Sam Lake "Yes" to Alan Wake 2

QB on PC is a given. Has a Remedy game ever not been on PC? I can't quite get excited about AW2 yet because its still a pipe dream and probably a long way out. I mean lets say QB is a massive success (I don't think it will be but what if?) then will we see an AW2 or QB2?

The very same

Considering that is what is suggested for QB, and AW is on PC, it isn't so much "port begging" as it is a matter of time and likelihood

Considering what is what is suggested?

How is that port begging? The fuck?

It really is.

Am I missing some big story here? Why is QB on PC given? is RDR still on PC given? considering R* history?

I feel like he said yes because it's preferable to outright saying no.

Like he doesn't know for sure it's happening, but he can't say it's not (or isn't ready to), so why do so?

Let them dream.

No one knows the real story about RDR but Rockstar does have a history if making PC players wait. Rememdy has always released on PC, even AW which no one thought was going to PC made its way to PC. I think we need to wait for a Remedy game to not show up on PC before we should make any decisions.

Good luck waiting for QB on PC. MS owns the IP, so it will take a pretty long time. Until the Xbox has had its full potential benefit from the title, it won't be hitting any other platforms.

No it wasn't.

It definitely was and is port begging, unless there is some serious report suggesting otherwise. None of the "history" bs. This IP isn't even own by Remedy.

Nope, just going by history is all. if it doesn't come it doesn't come, but I'm taking a guess that based on their track record we will see a QB on PC in our lifetime.

meh, Alan Wake wasn't that good of a game. Boring (with a couple exceptions), repetitive, bad narrative.

Highly interested in Quantum Break though.

Please let this happen.

No way is Quantum Break coming to PC, at least within an year of release.

I want another Max Payne. Alan wake bores me.

Dude, they sold Max Payne's rights a while ago. Sam Lake already had his ending to Max Payne in Alan Wake with the Sudden Stop. Remedy won't ever be making any more Max Payne games. And with how Max Payne 3 performed, I don't expect Rockstar to either. I don't even see a need for one.

It's not confirmed, but Sam Lake said in this very interview he wants to see it on PC (he would say no if it was something 100% exclusive in their contract) and considering both Microsoft is giving more support to PC recently (Gears of War Remastered and Killer Instinct already confirmed), as well as Remedy having a huge community of PC fans which makes their games always profitable, it is likely.

Not that I think it diminishes the Xbox One release in any way. I'm really glad its users will be able to enjoy another Remedy game.

Nice. AW is one of my favorite 360 games. I adored everything about it and need a sequel. QB looks cool too BTW.

And? No time frame need be given only the likelihood that it will be on PC is very high.

Meh, no need to be so defensive, it really is almost certainly a given that'll come to PC eventually given Remedy's and MS history.

Besides, 'port begging' is only frowned upon when it's disruptive/offtopic, given that the OP was in part literally about this, it's fine.

Sam Lake himself just said yes to QB on PC. Remedy has never released a game that didn't get a PC port. If I had to bet on it I would bet on it getting a PC port even if it's a year or so later. Seems like you're begging for it not to get a port lmao.

He said he would like to. It's not his decision.

Oh yes, Quantum Break possibly coming to PC has me excited because 60fps and better resolution and how many extras Alan Wake PC got (PiP developer commentary), but I'm expecting to buy a Xbox One to play Quantum Break around launch time.

I don't understand the why QB for PC is a given, not a don't want to see it on PC but the QB IP belong to Microsoft and not Remedy. So now the PC port depends all on Microsoft and not Remedy. And we know that MS will not release their bigger games on PC soon.

MS really has no reason not to let him. He fought to get Alan Wake on PC and it sold a shit ton. Remedy has a large PC fanbase.

Because they own Alan Wake, not QB

Alan Wake 2?
Quantum Break PC?

Oh man, I'm such a huge fan of Remedy.

Nope.

This is a completely different situation though. QB represents a massive investment on Microsoft's part, they will want to lock that IP up if successful.

I never lost faith that a new one would come eventually. Greatness takes time to cook in the oven. Can't rush these things. But good to get a confirmation.

But god do I hope they don't bring back the live action sequences from American Nightmare. Totally immersion breaking; every time one popped up I was immediately reminded I was just playing a game (thanks to the immediate contrast from the 3D models I had just been looking at), and that killed any fear factor I would have had from the game. I know Remedy has been doing this sort of thing in their games since forever, but I wish they'd at least keep it out of their horror titles.

I love Alan Wake, it was one of my favorite games of last gen despite the flaws and the Alan Wake 2 teaser looked great. Hopefully Remedy will work on it after QB comes out.

That was probably due to budget and size constraints. A Xbox Live Arcade game couldn't go beyond 2 GB.
