Animation bugs aside, what looks particularly worse? Mostly great textures, reflections are still there although in lesser form due to different armor, etc. I mean it's arenas as compared to the polished single player stuff after all. God of War Ascension's multiplayer looked great but couldn't possibly compare to the single player's set pieces.
It has very little to do with the game, because there's better looking footage of the game. It has everything to do with the console it's on.
Would love for THAT footage to be posted. It shows the game in a far superior light imo.

Two youtube vids arent going to change my opinion. I bought the game at launch and I played it at launch. The ai was broken. Try visting the crysis 2 ot and read some impressions
He is neogafs official crytek fanboy. Probably has some vested interest in the studio
And he claims he only supports Crytek for the tech. I call BS. He defends Crytek at every given opportunity. Be it visuals, gameplay, AI et all.
Crytek doesn't even need a forum PR rep with KKRT00 around. I don't think I've ever even seen him post a single negative things about Crytek or any of their games.

No, Titanfall gets extra shit for being an Xbox One game. Ryse just looks terrible.
Consoles and loss of talent happened. Then they made Crysis 2, Crysis 3 and this.
Does Titanfall really get a lot of shit outside of mocking the heavy media push? The overall opinion to me seems to be at worst a game built specifically for a Mountain Dew bottle cap and at best the next Call of Duty. There's nothing standing out graphically one way or the other to argue over, and I thought everyone was of the opinion that it looks fun and will probably be very successful. No, Titanfall gets extra shit for being an Xbox One game. Go read a Knack thread or any pre-Gamescom DriveClub thread to see how it can go both ways.
I'm not even convinced he goes down. He kinda just slides off screen really fast.
I wouldn't blame consoles imo. Loss of talent for sure
Exactly! It looks (gameplay-wise) really really bad. This looks terrible. If it wasn't a launch game or from Crytek, nobody would give a damn.
lmao hilarious!
Hahaahaha
Maybe because it genuinely does look rough and not fun to play?

Do they have a separate team that deals with military contracts or did those teams end up nabbing some of their game centric developers? Really don't now what happened but ever since Crysis 1, Crytek have fumbled.
I also find Cryteks console offerings sub par. Full of tick box tech features but ultimately average graphics and awful IQ (talking PS3/360). Those sub HD resolutions coupled with aliasing, lack of AF and awful frame rate, don't know why they even bothered to try and claim graphical superiority on current gen consoles. Hell, I don't even love their implementation of HDR and find its often too obtuse and bloomy, and that was one of the touted and well boasted graphical features.
Could be some decent button mashing fun but it looks a long ways away from 'playing the cut-scene'. Animations are too stilted and the movements look too mechanical in gameplay.
Are you for real? That warrior persecution complex. I don't know how you can look at videos and GIFs (even many of the journo impressions and previews) of this game and genuinely believe the negativity is about the console and not the game.
Irrespective of the platform, this game would have been torn apart.
There was a twitch interview yesterday from pax where crytek was playing the game, and there wasn't nearly as many bugs in that video. In fact, there may have been none at all, although I could be mistaken, and the guy playing for crytek was pretty damn good at the game, which especially made the combat look rather solid and more entertaining, but I don't see any signs of that video being online anywhere.
This isn't about the game getting criticism it deserves. This is about how some people are choosing to go about it. There's no attempt to look at the game objectively with the level of understanding you expect from supposed highly informed gamers that know bugs when they see them, or at a different level, can tell when a lack of skill or basic competence from the person playing the game is making the game look even worse. Does that excuse the bugs? No, they absolutely don't.
There's legit criticism to be made of this game, and nobody questions that, but what I see going on this thread, and usually in other threads regarding this game is nothing but badly disguised platform trolling at its most extreme. No attempt to seriously discuss the game because there's any shred of actual interest in it, but people who only ever enter the thread to say the same tired crap over and over, like "press A to win" or "aaaaaaaa" or "pay to win". Believe me I'm not surprised that you find nothing at all wrong with any of this.
For example, what level of silly season nonsense leads people to say the game's graphics suck based on a very low quality video on youtube that, if they were actually paying attention, and were here to do anything other than troll an Xbox One exclusive, they would know is in no way remotely representative of what this game actually looks like. And then to follow that up by posting shitty screen caps also from that same shitty quality video to somehow prove their point is, to me, blatant trolling. This is the same build that was at Gamescom, and of which there are far better quality videos available online showcasing the game, if nothing else, is quite strong graphically. I couldn't begin to take anyone seriously that's trying to make a serious statement on this game's graphics based on this youtube video, or only what they feel showcases it in its worst possible light. That's straight out of the console warrior playbook. Let me only find the things that I think makes this game look bad, and avoid everything that I think makes it look pretty good or decent. And then as it pertains to the gameplay, yes, we all know there's bugs in this game that if they ship with the final game, will doom it entirely. We've seen plenty enough of these bugs at Gamescom. However, there's also footage that shows the game more closely resembling what you suspect the devs envision their game to eventually be when bugs aren't completely ruining the experience, or when the player actually knows what he's doing.

its the ancient Roman Electric slide technique.

FU-KING YES!!! THE SEQUEL TO CLAYFIGHTER 63 1/3 I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED!!!
Ryse is getting ripped apart because it look like a horrible, janky, slapped together mess. Simple as that.
"Bu bu bu people don't like it because it's an Xbone game!!"
BS. Ryse would be ripped apart regardless of what platform it is on. That's fanboyism and victim complex talking.
It feels strange to say this, but a Kinect game would've been better. Mimicking Roman soldiers moves sounds way more interesting than this "gameplay".
SenjutsuSage, you are needed in another Ryse thread, this time you need to convince the IGN guys who played it that it is great.
I love this guy.

More like Lair.it's microsoft's genji
More like Lair.
LMFAO
seriously though... holy fuck @ how bad that looks. Ryse may be the dud of the century or it may come out of this, but right now it seems to be the Knack of the Xbox One lineup.
