Never played a Sly game but why not give it a try now I guess!

That's a pretty shoddy month to be honest. My PS+ subscription ended a couple of weeks ago, and I'm not exactly leaping at the chance to renew it based on that selection. Let's see what May offers.

Major publishers would have to be stupid to give retail games away to PlayStation Plus while the overall library is so small, not to mention the fact that other than, I think, Hitman Absolution in Europe, no such game has been released to Plus on any format less than six months into its life.

Haha awesome! My kids have just gotten back into the Sly demo and I was browsing for options to buy. Guess I'll keep the cash in the wallet for now.

A game I Kickstarter'd, felt like I probably shouldn't have as its a bit crap, and now probably going to receive for free anyway.

Boy howdy.

i think knack will be on plus, they may be saving it for an emergency though, as far as they can give decent indie games , since ps4 was only released a few moths ago and not enough games to feed the service unlike ps3 or vita (i guess they are doing the same with other first party like Resistance for Vita or Tearaway)

however, i can understand single console owners to be slightly disappointed, but as a ps3+vita owner (and future ps4 owner too, creating backlog) i think there is always a game or two each month on one of the platforms that psn+ supports.

After a decent start it's pretty obvious Plus on PS4 is going to be pretty weak sauce until the library expands a lot and they get enough content to leverage. Early days on PS3 was just the same.

Right now I look to Plus more for PS3/Vita and merely cache the PS4 stuff I'm not interested in on the odd chance I decide to check it out later.

Sly, Hotline Miami and two fairly mainstream titles with some appeal? I don't see why people are complaining, seems like a good month.
The PS4 offerings were always going to be like this for the first year.

NBA Live 14. How many units is that still selling? Five a week worldwide? ;)

I only really use my Vita now, never play online and I still think the £35 a year is really good value. In the last couple of months, it's given me all manner of games I wouldn't have picked up otherwise, plus a discount on pretty much everything I buy in the sales.

For me, it's easily paid for itself already, I'd much rather we got niche stuff I might have skipped first time around like Dynasty Warriors Next or interesting indies like Hotline Miami and Guacamelee! than AAA stuff I'm already likely to have bought.

I wonder what the threshold is for a gamer to be buying so much stuff that a years worth of PS+ isn't giving them the same value in games to play. Perhaps it isn't worth it if you buy and play absolutely everything on release, but if you would otherwise only get through a game a month anyway, it's awesome in the amount of content it throws at you, especially if you have multiple Playstation systems.

i own the game I'm interested in. Two trashy months in a row for me... oh well.

It should be noted that PS4 ps plus game have all been brand new titles, and you were getting them for no additional cost on day one.

You're not gonna get your equivalent of Bioshock: Infinite or some other AAA title cause the system just came out. I think what we've been getting thus far is pretty much the best-case-scenario as far the situation allows.

As for the PS3, I find Sly 4 to be one of the best platformers from last gen...sooooooo can't fault that.
