The case renders from yesterday point to the headphone jack being up top, but the older ones mirror the phone render I posted. We'll see.

Not at this distance, your honor.

Samsung needs to wow me here. My Note 2 is finally dying / having serious software issues and I'll be upgrading this year. I haven't been too impressed with what they've been doing lately and if these phones aren't impressive I'm going to the inevitable Iphone 7+

Do we know is the new Edge supposed to be big like the Note line or more inline with the size of the standard Galaxy's?

I'm due an upgrade from my S4 in June. Thought this might be the phone to get, but a non-removable battery is not a good sign. If SD card is gone I will definitely go another route if possible.

Looks boring. Will it be waterproof?

Strange lately, im noticing that 1080p 5" screens are not high dpi enough. That is when im viewing head-on on my bed, i could start seeing individual pixels, and it gets worse while scrolling, image gets more pixellated!

So yeah, im ready for 1440p 5" screen as long as it comes with 3000+mah battery and 14nm process.

Non-removable battery? Looks like Samsung is going on the "planned obsolescence" route Apple is on. Why replace the battery when you can buy a whole new phone?

pffft i'll wait for the 4K capable S7

Shame I lost my S5. My contract doesn't die until 2016, I'll be waiting for the S7's as well.

I have the S5 now and my contract renews on 2016 too

S5 is a good phone

Aren't you guys seeing that? If the shape is any indication it wont be what those renders show.

Some Poe's law bullshit going on here..

I can't decide whether it's people dragging trash they found from elsewhere on the internet into this thread, or they're openly trolling that the Galaxy S6 is an iPhone 5 clone.

It does look beautiful though. Way better than the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

Looks just like an iPhone 4.

Samsung need this to be a success after the S5 sales flop. BUT are people actually bothered seeing as Apple just sold 74 million iPhones last quarter?

If the renders above aren't enough and want a real life sample, go give the Galaxy A3 and A5 a look in stores if they have them. It'll probably be very similar to those in look and feel in hand.

What advantage is there to having the screen hang over the edges like that? Doesn't it cause tons of accidental screen taps just when gripping the phone normally?

Maybe I just lack creativity when it comes to the industrial design of phones...but at the end of the day there or only so many ways you can make black and grey metal rectangles look exceedingly unique. Especially in a day and age where everyone wants their phones to look as sleek and minimalist as possible.

Galaxy s3 was the last galaxy I owned. Can't really say I'm excited for this, we'll see. Oh and galaxy edge is just a gimmick. Lg flex 2 g4 is what I'm really waiting for.

Can any phone-smart people indulge me and describe what they think the pop-up thing could possibly be?
- Perhaps a better speaker?
- Perhaps a proper flash with some sort of light diffuser built into the external flash
- Perhaps could it maybe even a bigger/better lens positioned right there?
- Maybe some sort of enhanced WiFi receiver?

Those are my guesses. Your speculations are appreciated in advance. I am a big Galaxy Note fan, had the 2 and own the 3 now. I skipped the Note 4 but I am about ready for a new phone and I'd love to hear what your theories are about that patent. Regardless as to whether it's destined to be in the S6 or Note.

EDIT: could it also be possible that they've managed to improve the quality of those tiny projectors such that a certain kind of LED projection technology. I love new phone time. To me those look really pretty. I find that they're pretty much all cool looking (Androids and iPhones and even Windows phones). Simple, understated, and black.
